CHAPTER 17
THE PEACELAVIAN STATE
Xin Qian pulled her arrow from the bow, the arrow was precisely hitting the number ten. Xin Qian smiled in disbelief if she was able to do that.
"Zhang Pei, did you see that?" Xin Qian looked towards her arrow.
"Daughter, you learn so fast." Zhang Pei looked at Xin Qian's face and smiled.
"It's all because of you, thank you for teaching me." Xin Qian passed her bow to Zhang Pei.
"You feeling good?"
"Of course."
"Daughter, will you take the time to have tea with me?"
"alright. I'll have tea with you."
They went to the edge of the lake near the palace and laid out a mat. A lady brought tea for them. They laugh together and tell each other about the life they are living.
While searching for Zhang Pei, master Chen and master Lin were told by Dayang that Zhang Pei was at the edge of the lake to have tea with princess Xin Qian.
They went to the back of the palace to catch up with Zhang Pei and Xin Qian. Arriving there, master Chen wanted to reprimand Zhang Pei for not being too close to the Princess.
"What are you gonna do?" Master Lin restrained the shoulder of master Chen who was about to approach Zhang Pei and Xin Qian.
"I must rebuke Zhang Pei. She shouldn't be too close to Xin Qian's daughter, because the demon could just lose control when her pure energy runs out," retorted master Chen who was worried about Xin Qian's daughter.
"Master Chen, Zhang Pei won't do anything bad to the princess." Master Lin was convincing.
"Why are you so sure, master Lin if Zhang Pei won't do anything bad to the princess?"
"Master Chen, did you forget that Zhang Pei also has human blood in his body? After all, we have also never seen princess Xin Qian laughing so loosely like this after the queen's departure."
"You're right, Master. I should have thought about it."
"We'd better let the Princess spend some time with Zhang Pei, we should also take a look at Ji Nian's condition."
Zhang Pei and Xin Qian toasted and then drank the tea with the cup they were holding. Jokes and laughter adorn their beautiful moments.
Xin Qian felt very happy because this was her first time she was made to laugh freely by a man.
Ji Nian did make her smile a lot, but somehow Xin Qian felt more comfortable when she was with Zhang Pei.
A cold wind blew towards them and made Xin Qian's long hair block her view. The voice that had been crowded with jokes now became silent.
Zhang Pei brought his face closer to Xin Qian's ears. He slowly raised his hand and put Xin Qian's hair behind his ears. The two of them stared at each other then Xin Qian lowered her gaze.
"Pardon, Princess. I'm just-"
"Princess ...."
Xin Qian stood up and looked around her as she heard the sound of someone stepping on a tree branch.
Xin Qian felt that someone was watching them, he then cast a spell. Suddenly the wind blew and shook the trees that were there.
"Daughter, what are you doing?" Zhang Pei stood up and blocked the leaves that fell towards him.
Instantly, a soldier hiding behind a tree walked up and down toward Xin Qian. He fell on his stomach right in front of Xin Qian.
"Soldier, what are you doing? Are you spying on us?" zhang Pei asked casually as he thrust out his sword.
Xin Qian slowly lowered the sword that Zhang Pei was carrying.
"Soldiers, wake up!" xin Qian said slowly.
The soldier stood up and bowed his body saluting Xin Qian.
"Now tell me what you're doing here!" exclaim Xin Qian.
"Please, Princess. His Majesty the King wants to meet the Princess," the Soldier replied by lowering his head.
"Then why didn't you tell me directly? Why hide like that?"
"Daughter, actually I want to tell the Princess directly. But the servant sees the Princess with master Zhang Pei being ...."
"What meda?"
"You guys are very close, so I dare not go to see the Princess."
After hearing the Soldier's words, Xin Qian and Zhang Pei looked at each other and felt embarrassed.
"Listen, Soldier! Zhang Pei only set aside the hair that was blocking my view. Don't think about anything else! Zhang Pei and I will meet Father."
Xin Qian invited Zhang Pei to enter the palace and meet the King without looking at his face. Zhang Pei smiled and followed Xin Qian.

Upon the arrival of Xin Qian and Zhang Pei in the throne room, king Arlo immediately stood up from his seat followed by the masters. Xin Qian and Zhang Pei bowed their bodies saluting the king.
"What did Father call me?"
"Xin Qian, Daddy wants to introduce you to someone."
"Who's Father?"
King Arlo asked someone to come face to face him so that Xin Qian could see the person.
A woman wearing a purple-colored hanfu walked over from behind Xin Qian and Zhang Pei. He saluted everyone who was there.
"Ayahanda, who is he?"
"Xin Qian, he is Shishi. She was the daughter of my good friend, Wu Jing."
"Then where is Wu Jing's uncle, Father? Why not come here?"
"Xin Qian, Wu Jing has passed away. That's why Ayahanda invited her daughter to stay in the palace with us. You don't mind if Shishi stays in this palace?"
"Of course not, Father. I'm glad that Shishi lives in this palace with us."
"Thank you, princess Xin Qian."
"Don't thank me, thank Ayahanda."
"Thank you, Your Majesty the King."
"Honey!!"
"Hamba, Your Majesty the King."
"Take Shishi to his room. From today he will stay in this palace."
"Okay, Your Majesty the King."
Shishi follows Dayang's palace who will deliver him to the room. While walking, Shishi looked at the palace walls in awe. Eventually they arrived in front of a room.
"Miss, this is your room. Please rest."
"Thank you."
"Okay, I'll go first."
"Wait on! I have something to ask."
"What is that, Miss?"
"The man behind Xin Qian's daughter earlier, is she Xin Qian's daughter's lover?"
"No, he is Zhang Pei's master. Master Zhang Pei is indeed close to Xin Qian's daughter."
"Alright, then you can go."
"Good."
Shishi went into his room and locked the door, astonished at the sight of the whole room. He then sat on the bed and remembered the words of Dayang earlier.
"The handsome man was named Zhang Pei and he was not the lover of Xin Qian's daughter. That means I have a great chance of approaching him" he murmured.
"I'm no less beautiful than princess Xin Qian, I can definitely get Zhang Pei very easily" she continued.
In the throne room Xin Qian was still standing in front of the King. The king asked Xin Qian to spread fireflies in the rural area when night fell.
The state of the houses in the countryside is still dark and the people use the lights for lighting because of the development that has not been fully carried out.
"Xin Qian, this should be the responsibility of chairman Ji Nian. But we all know that chairman Ji Nian is still recovering, so I leave this responsibility to you." King Arlo stood up from his throne and clenched his hands behind his back.
"It's okay, Dad. I'm very happy if I can help," Xin Qian replied with a sweet smile.
"alright. Master Yibo and a few soldiers will accompany you to the countryside."
"Your Majesty the King, if allowed the servant also wants to go accompany princess Xin Qian." Zhang Pei stepped forward and stood beside Xin Qian.
"Alright, Zhang Pei. You can go accompany princess Xin Qian."
"Thank you, Your Majesty."
