"Anna, marry me!"

"I know you doubt. I understand that you feel like we're two strangers who don't know each other. You might think I was just joking. But I'm really not kidding about wanting to marry you, An. Let me take care of you."

Daffa's voice again flashed in Anna's mind. At that moment he was lying on the bed. Trying to close his eyes but Daffa's voice kept coming and teasing him.

Daffa was right to take her home this afternoon. When she got home, Anna went upstairs and went into her room.

Anna doesn't care about the door blow by Mama Ira. Given what her mother had done, Anna felt very angry.

Although he forced to close his eyes, hoping to greet him until a dream. But Daffa's voice came back and came again.

"And do you not think, An. If you were to follow the matchmaking with the man earlier, what life would you live in the future?"

"I've also investigated Frans. Yep. I've been investigating it. And I can say he's not a good guy. I think you already know."

"The one thing that I have in our marriage, if you ever want this marriage, is not about me trying to protect you. I just want to take care of you. So please allow me to always be by your side, if not behind you."

Anna nodded back. The clock indicates the change of day. It's midnight, and Anna's still not sleeping. He returned the last sentence Daffa said to him just before he got out of his expensive car.

"Please consider my offer, Anna. Let me be your protector through this marriage. I won't ask for more than you can give me."

"And if one day you find the man you love, the man who is willing to protect you with all his life, I... "

Here Daffa stopped talking. While Anna who heard him held her breath.

"I'll let you go with him. If indeed he can love you more than or as much as I have for you."

After placing himself in 4 prayer rakaat, he was especially praying.

"Allah, O Rabb.. I am serving You. I crept up to ask for Your love. I ask You for guidance in the face of all the problems I face today."

"If indeed Daffa is the one whom you choose to be the savior of my life, the priest for half of my life, please give me a hint. Give me peace of heart. Give me clarity in making choices in my life."

"Please bring me. My family is also my family. Protect us from all the evils of the world and the ugliness of the Hereafter. And accompany us with the good ones whom You have kept alive and dead. Aamiins. Allahumma.."

The next day, Anna woke up as usual at 5. After the tahajud prayer last night, thank goodness he was able to sleep in the end.

Anna even had a good dream. The dream, which he thought was a hint from God for his prayer last night. Until finally he got the peace he wanted.

Anna knew what her choice would be. So he continued his morning activities with a spacious heart. He no longer felt anger the next morning when he met Mama Ira.

The thin smile that Anna gave Mama Ira made her mum fall for a moment. Mama Ira almost forgot to ask Anna what happened at the Sphera boutique yesterday afternoon. But he asked Anna, too.

"Anna. Yesterday there was a Sphera boutique waitress delivering a note of Mama's dress order. Why isn't the note on you?" Ask Mama Ira.

With ease Anna replied,

"Oh. sorry, Ma. Anna forgot to bring it. So yesterday we were handed the same boutique waiter."

"O so.. Then, who did you come home with yesterday? your college friend?" Search Mama Ira.

Anna smiled faintly.

"Yes, Ma. He's Anna's friend."

"It seems like Mama doesn't know him yet. That's not Karina's car, is it?"

"No, Ma. That's Anna at Daffa."

"Daffa? Who's she?"

Anna silently did not answer. But Mama Ira didn't give up on asking.

"Frans last night phone. He said you had a girlfriend. Is Daffa the one? which one is he? whose child? his parents are a great family, right?" ask Mama Ira.

In the end Anna's patience was depleted. He explained to Mama Ira in long and clear sentences.

"Ma. Anna respects Mama like Anna's own mother. No matter how Mama's attitude toward Anna has been, Anna still wants to respect Mama."

" But Anna asked Mama. Please don't cross Anna's privacy line. Let Anna choose Anna's own mate."

"About Frans, Anna will still reject him, Ma. Sorry if Anna didn't follow Mama's advice. Anna promised not to interfere with Mama's life. So please give Anna some privacy as well in making a choice. Okay, Ma? Anna's leaving first."

And Anna passed away to her college with a big heart.
