The Journey of Eternity

The Journey of Eternity
The Fire Maid - IV

From behind the thick trees of the forest, the wind blows softly and brushed off the lush foliage. Arlo was running very fast against the wind current that hit his short hair. His gaze was fixed sharply towards the front as if there was something so important he had to get right now.

He darted among the dense trees in the forest, but an annoyed look mixed with confusion seemed to adorn his straying face. He stopped his footsteps and looked around. Suddenly something began to envelop from behind Arlo and a shadowy figure appeared beside him.

“It looks like they've moved quite a distance, Mr. Arlo.” Whisper the figure of a beautiful woman in a fiery red dress beside Arlo standing.

“Can you do something, Liya?” sahut Arlo without a hint of shifting his eyes.

“There is nothing I can do with this, Sir. But it looks like the boy deliberately left something in front. Your distance is not too far.” Close Liya, vanishing from behind Arlo's shadow.

Arlo shot towards the intended direction, in order to catch up as quickly as possible the whereabouts of the child. Until it looks from a distance, a blue gem with dry blood that partially covers it. Suddenly he was awakened by the black mark of burning fire at the base of the gem, clearly this belonged to Leo, he thought. He stuck the jewel at his waist and continued his steps.

In the middle of his journey, the birds that were originally perched quietly on top of tree branches suddenly flew chaotically over the forest and scattered everywhere. It was then that the figure of the man stopped his footsteps and turned his eyes away.

Clearly there was a burning fire ahead, he paused for a moment with careful listening. Not long after, the trees in front began to be seen burning by a huge blaze.

He immediately caught up with the fire, ascertaining the truth. Up there, it appeared that two men who were subordinates of Vion had been screaming in pain and flames were burning all over his body.

“Arkk! Ark...!” exclaim the two of them by running here and there.

While Daniel who still carries Leo's presence on his arm, just turned his head heavily back. Vion beside him turned around as quickly as possible and tried to put out the fire. But his efforts were in vain because the two of them only ran to and fro, making it a hassle.

“Hei! You people! Stop moving so I can put it out, you idiot!” he said in a very upset tone.

“Arkk! The heat! Hot!” they could not hear his master's sentence as it was only busy with himself.

As a result both burned down by the fire without rest.

Daniel glanced at the same child in his arms, as Leo looked away, pretending not to know anything even though he was the one who did it.

“Why since a long time ago that little boy was always troublesome like you!” annoyed, Daniel throws Leo with both hands floating away.

Just as the little boy was about to hit one of the trees there, he was briefly recaptured by Arlo in his arms. With an extremely irritated look on his face, Arlo stared intently at Daniel. But a moment later he turned his back on Leo who looked very tired.

“Are you okay?” chirps Arlo with an anxious look at the child.

“Ak-I think I will..” looks both of his eye buds began to dim until finally he was unconscious in Arlo's arms.

“Leo! Leo! Awake, Son!” Arlo shouted while rocking Leo's little body in his arms.

From where he was, Daniel approached and stood beside Vion and glanced at him. From a distance he whispered something to his subordinates that changed the look on Vion's annoyed face and looked he nodded in understanding.

“According to your dispute Mr.” Vion said as he glanced at Leo's whereabouts from a distance.

A moment later, he vanished from existence leaving Daniel there.

“Why? You expelled your subordinates because you were afraid that he would see your defeat?” chirp Arlo in a condescending tone.

“Supremely with what you think. It's just that I gave him some other tasks. You don't have to worry too much.” Daniel's Law.

“So?”

Arlo did not in the slightest twitch from where he stood while continuing to put on a sharp face full of vigilance against his opponent. Not long after, it seemed Daniel was the one who started the fight for the first time.

Something seemed to creep out from both hands to make Arlo feel disgusted from a distance. Slowly it turned into a pair of weapons in both hands. Two sword blades were wielding in both of his hands. With a faint smile on his lips, he took a step at a distance.

“So you started the fight?” chuck Arlo while keeping Leo in his arms.

“That's when you don't mind. Besides, can I ask you something?” Daniel didn't look serious.

Arlo doesn't seem to care about the words Daniel says.

“Why do you bother to chase after someone as foreign as that child? What is your business doing this? What if the owner gets angry like this, hmm?” daniel said with a faint smile on his lips.

“So you claim to be the owner? It seems like a child does not deserve to be enforced like that.” said Arlo with a smile on his lips.

Without waiting for anything else, Daniel launched his attack by drawing the two swords towards Arlo and forcing him to keep dodging while carrying Leo in his arms. This time he did not dare to leave the existence of Leo from him, considering he did not know what kind of enemy he faced this time.

From where he stood, without the slightest moment of time to relieve his breath, Daniel continued to attack him with both blades of his sword. Until something floated up from behind Daniel at the same time as he launched his attack. The man dodged without looking at what was behind him, as if he knew what was going to happen. Arlo immediately pulled his body before something hit him.

