SUKMA: The Deal With the Devil

SUKMA: The Deal With the Devil
The Hajj Contract Gufron

Fadil and Pak Risman's family had to travel a few kilometers from Padalarang Station to the destination. They took an online taxi to get to Fadil's parents' house quickly. Then, when he arrived in front of the house, Fadil invited Pak Risman's family to meet his father. His name is Haji Gufron, the owner of the famous lele pecel contract and loan shark in Cimareme.

Awkwardly, Mr. Risman brought all his family members into the home of Haji Gufron. Fadil resigned briefly after allowing the family sit Mr. Risman. He could not wait to convey the good news of the arrival of his father's prospective contract occupants.

Fadil looked for his father into the room. It turns out that Haji Gufron is still wired after the Isya prayer. His only son knocked on the door, then the middle-aged man dressed in all white equipped with a peci turned his head. The look on his face implied a sense of haru for the coming of his son. Soon he approached Fadil, then hugged him.

"Fadil, why did you just come home, son? Have you completed all your courses at ITB?"

"Already, sir, stay in college," explained Fadil.

"Alhamdulillah. Now you can continue your catfish business without having to think about college assignments," said Haji Gufron.

"For that matter, I'd like to think about it."

"alright. But, if you think there's a better job, you'll still be supportive, really."

"Thank you, sir." Fadil smiled knot. "Yes, sir, in the living room is Mr. Risman's family. He had just arrived in Padalarang, but did not know where to stay. Yes, I suggest you stay in your contract."

"really? Then you must meet them" Haji Gufron said.

Haji Gufron with his son rushed to meet prospective rented residents. How happy he was to see a small family renting a contract. He also sat in a chair, facing the family of Mr. Risman.

"Oh, so this is the family Fadil told me about. You're Mr. Risman, huh?" hajji Gufron greeting, then greeting Mr. Risman.

"Yes, sir," said Mr. Risman, then appointing his family members one by one. "This is my wife, Inah. And these are my two daughters. The eldest is Atikah, while the youngest is Sukma."

"Ah, yes yes. Thank God, yes, you have two beautiful daughters."

Mr. Risman nodded.

Realizing that his guest had not been treated to a drink, Haji Gufron whispered to Fadil to make a sweet tea. Fadil nodded, then walked to the kitchen. After Haji Gufron's wife died, the old man took care of everything himself. So, while his son was at home, he did not hesitate to ask for help.

"Not bother, sir," said Mr. Risman.

"Not to worry. I know, you're tired after a long journey. By the way, where are you from?"

"My wife and I are from Indramayu, traveling to Bandung. We stopped working as housekeepers, so we moved here."

"Oh, so, yeah. So, you want to start a business here like that? Or looking for a job in a factory?"

"Actually .. I don't yet know what the plan is going forward. I think I'm going to open a small business. But for now, you calm down. The rent for the next month is really there."

"No need to hurry, sir. Getting paid on the first date is okay. Responsibility, now it's the end of the month."

Shortly thereafter, Fadil came with five glasses of sweet tea. Presented in front of the small family, until Mr. Risman more hesitant. However, Haji Gufron's friendly attitude, making Pak Risman comfortable and familiar quickly.

They also talked about the contract that will be inhabited. The Hajj Gufron Contract consists of twenty rooms and two floors. One building has five rooms below and five rooms above, and the rest is built face to face. For facilities, there is one kitchen and one bathroom inside. So, there is no need to queue if you are in a hurry to go to work. The monthly rental fee is quite cheap, which is five hundred thousand, already following electricity and PDAM. However, now the contract is only inhabited by one room only by a family of fried sellers. No one has been interested in living there for a long time, but the location is very strategic.

After a long conversation, Haji Gufron handed over the keys to the rented room to Mr. Risman. Fadil gladly took the family to his father's contract. It only takes a few minutes to walk for them to get to the contract. From the big road, just enter into the settlement of residents, then there is a high gate on the right side of the road.

