CHAPTER 25 "TRUST"
As usual, a morning meeting to pay respects was held at the Empress's residence. Five concubines were present and were still waiting for another concubine.
"Your Majesty I'm sorry I'm late" said a woman who had just entered the room.
"Sit down" said Lin Zi not wanting to prolong the matter.
"Your Majesty the Emperor was very violent last night, so I was very troubled. My body feels all the pain" said Liu Ying, who was not seated immediately.
"Am I asking? Don't know shame!" quipped Lin Zi cynically.
The other concubine again let down Liu Ying's sass. He is like a child who likes to show off. Intentions wanted to make Lin Zi jealous, but Lin Zi paid him no heed.
I don't feel like time is passing quickly. The sunlight is starting to turn yellow. It was Lin Zi who was standing on the lotus pond bridge. It seems like he is more often there now.
"Honor Your Majesty the Empress" said a woman approaching Lin Zi.
"What is the Empress doing here alone?" added Liu Ying seeing Lin Zi not answering her greeting.
"Find some fresh air" said Lin Zi.
"I guess His Majesty the Emperor also invited you to tea, it turns out I was wrong" Liu Ying said deliberately wanting to anger Lin Zi.
"Drink tea?"
"really. Earlier this morning before leaving the Taijing pavilion, His Majesty the Emperor invited the servants to have tea together in the lotus pond hut. It seems like His Majesty the Emperor only wants to drink tea alone with me" Liu Ying said heating up Lin Zi's heart.
"really? Then enjoy your time. I'll go" said Lin Zi who started to step up.

"The empress is waiting for you" Liu Ying said, stopping Lin Zi's footsteps.
Lin Zi turned to face Liu Ying, and Liu Ying approached her.
Liu Ying looked at Xuan who was walking over. He quickly pulled out Lin Zi's hands and acted as if Lin Zi was strangling him.
"Concubine Wei, what are you doing !" said Lin Zi trying to let go of her hand but Liu Ying's grip was stronger.
Xuan saw him and immediately walked towards him. Liu Ying's show is still unfinished. He threw himself into the pool and pretended he could not swim. That made Lin Zi really dumbfounded. He had only realized why Liu Ying was doing that. Xuan was now by his side and Hao Yi walked into the pond to save Liu Ying.
"What's going on here?!" tanya Xuan demanded an explanation.
Liu Ying had been brought up by Hao Yi and immediately knelt down in front of Xuan.
"Your Majesty, please give the servant justice" Liu Ying said in tears.
"The Queen is angry because last night I spent the night with you. He almost killed the servant. Your Majesty please uphold justice" Liu Ying added.
"Zi'er ?" call Xuan asking for an explanation from Lin Zi.
"Do you believe it?" asked Lin Zi calmly.
"I.." murmured Xuan doubtfully. He trusted Lin Zi, but he saw the incident with his own eyes.
"If you believe it then there's no point in me explaining it, you still won't believe me"
Sometimes in a relationship there are things that do not need to be explained. And as a couple you should be able to understand because you are the closest person who understands.
Xuan looked at Lin Zi's back which was getting further away leaving him. Lin Zi's chest felt tight because of Xuan's attitude which seemed to no longer believe him.
The sun has long been drowning. Lin Zi was still sitting glued to her dressing table with Ruyu helping her comb her hair. Lin Zi just stared at a hairpick with a lotus flower-shaped ornament she held on the table. A few times his finger twisted the hairpin.
"Your Majesty the Empress.." call Ruyu.
But Lin Zi did not respond to him in the slightest. His gaze is still empty.
"Your Majesty" Ruyu repeated made Lin Zi startled until the slightly pointed carved lotus petals pierced her palm.
"Ahh" shouted Lin Zi as he looked at his palm that started to bleed.
"Your Majesty, are you okay? I'll get you some medicine soon"
"No need" said Lin Zi.
"Small injuries only. After all, it will only remove a drop of blood, no need to overdo it" he added while wiping the blood that came out with a handkerchief.
"Did His Majesty the Emperor call a concubine again?" asked Lin Zi guessing what Ruyu wanted to say earlier.
"Today, His Majesty the Emperor called concubine Zhen" Ruyu said worried about Lin Zi's feelings.
Lin Zi let out a long breath.
"Ruyu...if that day I don't return to the palace, will Jing Xuan still be an Emperor?" asked Lin Zi to look at the past.

"You're sick, there's no need to pay your respects first" said Lin Zi helping Yiyi sit on the edge of her bed.
Ruyu also placed the tray she carried on the table.
"Honor Your Majesty the Empress" said a woman who had just entered.
"I heard Consort Zhen was sick so I came to see him. I can't believe the Empress is here either" Liu Ying said after saluting.
"Oh yeah, I brought ginger tea and a snack. You should drink the tea while it's still warm"
Ruyu holding the handle of the teapot was about to pour tea into the cup, but Liu Ying snatched it.
"Let me pour the tea"
Unbeknownst to others, Liu Ying sprinkled the white powder into a cup and poured the tea for the powder to mix immediately. After that he gave it to Yiyi and without hesitation Yiyi immediately drank it.
"How's it?" asked Lin Zi after Yiyi finished half a cup of her tea.

"Your Majesty the Emperor arrived" shouted the eunuch announcing Xuan's arrival.

"Saint ! The courage from which a concubine would search the Empress's residence?!" yin Zi snapped at Liu Ying.
"Go, I'll take care of this matter" Xuan told Liu Ying.
Liu Ying left them both.
"Zi'er. tell me the truth. If you say it I won't punish you" Xuan said as he held Lin Zi's shoulder and aligned his face.
"Jing Xuan, what exactly happened? What am I supposed to tell you?"
Xuan let go of his grip and went back to standing firm.
"Concubine Zhen was poisoned after drinking ginger tea from you. If you're right to do it, I won't punish you"
"You don't trust me?" asked Lin Zi guessing Xuan's expression.
"Jing Xuan, I really didn't do it.." explained Lin Zi with eyes that started to glaze over.

"Servant! Search this place!" said Xuan.
Several servants entered and ransacked the Lin Zi residence. No place has escaped inspection.
