The Blue Swordsman

The Blue Swordsman
Wolf Hill

Rajendra began to step into the small hill in front of him, his steps steady but full of vigilance, because he could not be sure what might be faced there. The path he passed though still looks like a road but almost covered with weeds, a sign that the road he is now passing has not been touched by footsteps for a long time.

When it reached the middle of the hill suddenly appeared a thin fog, the aura of evil was getting closer. Ranu increasingly felt fear as if something threatening came closer, his hands were reflexively grasping his teacher's clothes.

Rajendra immediately stopped his steps, seeing the seriousness on the face of his teacher Ranu looked nervous he looked around but there was nothing he saw but a row of trees and shrubs. Rajendra was prepared for all the possibilities that he was about to face, the evil aura gripped him even more as if something was approaching, as Rajendra's hand prepared for the sword as soon as the fog and the aura of evil vanished, Ranu felt it as his fear gradually disappeared.

Rajendra also loosened his vigilance knowing the threat he did not know what form it had disappeared.

"Now there is nothing to fear anymore" said Rajendra encouraging his student.

The shock could not be hidden from Ranu's face, he did not expect the attempt to hide the fear of his teacher had failed, his attempt to be calm and silent did not say anything turned out to be futile, it turned out, because of the change in behavior can already be seen clearly if there are things that make it change and besides fear, there is nothing else that can break the spirit of Ranu.

Smile and cheer began to be seen again from the face of Ranu hearing the words of his teacher, his feelings were believed every word from his teacher. When looking ahead he saw the way out of the hill was already deket, the background of the village was already visible. Ranu smiled looking at Rajendra's face as if asking for approval, his teacher nodded and Ranu immediately darted forward impatiently wanting to leave the hill and head for the village in front of him.

Rajendra walks after her from behind while watching Ranu who seems to have reached the end of the road to the outside of the hill. Before catching up with his student Rajendra looked back to sweep his gaze to every corner of the hill, either to make sure or just answer the curiosity that still stuck in his heart. In his heart he asked "What exactly happened? What is this feeling?", seeing nothing, the question still remains a mystery to him.

He immediately stepped up after Ranu who looked impatient waiting for him at the end of the hill.

Paddy fields and rice fields become the first thing Rajendra sees when he has caught up with Ranu to the outside of the hill. They continued their steps through the rice fields and some gardens, they also found some farmers who seemed to be working on the rice fields and gardens, he said, the thing that makes Rajendra feel strange is that the farmers always stop their work and look with a gawking face full of astonishment at him. "Ah maybe because they have never seen me" he said inwardly trying to shake off his feelings.

Ranu who had just left his village for the first time felt strange with the views of the people they met, he asked his teacher

"Teacher, is there something wrong with us? why do they look at it like that?"

"Once again, maybe because they know we're newcomers" Rajendra said, unsure of the answer.

"But in my village despite the infrequent arrival of people, we never look at newcomers in wonder??" Ranu asked again refuting his teacher's answer.

"It's not worth thinking about" replied Rajendra because he found no other explanation to answer his student's question.

An archway of bamboo on top of which there is a board that reads "Maruya Village" appears in front of them. Rajendra and Ranu immediately entered the village, the first impression he got from this village is a village that is quite prosperous seen from the work of its diverse population not just farming. Ranu who just this time saw the crowd of a market can not resist his steps to get to the place, Rajendra followed him from behind. In the middle of the market looks a shop Rajendra decided to invite Ranu to rest there.

"Ranu, come here !!" Excited Rajendra who saw his students look dumbly turned to and fro. When he heard his name called, he rushed to Rajendra.

"Yes, teacher, what's wrong?" Ranu asked when he was near his teacher

"We will rest there" replied Rajendra, pointing to a tavern.

Turning his head in the direction that Ranu pointed to replied happily "Yes teacher".

"Did you really come to this village over the hill back there?" Asked one of them while pointing towards the hill.

"Yes, why?" Ask Rajendra who has not been able to catch the point of those people.

The one who asked looked dumbfounded for a moment as if he could not believe what he heard.

"So it's true you're the one, the village chief called you, will you meet him?" Said the man explaining his purpose.

Feeling interested and curious Rajendra also agreed to the invitation of the person, he and Ranu also followed the steps of the people towards the village head's house. The village head house looks quite large and there is a terrace that is quite spacious like on the terrace it is often used as a place to hold a meeting or banquet, because there are many wooden chairs surrounding a large table. Rajendra is welcome to sit down, the man appears to enter the house calling the village chief. A moment when a person with a bushy moustache and a small but dignified stature came and introduced himself,

"My name is Darya, forgive me for suddenly calling you like this" he said politely as he took a seat near Rajendra.

"I'm Rajendra and this is my student Ranu, and what need did you call us here for?" Rajendra asked after introducing himself.

The village chief seemed to observe Rajendra's inexorable admiration at the good looks and manners of the young man in front of him,

"From what I hear, is it true that you who came to this village this afternoon passed a small hill in the back there?" Ask Darya with a serious face.

"Yes that's how I think" replied Rajendra just plain.

"What do you see in there?"

"Application of course" replied Rajendra who did not know the meaning of Darya's question.

Darya was silent for a moment, she felt that the young man in front of her was not a random person.

"Don't you know what the hill is and the story behind it?" Ask Darya curious.

"No, is something wrong?" Rajendra asked back.

Darya then tells Rajendra everything,

The small hill they passed by, by the surrounding inhabitants called the wolf hill, and the myth that developed there was not a single person who managed to get out of the hill when he decided to enter into it. Some say if in the hill there is a demon White Wolf, the, countless Swordsmen deliberately came to the village to prove the truth of the myth but when they decided to go to the hill there was no one to be seen back.

Rajendra listened carefully to the story of the Village Chief, when the story was finally finished then understand him why the people who had been passed by him while out of the hill looked astonished to see them.

"So there is indeed a mystery on that hill" Rajendra said in his heart as he looked towards the creepy-looking hill in the background of the darkening sky.