Upon arrival at the destination, Fadil opened the rented gate. Once inside, the atmosphere was quiet. Although some rooms are empty, the rented veranda lights remain on at night. So, not so scary when visiting the rented area.

While Fadil and the couple entered the rented area, Sukma and Atikah were transfixed to see a large tall creature standing waiting for the gate. Its height was about the size of a two-story building, its body was sturdy like a human and filled with black fur, its head was dog-shaped. He was folding both hands while looking at the two.

"D-rriv ... Dedek, what is it?" ask Atikah trembling.

"That's a cuckoo, Tea," replied Sukma casually.

"The cocks are like people?"

The creature stared more and more, making the two little girls who were fixated on looking at him. He was disturbed and tried to get rid of them. Suddenly, Atikah and Sukma retreated from the gate.

"Would you guys come here? Go!" snarl the creature.

Atikah fell silent, then moved away from the gate. However, Sukma immediately clasped his brother's hand. He realized that his parents were watching them from the terrace of the rented room.

Regardless of the angry creature, Sukma and Atikah run towards the rented room terrace. Atikah who was still frightened saw the strange dog-headed creature, occasionally turned to the gate. Luckily, the creature was still standing in front of the gate and was not chasing after him.

"Come, comein!" get Mr. Risman to open the door.

When the door opened, the musty smell was so strong. It seemed like the room had long since been abandoned by its inhabitants. Fadil turned on the lights. Seen from the amount of dust on the tile floor and spider webs on the ceiling. A foam mattress rolled up in the corner of the room, looking dusty and dirty.

The entire family of Mr. Risman entered the main room which was quite small in size. To see another room in his rented, Mr. Risman and Ms. Inah stepped into the kitchen. The size is enough to store the stove and various eating purposes. When looking to the right, you will find a bathroom that is not so big.

Fadil looked at his watch. It was half nine. He said goodbye from Mr. Risman and Ms. Inah, then advised them to clean the rented room for convenience. Mr. Risman nodded, then drove Fadil home to the front of the gate.

Meanwhile, Bu Inah cleared the luggage from the Hilman pavilion. He stored the items in one corner of the room, then took out a foam mattress and patted it until the dust was gone. Atikah helps the mother sweep the room, while Sukma goes to the bathroom and turns on the faucet. The water was very clear when the little girl put a bucket to hold it.

Moments later after the bucket was filled, Sukma looked up. He felt someone blow his nape since then. However, after being searched, there was no one there. Sukma nonchalantly came out of the bathroom. When he was about to go to the main room, there was a female groaning from behind.

Curious, Sukma turned his head and headed back to the bathroom. He opened the bathroom door, then swept a glance around him. Just like before, the little girl found no one there. However, when he stepped again towards the main room, again the voice of the female moans was heard again.

This time, Sukma opened the bathroom door as hard as possible. How surprised he was to see a woman in red was sitting near a bucket while sobbing. A knife stuck in his stomach that continuously spewed blood. Sukma was still glued to look at him with wide eyes.

"W-who's Aunt? Why is Auntie here?" ask Sukma stammering.

Long enough Sukma noticed, the woman finally raised her head. His pale face was full of bruises, like it had been beaten by someone. Occasionally, blood flows from the nose and corners of the left lip. The woman continued to cry, making Sukma pity.

"Here you go, don't cry" Sukma said, entering the bathroom and wiping away the tears.

Not yet had time to talk to Sukma, the woman was surprised to see the arrival of Bu Inah. He disappeared from the face of the little girl.

"Why are you talking again?" ask Ms. Inah.

"So there was another aunt crying, Mom," replied Sukma as he exited the bathroom, then pointed at the bucket. "That's where it is."

Intrigued by the youngest's answer, Bu Inah tried to figure it out into the bathroom. There's nobody there. The middle-aged woman came out of the bathroom with a frown.

