CHAPTER 16 "SACRIFICE"

The arrow shot rapidly towards Lin Zi. But Xuan quickly hugged Lin Zi until the arrow struck his right back. Lin Zi was very surprised to see that event that arrived. His eyes widened and began to glaze over.

"Jing Xuan.." muttered Lin Zi fingered the arrow that had stuck on Xuan's back.

Slowly Xuan let go of his embrace and looked at the girl's face in front of him.

"Zi'er, are you okay?" xuan asked with a frown to endure the pain.

Lin Zi had yet to answer him and Xuan had fallen on his lap.

"Jing Xuan.you must remain conscious." said Lin Zi whose tears were pouring out.

Xuan's gaze began to blur, he tried to wipe away Lin Zi's tears with the rest of his strength, yet not until it touched Lin Zi's face, Xuan had lost his consciousness and his hand had fallen limp on the cold ground.

Lin Zi cried as soon as possible, her sadness was unstoppable. He looked back at his hands that were stained with Xuan's blood, there were patches of black color. The arrow is a poison arrow.

Meanwhile Yuan who was still searching for Lin Zi's whereabouts met the perpetrator who fired an arrow at Lin Zi. He fought with the culprit. But because his shoulder was still not completely healed, he could not move too freely. But he managed to open the man's veil.

"Nao Yu.." muttered Yuan surprised to recognize the face of the perpetrator.

Nao Yu just looked at him guiltily and left just like that. Yuan who was still stunned did not stop him either.

Help is coming soon. Xuan was taken to his pavilion and the palace healer immediately examined him.

In the room, Lin Zi was kneeling with her tears still dripping.

"Tabib, how is my Son?" ask the empress with an anxious and impatient face.

"Your Majesty, the Empress, for now the medicine that I gave her only inhibited the spread of her poison. The antidote for this type of poison is a bit hard to come by so please be patient" said the old healer.

"Then when will Xuan regain consciousness?" ask the empress who is still unable to calm down.

"When the antidote is obtained, the Crown Prince can return to consciousness. It's just that." the healer hesitated to finish his words.

"Just have 3 days to get the antidote. After 3 days, the poison will spread to his heart and the Crown Prince's life will not be helped anymore" the doctor continued, saying he had been cut off.

"Because I feel jealous. I know I don't deserve to be jealous. But still, I can't lie to my feelings." muttered Nao Yu who was still downcast.

The tears started to drip. Then a female servant whom Yuan assigned to search for information entered the room and reported that if until noon tomorrow Lin Zi could not prove her innocence, Lin Zi would be executed.

"Let's stay here tonight. Tomorrow morning once in the morning you have to get out of the palace quietly. I've already told people to prepare a horse carriage. Go away and never come back" Yuan told Nao Yu.

"What are you gonna do?" Nao Yu raised his head looking at Yuan.

"What I'm going to do is none of your business! Clearly, I will not let Zi'er die!"

Yuan left Nao Yu who was still stunned. Yuan stepped swiftly towards the prison where Lin Zi was being held. Inside that prison, he saw Lin Zi who was sitting leaning against the cold iron bars. Lin Zi's body was covered in wounds and her white clothes were filled with bloodstains. His face looked very pale and powerless.

"Jing Yuan.." murmured Lin Zi was aware of Yuan's existence.

Lin Zi approached Yuan with the rest of his strength. Yuan squatted down to level with Lin Zi who was crawling towards him.

"Jing Yuan... How is Xuan doing now? Is he still unconscious?" asked Lin Zi who was already unconcerned about herself.

Yuan simply shook his head and his eyes began to glaze over at Lin Zi who was still worrying about Xuan while his own condition was already on the verge of death.

"Don't think about it anymore, the palace healer can definitely save him" Yuan said trying to calm Lin Zi's worries.

"Then what about Nao Yu? He must be sad. Jing Yuan, tell her that I'm fine. I will definitely.." said Lin Zi disconnected as Yuan suddenly raised her tone.

"Look at you! You've suffered so much and you're still worried about other people!" cut Yuan raise the voice.

"Zi'er.. If tomorrow the culprit is still not caught, you will be executed." Yuan said again lowering his voice.

"I'm fine, don't worry. Jing Yuan, hurry up and leave. If they stay here too long, they will suspect you too. Go quickly"

Lin Zi crawled away from Yuan. He curled up on the straw and his palm waved telling Yuan to leave immediately.

"Zi'er. I won't let you die!" yuan muttered softly and inaudibly by Lin Zi's ears.

Yuan stepped out his legs leaving Lin Zi who was back to shed tears.

*Am I really going to die in this strange world?
