IS IT HAPPY FOR ME?(PART 1)

Is it Happy for Me? (Part 1)

The night is not too late. Mentari has just set in the western horizon. Dicka was riding his motorcycle around town, when he saw a girl who was being carried away by some guys. They're circling the girl, teasing her. Dicka's instincts as a man suddenly rose. He could not let that happen before his eyes. Even if he is known as a street guy, he still has a conscience.

“Hai, beautiful. Want to come with us?” said one of them. That girl is getting cornered. He looked very frightened.

Without thinking, Dicka stepped forward. It turned out that he knew Rudi, the son of his father's superior was in their midst. For a moment, he became worried.

“Rudi..”.

At once, they turned their heads toward the sound, and saw Dicka walking closer.

“Take the girl off, Rud. Otherwise.”

“If not, what?” challenge Rudi, “Ka, you don't pretend to be a hotshot. There's no luck. What if you also enjoy this girl?”

“No! Let go of him or you guys will.”.

However, Rudi had already cut Dicka's talk.

“Or, we'll you beat up? Da? Ha. ha. ha. ha. ha.., you don't make me laugh. There's no way you'd dare to fight me. All this time, you could only take cover under your father's armpits. Not more. Huh!”

Now, Dicka had completely lost his temper. He doesn't care if Dad beats him when he gets home. Most importantly, the girl survived first.

The four of them gang up on Dicka, but Dicka was not the type to be easily defeated. Finally, after much effort, he turned around to win.

“Awas you! Just wait for my revenge,” threatened Rudi, before they ran away from the place.

“You all right?” dicka asked, while cleaning the dust that was stuck on her shirt.

“I... I...” replied the girl was shaking. For a while, he was unable to say anything.

Dicka asked her to sit on the grass.

He was really scared, Dicka thought.

“You okay?” dicka asked, because her face looked pale.

The girl nodded.

“Ter.. thank you.”

Dicka smiled, “For what?”

Silent.

This place is so quiet, inner Dicka. At that moment, he was looking at the highway in the distance.

Suddenly, the girl looked.

“Can I..”.

“What?” dicka asked, turning her eyes to the girl.

“Can I... borrow your shoulder for a moment? I know you don't know me, but..”

“Of course,” replied Dicka without waiting for the continuation of the girl's words. Then, unexpectedly Dicka, the girl cried bitterly, as if she wanted to take out all the burdens in her heart.

Dicka waited, though his heart had to be patient.

She's a good girl. I can't hold her, Dicka thought.

During this time, he was always with friends he knew on the streets. The relationship between a man and a woman has no clear boundaries. They were used to being hugged, even more. He understood that they were victims of family disharmony, just like him.

Dicka remembered Devi, his friend who once said that his father had two wives, then Ardi whose father had an affair with another woman and his mother just kept quiet, accepted it resignedly.

Suddenly, the girl's voice broke Dicka's daydream.

“Thank you, you helped me. I don't know what would happen if you weren't around.”

Now, Dicka heard a stronger voice. Turns out, he had recovered more, his inner self.

“Nothing. I really have to do it.”

This is the first time Dicka has received a thank you. A feeling of pleasure slipped into his heart. He felt the warmth of the girl's words.

I thought my heart was long dead, he thought.

“You feel better?” ask Dicka.

The girl nodded.

“Oh, sorry. My name is Ana,” said Ana introduced herself.

“You want to go home?”

Ana nodded.

“You can drive?”

Ana looked at Dicka with a look of disbelief, and Dicka already saw that look.”

“You don't trust me?”

Ana looked surprised. His eyes look agitated.

“Not. Not that I don't believe it, but..”

“But..” said Dicka mimicking Ana's remark.

“But, I'm still afraid of..”.

Dicka didn't force. “Alright, you can wait for a taxi at the end there.”

Ana shuddered. The path Dicka was showing was dark. It is more dangerous to be alone there.

“I'm coming with you,” said Ana finally.

Dicka smiled. Ana was surprised to see it.

He's really handsome, Dicka thought.

Most of their journey was spent in silence. Busy with their own thoughts.

Finally, as she could not bear it, Ana began to speak.

“You know? I never felt happy.”

Dicka was surprised, but immediately replied.

”Why?” he asked while thinking that the world does have many problems that make people lose hope, as well as happiness.

Ana fell silent.

“Oh, don't tell me if you don't want to say it.”

Moments later, Ana said, “My parents are rarely at home. They are always busy with their work, without thinking about my feelings. I miss their affection.”

Unknowingly, Dicka replied, “You're still lucky, Ana. I've lost a mother, as well as a father's affection.”

“Your mother... died?”

“Yes, he's been dead since I was a kid.”

Ana felt a sense of bitterness in Dicka's voice.

“Ha... ha... ha.., what was I talking about, anyway? Forget everything I said. After all, we will never see you again.”

“Ka, you don't need a mouse to laugh.” However, that sentence only existed in Ana's mind.

“Ngapain were you alone there?” dicka asked to switch the conversation.

“I'm waiting for a friend,”

“Oo...” says Dicka.

Though, Ana hopes Dicka will ask more about her.

Oh, what's wrong with me? thought Ana was confused.

In front of Ana's house.

“Thank you. You're a good person.”

I'm a good guy? thought Dicka while driving his bike. From the rearview mirror, Dicka sees Ana waving. Probably, meaning ‘sayonara for forever’.