"Where, Deck? How come there's no?" ask Ms. Inah.

"Ah, time?"

"Yes," said Bu Inah convincingly.

Sukma checked the bathroom. Sure enough, the woman who was moaning a moment ago, had disappeared out of nowhere. While scratching his back head, Sukma came out of the bathroom.

"Where, huh? It was there, Mom. Why isn't there, huh?" sukma Gumam.

"Maybe it's just a hallucination of yours" said Bu Inah. "Already, lighten us rest now. Tomorrow we continue to clean up," he said.

Sukma nodded, then left the kitchen with his mother. Sometimes he looks back. There's no one there. The little girl dared to swear, that the woman she had seen just a moment ago, actually existed.

A few meters from the contract, Haji Gufron paced the living room feeling uneasy. Fearing that Mr. Risman's family suddenly canceled the decision to live there, like prospective residents before. According to his experience, the previous residents were not comfortable living in his rented goods last night. The complaints remain the same, plagued by subtle-creatures.

Shortly after, Fadil arrived. Haji Gufron, who could not wait to hear the news of prospective rented residents, immediately approached his only son.

"Where? Mr Risman's family lives in a rented house?" haji Gufron asked impatiently.

"It was just last night, sir. Let's see in the next few days" replied Fadil.

"Hopefully they're at home, yeah."

"Yes" said Fadil. "But, why did you give me the key to the contract of the former Euis Tea? Not that contract-"

"Father was intentional, Fadil. You think, if Euis' room is filled, everything will improve as before. The word paranormal that once passed in front of the contract of the Father, the contract was filled with supernatural beings. It may have been due to Euis' death. The fryman also told me, he said Euis was still hanging in the next room."

"Ah, this Father. The dead man's name, his life has been questioned as an angel in the grave."

"As far as you go. You just try to rent another rame kayak while you're still alive."

"Oh my goodness, sir. But that's not the way either. Even though empty rooms are still many, Mr. Nawarin rooms that are anything, it is appropriate that prospective residents contract on the run."

"What else can you do, Dil?"

"Try calling paranormal or supernatural experts to clean up your contract. Who knows after being cleared, the creatures were on the run and hired Mr. Rame again," suggested Fadil.

"Already, Dil .. but they're back. Whether there is anything in the land of the rent of the Father, to the extent that the supernatural creatures at home live there. The feeling, you did not build a contract on the grave ground."

"Then, tomorrow after I go to Mom's grave, we go turn on the Pinter to clean up your contract."

"Yes, but who?"

"I'll look for it anyway."

"It has to be really good, yeah. Don't even add the dedemit."

"If it is God's business, sir. Supernaturalists are mediators."

"Yes, it means the decision of the Father to give the key to the contract of former Euis as Mr. Risman is the most correct. Then your contract was deserted a few months after Euis's death."

"Ah, it's up to you. By the way, what are you cooking at home?"

"Pecel catfish."

"Geez, pecel lele again. Don't you want to cook anything else?"

"What is the power of the Father, Dil? You can only cook that."

...****************...

The wall clock shows twelve o'clock exactly. There was a faint sound of moaning from the bathroom. Atikah who heard the voice, suddenly woke up from her beautiful dream. He listened to the woman's voice carefully. This time, his hearing was not wrong.

Curious, Atikah got up from her bed, then checked the rented entrance. It's locked. He thought, it is impossible for anyone else to get into the contract if it has been locked tightly.

Then, Atikah walked slowly towards the kitchen. His heart was pounding as he heard the shrill voice. Hesitating, Atikah retreated slowly while looking warily at the surroundings. After a few steps back, the moaning voice disappeared.

Atikah. The curiosity that pervaded his mind, still encouraged the little girl to walk to the bathroom. Slowly Atikah walked to the bathroom. Opening the door slowly, a flabbergasted woman in red clothes was found by Sukma shortly after holding water. As Atikah's body suddenly relaxed, his consciousness vanished.
