THE NO-MAN'S LOVE

THE NO-MAN'S LOVE
15. FEELING BAD

I had to get used to not expecting anything more from him. I don't want to endure a greater disappointment than right now. I understand, understand and understand him, but not with his attention. If his heart is not moved and fixed on me, why would I force myself and himself to unite something that has been different directions since we first started this journey?

Genio actually left his wife in front of the hospital lobby. Reasoning to be late to the office, he simply advised Egidia to give him the news as soon as possible.

The hijab-wearing woman was trying to resist the feeling that was already very tight filled the chest. Want to cry alone, but he did not want to look weak, especially in a very crowded public place like today.

Finally, he ventured to do everything alone in a foreign place that had never been visited at all. He looked at the information table right next to the entrance. With the supply of identity cards and family cards that Genio had given before, he asked the officer there about the registration flow to check himself.

Luckily, the two officers on guard were very friendly and helped him patiently and painstakingly. In fact, because he is a new patient and has never come before, they also help to find a doctor who is in accordance with his complaints, as well as register without having to go to the counter that should be.

After fifteen minutes of waiting for the file, the officer handed the patient's card to Egidia and asked her to go straight to the second floor where the doctor who would handle it was running the morning practice there.

The woman who began to feel pain in the head thanked him and still displayed a smile on her pale face. Then he followed the instructions given in slow steps, splitting the crowd of lobbies that were still filled with queues of registrants waiting their turn to get service.

Exiting the elevator that led her to the second floor, Egidia was startled by the voice of a woman calling her name. He paused his steps and circulated his gaze to ascertain whether it was true that he was the one being summoned or someone else whose name just so happened to be the same.

The woman felt strange if someone recognized her while she felt she had no friends during the move in the city. Only Tiara and her older brother were considered new friends, while the other neighbors were more individual and deliberately avoided friendship with the surrounding.

“Egi!”

A hijab-wearing woman with a contemporary model approached Egidia who still had not seen her, among the passers-by there. After the friendly figure got closer, then he recognized from the white coat worn and the stethoscope that circled his neck.

“Mbak Mutia!”

“Mbak works in this hospital?”

Instantly Egidia felt much calmer after meeting someone she knew in a place that was unfamiliar to her. His smile widened, momentarily ignoring the pain that continued to attack the head.

“Iya. Every day I practice mornings here, except Sunday. Day until night, I work in a clinic owned by my friend, not far from our housing.”

Mutia pointed out her study that turned out not far from their current meeting position. The obstetrician was not surprised to see his neighbor there, because he had suspected from the symptoms of pain felt since a few days before. Even then, he and his sister were helping Egidia.

Egidia showed the patient's card and a printed card showing the doctor's name, room number and the order number of his examination. Mutia nodded then pointed towards the room that was right next to her study.

There was a signboard with the same doctor's name written on the printed card he was holding. From the degree he held, it is known if he is a neurologist.

“Doctor Kaivan has come and is inside with the nurse on duty. I just passed her when I came out of my room.”

Mutia looked at the clock on her left wrist. Then he asked Egidia to follow him towards the room in question.

“The practice time has not yet begun. Maybe I can help you get checked out first.”

Egidia simply nodded and remained silent, letting the extremely authoritative-looking doctor knock on the door that was immediately opened from within. The nurse let her in after seeing her. The woman in the flagship suit pulled her hand slowly to come in together.

“Good morning, Doctor Kai!” greet Mutia kindly.

A handsome doctor in glasses who was checking the patient's files to be examined, diverted his attention and gaze, then smiled and returned the greeting of his colleagues.

Not wanting to waste any time, Mutia immediately made her point and explained what little she knew of the incident the other day. The more mature and charismatic looking doctor looked at Egidia who was still standing not far from the door, then nodded and greeted with just a smile. Egidia replied with the same thing, then hurriedly lowered her gaze.

“No problem. I'll check it out now.”

“Thank you very much! I'll go first because there's an operating schedule I have to deal with now.”

After saying goodbye to Doctor Kai, Mutia approached Egidia who still looked nervous. In his heart he felt sorry and upset for Genio who could let his wife who was sick, checked herself without the company of a moment.

“Egi, Doctor Kai will check on you now. Say all the complaints and symptoms you feel to him!”

“I have to go immediately to the operating room to deal with one of my patients. If you're done, wait in front of my room. I'll accompany you downstairs and book a taxi to go home.”

Egidia simply complies and agrees. After Mutia came out and the door closed again, the nurse invited her to sit down in front of Doctor Kai. Not only nervous, now the woman also feels afraid of the results of the examination later. To be honest, he had a bad feeling about his illness.

Why am I feeling so bad? I was so scared and couldn't think positively anymore. Am I really suffering from a serious illness?
