Fugitives

The week before news of Whiteblood last broke, Eden was already in Devonia City. He's here with one goal, which is to find Mender Blackclaws.

He asked the people there, they replied that Mender was last seen in the rice fields. Eden headed there, he even had to check some rice barns there, but the results were nil.

Mender is known for being a great spy and sleeper. In the past, he had worked for the Esdiener Empire, one of the three empires on the continent. He served as Commander of the Vanerie Forces, a special force owned by the Esdiener Empire.

He worked for 5 years there, before he came out with a reason.

Now, Eden has to find her presence in a city this big. The situation is the same as looking for a needle in a pile of hay.

When Eden was walking on the public road while pulling his horse, he was approached by a girl riding with a firm and cold face. He was dressed like a soldier with a high position, his horse-punched hair reminded Eden of Allen, a girl who sucks.

"Excuse me, I want to ask you" said the girl who was none other than Alice, without getting off her horse.

Eden stopped her steps and turned to Alice.

"Blackclaws.." murmured Alice. He knew the name of the Eden clan because of his golden eyes.

"Did you see this guy in town?" He showed me a poster of Mender's face. "I'm looking for him, he's a fugitive"

"No, I haven't seen the man before" Eden replied. He is half honest, half not.

"Oh, yeah. Well, thanks for the info. If you see this man, please report it to the security services"

"Yes, I understand"

Alice then runs her horse back, Eden also steps from there. The girl looked back through her chin.

"I think I should follow those Blackclaws"

Eden stopped by a tavern that wasn't too big. It was not crowded, only visited by four men. Eden parked his horse outside and stepped inside.

He ordered and sat down at one of the tables. He noticed a man with a mouthpiece reading a roll of paper in the corner.

Not long after, the drink came. Eden gulped it down slowly, he glanced at the man, but he had already disappeared from his place.

This made Eden suspicious. Apparently, the man stepped out. Eden immediately got up and followed him from behind. The man was seen mingling with some residents there, occasionally he chatted with them.

Eden felt wrong, he was about to turn to the tavern, but someone patted him on the shoulder.

Eden looked over and found the man behind her.

"A tired of following me?" ask the man.

Eden frowned. "Why do you know?"

"Because you're my nephew"

Eden immediately pulled out his dagger, he immediately realized that the man was going to attack him. Eden held back the man's sword slash.

Eden pulled out another dagger and attacked the man's face, but he moved quickly back and ran away from Eden.

"Damn it" said Eden.

Then the girl arrived with two horses. "Hurry, I'll help you catch up to him"

Although confused, Eden still climbed onto one of the horses. They both chased after the man.

His running movements were extremely fast, even beating the speed of a horse. They passed through a market filled with people.

"He trapped us here" Alice grumbled.

Eden soon came down and broke into a line full of merchants and buyers there.

"Hey, wait!" Alice did not want to miss, she soon caught up with Eden without her horse.

The man entered a large building. Eden who was still running in the street saw him go in there. When Eden entered, it turned out that the building was the rest of the abandoned building. There's no one here, there's only a few things that are dusty because they were left behind.

Eden went through the building on the first floor, and Alice came.

"Where is he?" ask Alice who did not respond to Eden. He kept going around there, then he caught a shadow that went up to the second floor.

"That's it" Eden immediately chased after her, Alice following up from behind. They went up through the stairs and arrived at the second floor which was almost the same as the first floor.

Eden threw his dagger at one of the pillars of the building. There came out the man earlier by replying to Eden's throw with a black fireball.

"Water Release - Elephant Head Form!"

Alice touched the floor of the building with both hands, then appeared the head of the giant elephant, protecting them from the black fireball.

"Water Release - Snake Shoot!"

The elephant's head turned into a water snake that shot towards the man. Eden increased the flow of electricity to the water, making its power increase.

"YARRGGGH!!!"

The man screamed loudly after being hit by their combo attack. But all of that is just a trick. The man's body hardened into stone and shattered into pieces.

"I thought so" said Eden.

"What do you mean you expected it?" alice asked in a tone that sounded suspicious of Eden.

"Mender mastered the ability of form, he could make a clone of himself from everything he touched" he replied.

"Who are you really? How did you know Mender had that ability?" Alice folded her hands on her chest.

"What's in it? You're after Mender, aren't you? Why do I need to know my identity?" Eden stared at Alice. "Now, he managed to escape" he continued.

"You're blaming me?" ask Alice.

"Yes, you destroyed the clone. If the clone is still alive, we can track Mender through the Qube stream of his cloned body"

"I? You also destroyed it!" Alice became even more annoyed at this man before her.

"Whatever you say. With that much power, living people would also die or die at a minimum"

"Oh yeah?! Why are you pretending to hunt me now?"

"You'd better go after this guy with your men. You don't know who you're after"

"I don't care. I'll keep chasing him and stop chasing me!" Alice began to move her legs closer to Eden. "I don't know what your business is with Mender, but I'll kill him with my own hands"

"Just kill someone else" replied Eden who made Alice more black.

Suddenly, the sound of clapping was heard from the left side of the second floor. They looked at him at the same time, there was Mender leaning against the wall near the window.

Alice immediately pushes Eden, but Eden catches Alice's arm and hurls her against the pillar of the building. Alice's back hit the pillar and sat for a moment.

Seeing that opportunity, Eden quickly jumped out the same window as the Mender's running path earlier.

"Damn.." Alice got up and caught up with them.

Mender ran in the streets, followed by Eden far behind him. Mender saw a horse-drawn carriage not far in front of him, he immediately climbed into the horse-drawn carriage.

"See you" Mender waved at Eden.

