Trace 14 - Magic.

Sure enough, after a while the doctor left. Arlo opened his eyes and looked to the left. He felt his body heavy and unable to move. The surrounding people were so happy to see Arlo coming to his senses, especially Eri who was still crying beside Arlo lying down. He began to recognize the people around him and put on a confused face.

“How's Arlo, are you feeling well?” ask uncle Eri.

“Yeah.. I think my head is done, but it feels like my body is still difficult to move” Arlo reply his face looks limp.

“Do you want to eat, or drink, or you want something to eat” asked Eri so excitedly, wiping her tears. Arlo looked at Eri with a small smile and said something.

Arlo nodded and asked for a plate of food and two glasses of water. Eri immediately went to get food in the bar kitchen and immediately took it into Arlo's room. Other people like Eri's uncle and Eri's father left them both. Immediately Eri fed Arlo who was still lying limp on the mattress.

“So... I failed to complete my duty debt that came here?. Too bad, how about you?” asked Arlo but he did not look at Eri.

“You think my work will also be finished?. Hearing you faint, I immediately followed here and how anxious I was to you” Eri's face seemed unhappy with the sentence Arlo said.

“Oh.”

“Only O-“

“Thank you.”

Eri shed a tear on her cheek and saw a thin smile on her lips from hearing Arlo's sentence. Arlo smiled faintly on his lips and closed his eyes for a moment then continued his feed that was bribed by Eri.

Not long after Arlo ate, his body felt light and moveable, he tried to sit and stand up. But his attempt to stand up was stopped by Eri. He insisted on waking up but still he could not win against the only woman before him.

Then Eri asks to explain What really happened in the place where Arlo works. Eri was so incredulous and even laughed at Arlo's words. Arlo smiles and laughs at him, and he seems to be in complete disbelief.

“Listen to Eri, I didn't lie or just make up stories but this really happened. Back then, when after the shadow gave my request, I felt that something in my body was coming out.

But because I was confused, it felt like the one who wanted to come out earlier went to my head and exploded there, it was like being shocked but the waves were bigger. Maybe this does sound silly but, after the explosion I could feel the magic in my body and control it, but after I took out the magic. I even fainted without cause” Arlo said his face was really serious.

Finally Eri smiled and nodded in confidence at Arlo's words, but Arlo still did not believe it and looked strangely at Eri. Eri laughs amusedly and the harder he laughs, Because of that Arlo laughs too.

Then Arlo quietly raised his right hand and let out another blue light without Eri's knowledge who was sitting next to him to clean the plate that Arlo had used before.

“You're heavy tau, so don't burden me too much!” snappy Eri, next to Arlo.

“Sorry, didn't you force me to lead me?, but thank you for helping me walk”

“Ya. yes.., you always have been.” Eri smiled sweetly, looking at Arlo.

“Of course-, uh. uh.” they both almost fell because Arlo was unconsciously standing alone and staggering.

Downstairs, three people were standing in small talk and joking. They are no strangers to Arlo and Eri. Mr. Harto who stood behind the long table of the bar, Uncle Eri and Arlo's superior who sat in front of him laughed together and joked while drinking from Harto's made. Then Arlo's superior saw the two men coming down the stairs slowly and greeted him.

“How's Arlo, done?” ask Arlo's superior money standing next door to Eri's uncle.

“Yah.. already feels light, because the food was I think. Sorry sir, again I can't finish my job properly” Arlo scratched his fist and looked down feeling guilty.

“No problem, it was also my fault for telling you to deal with that head. But, hope you get well soon, so can help me again soon, huh.?”

“Sure sir!” arlo's face was so excited.

That night Arlo went out of the inn and went out of the border. With his pitch-black robe, no one could recognize him. After a while he walked, arriving inside the forest in the middle of the night.

Arlo raised both his hands and his hands again gave off a blue-colored light.

But this time the light is darker and the light is brighter. With a single swab from his hand, he pointed it at one of the trees and made a hole in the middle of the tree. The tree is hollow and neatly cut and looks a few drops of water coming out of the tree trunk.

“Air? Is the magic elemental? From the very heavy cores it is.”

Arlo tried to get his hands back to make a hole out of the tree. But his experiments failed this time and so on until he became completely confused. In the end, there was no magic that he could cast again. He left the forest and returned to his inn.

On the way back, he felt that something was coming inside the forest with great force and was disturbing the village again, but he just assumed it was just his premonition. He continued on his way and saw someone standing in front of the gate after he crossed. A man who stared focused on the village and held something in his arms. But Arlo did not care about it anymore, the magic he used just now was enough to spend the rest of his energy.
