The Last Queen of Peacelava

CHAPTER 19

In front of the palace had gathered the Yibo master and some soldiers who were waiting for Xin Qian and Zhang Pei. Xin Qian and Zhang Pei got there.

Zhang Pei helped Xin Qian to board the royal carriage. After that Zhang Pei climbed onto his horse and started walking in front of the carriage that Xin Qian was riding on.

While on the way, the Yibo master who was beside Xin Qian's carriage continued to stare at Xin Qian's gloomy face.

"Daughter, why don't you look so excited? Is there something you're thinking about?" Master Yibo opens talks.

"Master, I'm just worried about Ji Nian."

"What are you worried about? Ji Nian will soon recover, you don't have to worry."

"But Ji Nian became like that because of me. I feel so guilty for him."

"Daughter, stop thinking like that! Ji Nian is a chief, and his main job is to protect you. So you don't have to worry if he gets hurt for saving you, because that's his responsibility."

"You're going to meet the people, so it's not worth it if you put on such a gloomy face."

Zhang Pei slightly turned his head on hearing their conversation. Xin Qian was silent and then smiled.

As they reached the countryside, one of the soldiers helped Xin Qian to get off the train. The people welcomed their arrival warmly.

Without saying much, Xin Qian asked one of the Soldiers to bring a box that was behind the carriage. The box contained a swarm of fireflies that he would scatter in the rural sky.

Xin Qian grabbed the box and opened it. A swarm of fireflies flew over it, it then cast a magic that made the fireflies glow very brightly. The swarm of fireflies now spread out and illuminated the skies of Peacelavia.

"Daughter, we are very grateful to you as well as the royal members. You always help the people who are in trouble" said one of the people.

"We just want peace, we're happy if we can help you," Xin Qian replied.

"These fireflies will accompany your night and they will go away by themselves when the sun rises." Master Yibo explained.

"Good, Master. Once again we thank you for helping us."

After quite a long conversation, the Yibo master invited Xin Qian and his entourage to return to the palace. They say goodbye to everyone who is there.

While on their way home, a tiger suddenly passed in front of them. Suddenly it made the person who runs the palace carriage pull the rope that binds two horses. The palace carriage suddenly stopped and made Xin Qian almost hit.

Zhang Pei asked the Yibo master for permission to pursue the tiger. Master Yibo allowed it and Zhang Pei went to look for the tiger.

He saw patches of blood splattered there, then he followed the patches. After passing through the thick enough bushes, Zhang Pei finally met a tiger.

Zhang Pei was very surprised to see the tiger he was looking for had a severe injury to his leg. The tiger also gave birth to a baby. Zhang Pei approached the tiger and treated it immediately.

"Master, can you do something for me?"

"What do you want?"

"Master, I'm no longer able to endure this pain. Even though you have treated me, but still today is the last day I live in the world."

"What did you say? You have to stay alive, this baby still needs his mother a lot."

"Master, please take my baby to the palace and take good care of him. Later when he grows up, he will serve you."

The baby tiger smiled happily as his mother kissed him on the face for the first and last time.

"I gave her the name Lani, so that she would become a female tiger that could benefit you as well as others."

The tiger master walked up to Zhang Pei and took the crystal out of his head, then Zhang Pei took the crystal. As soon as the tiger mother fell, Zhang Pei examined her and found the tiger mother lifeless.

Zhang Pei walked over to Lani who was smiling at him. Zhang Pei smiled and brought Lani back to his entourage.

Arriving there, the Yibo master directly descended from his horse when he saw Zhang Pei's clothes were filled with blood.

Xin Qian who heard that if Zhang Pei had returned, he immediately got off the carriage. He was very surprised to see Zhang Pei's blood-soaked clothes and carrying a baby tiger.

"Zhang Pei, what happened?"

"The mother of this baby is dead and she asked me to take care of her baby."

"Then we must return to the palace immediately."

Inside the room, Shishi is seen sitting on a chair and reading a book, as he looks out the window to hear the sound of the entourage from the palace having returned. Shishi walked up to the window and opened the curtain that covered it.

"What is he carrying?" Shishi was curious about something wrapped in cloth and carried by Zhang Pei. Shishi then went to catch up with Zhang Pei.

"Daughter, I'll take Lani to my room."

"You gave him the name Lani?"

"It wasn't me, but his mother gave him that name."

"His mother must have wanted him to be a child who could benefit others."

"You're right."

"Master, can I hold him? This baby tiger is so funny." Shishi grabs Lani from Zhang Pei.

"Where is the mother of this baby tiger? When you find him he's abandoned" Shishi asked as he held the baby tiger.

"His mother died after giving birth to her," Zhang Pei replied.

"What a shame your fate. But you don't have to worry, I'll help master Zhang Pei to take care of you." Shishi stroked Lani's fine fur, but Lani instead kicked Shishi in the face with both feet.

That made Zhang Pei and Xin Qian laugh. Zhang Pei grabbed Lani and carried her.

"I don't think Lani wants you to carry her." Zhang Pei smiled and passed by just like that.

"Shishi, don't listen to Zhang Pei. He jokes a lot." Xin Qian left Shishi alone.

"It's so upsetting," Shishi said.

Xin Qian went to Ji Nian's room, but back then she didn't see Ji Nian in her room. Xin Qian felt that someone was approaching her from behind, she turned around.

"Ji Nian!" Xin Qian was surprised to see Ji Nian who was suddenly in front of her.

Ji Nian laughed happily as it managed to make Xin Qian surprised.

"You happy now?" Xin Qian walked over to the window.

"Daughter, why are you angry just for a little thing like this?" Zhang Pei stood beside Xin Qian.

"Ji Nian, I'm not angry at all." Xin Qian looked at the sky.

"Don't the moon shine bright tonight?"

"true."

Ji Nian slowly touched Xin Qian's hand then grasped it, Xin Qian was surprised then turned her head towards Ji Nian.

"Daughter, every second I spend with you is a joy to me." Ji Nian then closed his eyes and let out a long sigh.

Xin Qian still looked at Ji Nian then smiled.