A sword darted and stuck in one of the trees right next to him stood. In a depressed condition, Daniel puts his sword on the other side of Arlo's existence. In an instant, the two of them emitted a bright blue light and connected to each other.

Not long after, the figure of the same man with a flaming red scythe shot over his head and stuck his scythe in front of Arlo was.

“I think you missed,” chirped Arlo.

“I don't think so.” Vion's voice that had retracted his scythe.

...(----------------)...

In a narrow place with a dim light, Arlo gasped and fell on the ground. The unpleasant aroma stung his nose to make him cough because of the aroma. He glanced around and realized a place he was incising was a pile of rotting corpses with mutilated body carcasses.

In the hollows of the walls beside it, the head is on display in a rotting condition and there are also bones that have been left in the form of a skull. His stomach felt more and more like in the stirring as he looked around him standing, irregular body carcasses scattered everywhere with forms that were not commonplace.

Until he realized it by something hanging on his waist. A jewel covered in blood reminded him of something.

“I have to find a way out.” He muttered with a firm grip on the eyes and went away from there.

Step by step led him through a pile of corpses and bones. Along the way there was only a dim light with no clear end. Until the same figure of the woman in her red dress floated beside Arlo walking and saying something.

“Mr Arlo, it looks like you've only been circling since. Coupled with a scent like this, are you okay?” chirped Liya with her anxious face.

“Liya, If you came just to say that, wouldn't it be useless to call you right now?” sahut Arlo without a hint to take his eyes from where he walked.

“Sorry, Sir. Considering you were here through a portal, maybe you can only go out with portal.” Clearly the woman nodded her head.

“So, will this necklace be useful?” Arlo pointed at the red jewel hanging from his neck.

“Maybe, please try it yourself. Excuse me for a moment.” Liya simply vanished after her sentence was finished.

“Hoi! wait...!” Arlo who tried to hold back the woman's departure could only resign because it was too late.

Just as he did when connecting it to the portal tree, he grasped the jewel and light began to shine out of it. But somehow, after waiting for a few moments nothing happened to him even though he had done it many times.

Until accidentally the blue gem hanging in his waist which instead reacts and starts to attract Arlo's attention. Curiously, he began to take off his position and clasped in front of his body.

The light gradually began to brighten for no apparent reason. Without knowing what exactly he himself did, he stuck the tip of the gem into the ground and the jewel increasingly shone brightly around.

Suddenly the atmosphere started to feel changed, all the places from his range of view started to appear faint due to the white light that filled the entire place.

“It just so happened that I brought it.” Chirps Arlo, looks like a smile on his face.

Upon awakening, all the places had already returned to being the same dense forest. Without thinking any longer, Arlo again continued his steps. Right after regaining consciousness, Liya stood up by hovering beside him.

“Are you on purpose?” chirp Arlo in an annoyed tone while closing his eyes.

“Of course not, Mr. Arlo. I actually already knew the gem would react on its own. So I took another opportunity to trace the whereabouts of the enemy with the blood left in the gem, Mr.” Liya, as clear as possible.

Arlo just stood still and sighed, his scythe pulled out and scraping the tip on the rest of the blood attached to the gem. His body was jolted suddenly due to his influence. In that instant, he felt a great power roaring in the remnants of that life.

“Come fast Liya, it looks like the boy is already in danger!” arlo shouted that had darted between the trees.

Whose blood it was, Arlo thought curiously.

Not long after, it looks from the end of the forest is a cliff with rocks that mount here and there. Among the rocks, two men were no strangers to his sight. Leo was tied tightly and lying on a rock with a special carved pattern on the edge.

“Arkk! Ark...!” Leo groaned loudly by letting out a bright red round light that floated above his body.

“With this, time will be easier to master. What do you think, Vion?” chirp Daniel with a faint smile.

“Whatever you think, Sir. I will always agree. Only, will the two cores match each other?” sahut Vion with such a curious face.

“We'll see later, hahaha.” Daniel laughed with satisfaction.

“You look very happy yes, Mr. Daniel.” chirps someone who is walking closer from a distance.

With a heavy face, the two of them turned to the source of the voice and found the same figure of the man to make Vion's face look fed up.

“Oh? You again? I didn't think you could get out of that cage,” chirped Daniel who looked happy to him.

“You mean that disgusting place? I originally thought so too.” Arlo who had pulled his scythe out.

“Come on, don't say it like that. I felt a little offended this time. That place is like my experimental disposal paradise.”

“Whatever I care about!”

Arlo darted along with the scythe and pulled it towards the two men. With his response, Vion held back the attack that led to his master with the same scythe. He threw Arlo back and pierced each other with his own abilities. Clearly in accordance with what Daniel said, Vion is not a match for Arlo.

He was easily beaten here and there until he was completely cornered. Just as Arlo was about to cut through the man's body, something floated up in an instant and cut off one of Arlo's arms.
