Chapter 14
Because the injury to Katie's ankle is getting swollen and looks bruised, then this morning before leaving for campus James had consulted with Charlie his best friend who is also a doctor by telephone. After receiving painkillers prescribed by Charlie from a pharmacy on the lower floor of the apartment, James then told Katie to take painkillers and rest at home. As a result Katie can only lie in bed because the effects of the drugs taken make her continue to limp and sleepy throughout the day.
The ringing of the cell phone woke Katie from her nap. Janie's name appears as her twin sister is calling her. "hello" replied Katie in a hoarse voice as she had just woken up from sleep. "are you okay?" Janie immediately asked Katie without further ado. "i'm fine, why?" Katie lied. "i had a dream last night that you fell and your legs were injured" Janie replied anxiously. "ahhhhhh maybe you just miss me" as she covered her condition by teasing her twin brother.
Among the three of them, Janie is indeed the most sensitive, if one of the twin has a problem, usually Janie will be the one who will feel what her twin is experiencing through a dream. "thank goodness you're okay, anyway why don't you ever call us anyway? it's been almost a week since you left the house, but you never called at all and you only got a few short messages back in the group" Janie was upset with her twin sister.
"yes sorry, I'm so busy, do you know every day after college I have to work at the law office, and then the next night I have to do college work, I don't have time to rest at all" Katie made up a story to cover up what she's been going through in the past few days because of James. "i promise I'll tell you a lot" Katie tries to make Janie calm. "okay, all right, then be careful, take care of yourself" Janie tells Katie. "okay, be ready" Katie replies. "bye!" Janie says goodbye and hangs up.
James who saw Katie could walk better felt happy and calm. He came home early today because he was really worried about the condition of Katie's legs, although James did not like Katie, but somehow his feelings were always worried if away from Katie who was sick. "maybe this is just a sinful feeling" James said in his reassuring heart.
After cleaning himself, James exited the room and prepared to cook for dinner. "what are you doing?" katie asked James, who was slicing onions and bleeding his finger from a knife. "you why the hell always make me shit?" hardik James who was surprised because suddenly there was a voice behind him. "why are you angry? I'm just asking" Katie pouted and lowered her head, a moment later her eyes were fixed on James's finger, which was bleeding heavily from the scratches of the kitchen knife she was using. "you're bleeding!" The shocked Katie immediately gripped James' finger and put it in his mouth to suck his blood. "what are you doing?" The confused James immediately pulled his finger out of Katie's mouth, but was held by Katie for a few seconds. "puehhhh" after it was felt that her blood did not flow again, then Katie pulled out all the blood she had sucked from James' finger into the sink. "i'm holding your blood back from continuing to come out" Katie then gargled with tap water. "let me treat it!" Katie then leads James to the TV room.
James was silent when Katie wrapped her fingers in plaster. "other times be careful when holding a knife" Katie advised James. "what???? you're the one who's been making me so shocked to the point of bleeding! why even told me to be careful" James glared at Katie. "ishhhh basic man judes!" Katie who was upset then walked towards the room with her limp legs. While James who was still sitting on the sofa showed a mysterious smile that was difficult to interpret while staring at a finger wrapped in plaster.
