Chapter 21
The day that James and his father had agreed upon had arrived. Katie who had just set foot into the James family's mansion felt very amazed. "let's go in!" James held Katie's hand, "I just found out that your house is huge" as well as Katie, while James just smiled at Katie who was still astonished.
"where's my dad?" james asked a servant who stood up to greet him in front of the living room door. "the big master is in his study, young master" the servant replied as he bowed his body in reverence. James then took Katie to her father's study in the middle of the house, "really like a palace" Katie murmured inwardly.
TOK TOK... James knocked on the door and opened it slowly. It appears that his father's figure behind the desk was struggling with his laptop. "ahhhhh you guys have come apparently" James' father developed a smile towards them both, "sit down" james' father then walked to the sofa and invited Katie to sit down. "thank you" Katie replied as she returned James's father's smile.
"what's your name, son?" asked James' father to look at the face of the girl in front of him. "Katie sir" replied Katie. "don't call me master, you'll soon be my daughter-in-law, so call me father!" father James said softly. "good father" Katie who got very good treatment felt very happy and condolent.
"By the way, what's your busy life right now?" ask James' father to investigate. "i'm still in college" Katie replied shyly. "He's my student dad, we only met a few months ago when I first taught on campus" James helped explain to Katie not to answer wrongly.
"how old are you, son?" father looked back at his future son-in-law. "almost nineteen years old" Katie replied again. "wowwww, James, you look like a sugar daddy huh?" dad glanced at James and teased his son "dad!" james protested to hear his father's babble which was greeted with a small smile by Katie. The age of James and Katie is indeed quite far adrift which is about eleven years more. But with a handsome face and James' proportional body makes him look younger than his age.
"sooo, what's your next plan?" Profs. Jeremy then looked at his son and future son-in-law in turn. "i told Katie's father yesterday that I wanted to propose and marry her daughter, then Katie's father told her that he was waiting for her to propose to his daughter officially" James explained the events a few nights ago at Katie's house.
FLASHBACKS
Go back to James's office, "okay, you set the date, I want to meet Katie's dad as soon as possible and discuss your wedding day" James' dad said happily. "yes dad, if you can, I want to meet Katie's dad, I'm planning a day this week" James proposes the day in question. "good, I agree, the sooner the better!" then James' father walked back to his desk.
"let Katie go around the house, I want to get married later, you guys stay here with me" he said to James. "but yeah?" James was about to reject her, but was put down again because he saw Katie watching them both. "let's go!" take James and hold Katie's hand out of her father's office. "I'm sorry dad" Katie said goodbye to her future father-in-law, who was greeted with a nod and a warm smile.
"Your uncle is big like a palace, so why did you choose to live in a small apartment?" katie asked curiously while in the backyard near the pool. "i need some privacy" James replied, "but this house is big enough to keep every member of her family private, after all, aren't you two alone?" Katie analyzes the situation of James' house.
Actually the main reason why James lived in the apartment was because he wanted to avoid the father who continued to force him to marry and make him tired if he had to continue arguing with the same topic at all times he meeting with his father. "at least if tomorrow I am married and forced to live here, there will be no more coachman debate between me and my father on the issue of marriage and arranged marriage, because there is Katie who has been waiting for father for a long time" James muttered in his heart even though he was comfortable living in his own apartment.
After touring the house, Katie, James and Dad had dinner together. Dad took the opportunity to extract Katie's personal information as much as possible from her future daughter-in-law. "so what's your mother and father's name, son?" I asked Katie. "Rossie and August Peteroy" answered Katie on the sidelines. "why am I so familiar with your father's name?" james' father thought for a moment to remember the name August Peteroy he knew. "ahhhh may only have the same name" then the father continued his dinner.
Late at night, James finally said goodbye and invited Katie to go home to the apartment. "tomorrow Sunday morning I'll pick up dad ya" James then hugged his father. "dad, I'm saying goodbye" Katie also then emboldened herself to embrace her future father-in-law. "be careful in the way son" said the father gently to Katie.
The father, who had met Katie this afternoon, had the feeling that her future son-in-law was a good girl and fit to be the wife of his son James. Like there's already a familiar feeling he has with Katie, even when it's first. Katie, who was initially scared, felt that James' father was a kind and loving father. He felt his arrival was welcomed and full of warmth. Every question asked did not make it feel like it was being interrogated.