Eden knew Mender would not be overtaken. He saw a horse-drawn wagon that was walking slowly, Eden immediately got on the wagon and told his coachman to speed up the speed of his vehicle. Seeing Eden holding a sword, the coachman immediately complied.

On the other hand, Alice ran from building to building. He could see Eden and Mender in front of him.

One of the elements controlled by Alice is the Element of Life or plants. It can control plants from outside as well as inside its body.

Alice pulled out an elastic plant branch from her right arm, the branch extending and binding at the end of the tower there. Then, he wrapped it around his right hand and then he swung like a Spiderman.

The girl approached Eden. When Eden realized her arrival, Alice slid her foot into Eden's face until the man almost fell off the horse-drawn carriage.

"I'll catch you later!" exclaim Alice.

He continued to Mender who was sitting looking at him.

"You underestimated me, huh? All right, I'll show you who I really am" Alice murmured.

Alice prepares to use her Flicker abilities. In this case, Mender does not know where Alice will appear.

"Oh?" Unfortunately, Mender is too good. She knew Alice was behind her. He deflected Alice's sword with his sword.

They're pushing swords up there.

"You killed my family" Alice said in a hateful tone.

"I don't remember" Mender responded coldly. He maneuvered quickly to the side, so Alice was surprised and lost balance.

He almost fell if Mender could not stand it. Now, Alice's position is on the roof of the train. One more step back, it will fall if Mender does not strangle him.

"You're a security officer but weak. You are no match for me" Mender said.

"Ughhh!" Alice grabbed Mender's arm, but it was useless.

Suddenly, a black lightning appeared above them. Opening the teleportation gate and taking out Eden from there. Mender glanced at Eden and smiled faintly.

"You've mastered it, yes" muttered Mender.

Eden slashed his sword at Mender, but the man dodged quickly and released Alice, so that the girl would fall from there. Eden opened the teleportation gate again behind Alice and moved it beside her.

"I.. didn't fall?" Alice was confused. He looked towards Eden who was beside him. Eden himself was staring at Mender who was before them at this moment.

"This man saved me?" Inner Alice.

"Mender, I'm here to ask for your help" Eden said.

"You're serious?" ask Mender.

"I hate you and you're so annoying, but you're better than him" Eden said.

Mender stroked his chin. "For what?"

Eden took a breath. "On Ethinos"

"Ah, that organization, yes. I thought they were gone"

"Wait, wait, you know this organization?"

"Of course, Ethinos has been around for a long time but originally this organization was just a collection of royal forces consisting of the Demi-Human race. Led by a snake, Sava Sanairi"

Suddenly, Alice entered into their conversation. "Just continue this conversation later, I have to kill that jerk first" Alice looked coldly at Mender.

Eden raised her sword to the side, right in front of Alice's neck. "I need it, if you want to kill him who I'm talking to later?" ask Eden who made Alice choke on her own breath.

"We got off this train, and we talked" Mender said. Eden agrees and Alice is forced to follow him if she does not want to get involved with Eden which she considers strong. Alice had to think twice about facing Eden.

After getting off the car and stopping at the little shop, they talked.

"I don't know what your reason is for wanting to kill him so badly. If-"

"He killed my family" Alice said, cutting off Eden's words. Hearing that, Eden glanced at Mender.

"That day, on the eve of autumn, 10 years ago. Our village was attacked by a group of masked men. I was 8 years old and hid at home with my mother and two brothers. My father went out to secure the village.

Little Alice was hugged by her sisters, while her mother was in front of them, on standby if any enemies entered. With a machete in his hand, he stood protecting his three children.

Outside there were already many sounds of shouting, sword fighting and explosions. His mother was trying to calm them down, suddenly from outside the window, a human head appeared and landed in front of them. Alice and her two sisters screamed hysterically.

Alice's father is seen holding an enemy at the door. He was so troubled that he had to go into the house and be restrained by the wall.

His father called them to run, but the enemy killed him. Little Alice shouted to see her father's death.

His mother immediately told her three children to run into the kitchen, there was a secret underground door that penetrated out of the village. However, when they were together there, his mother was stabbed by an arrow from behind.

She fell to the floor, her three children did not stop crying to see her dying. However, Mother Alice tried to smile with all her might and told them to run away. Eldest sister Alice immediately pulled her two arms to the door.

Arriving there, Alice is allowed to enter first. Then they heard footsteps entering the house. Eldest sister Alice immediately took the hoe, intending to restrain the person so that her two younger siblings could leave.

Second sister Alice took the initiative to help her eldest brother. He wanted to ban it, but the man would approach. Alice was pushed in and the door was closed and hidden with some stuff.

As a result, both of them had to deal with the person. From inside the door, Alice covered her mouth with both her hands to keep from making a sound. As time went on, Alice heard the screams of her two Sisters, her breathing hunting and heart pounding fast. His tears had also been dripping a lot, he wanted to scream but he steeled himself to hold all of that first.

At that moment, he heard the name Mender. His name was mentioned by the man who had just killed his two older brothers. At that moment he was talking to the other person. They spoke that Mender pulled them all back from the village.

Alice ran underground and exited the connecting door outside the village. It

"And right then and there, I swore to hunt you down and kill you" Alice clasped the food fork. He was about to stand up and finish off Mender, but Eden grabbed him by the shoulder and told him to calm down.

"I remember that, the day, the month, the season and the year, I remember everything" Mender said, looking guilty and moody. "But I didn't command them"

Alice frowned. "What do you mean?"

"It's not me you're after, but my brother..."

Instantly, Eden's body trembled. He clenched his hand tightly.

"Brian Blackclaws's. He was the one responsible for the incident" Mender continued.
