I gasped at how lonely the Kingdom of Rosalia was. There was no one in the palace, not even the lowest-ranking bodyguards existed. Mr. Mahawira I watched as if I could not believe what he saw. In fact, even the King was not there when we checked his throne.
"Where did everyone go?" lirihku while shaking her head.
"I don't know either," the man replied as he slowly stepped towards the throne where the King usually sat.
After a short moment of staring, he spread his gaze around.
Mr. Mahawira took a deep breath. "My father's condition is getting worse by the day. Even to take up arms he could not possibly afford. When I returned to the palace after being kidnapped by that bastard Camelia, I told Dad everything."
"What might—"
"It's certain." Mr. Mahawira looked at me. "You know? The kingdom of Simaseba actually implemented a system of forced labor in their territory. Yeah, you could say they're just like Baltra. For this reason, Simaseba seemed to have betrayed the alliance agreement that had been forged for decades."
"What should we do, sir? I-this must be because of my fault. Because I—"
"Stop blaming yourself."
"But, Mister. The reality is like that. The beginning of all this trouble was when the King picked me up. It was as if after that everyone was overwritten by misfortune. And I am the bearer of—"
"Cornelia, stop!"
"No, Mister. All this is indeed—"
The body stopped my sentence, hugging the helpless body because it was all my thoughts that brought people to the misadventures that had lasted the last few months.
I don't get it. Why is Mr. Mahawira so trusting, not even a little hate or blame me for everything that has happened.
"There's no point in you blaming yourself. Wh-wh-what for? By blaming yourself, can you repeat everything that has happened? That's not gonna solve the problem, Cornelia."
The more tightly the man hugged me. Carrying my back up into my long hair that just broke.
"How long are we going to go through something bad like this?" My voice is raucous because it holds a clear liquid in the net.
"I'm not with the time it takes. As long as I can stay with you, I'm willing to be caught in trouble hundreds, even thousands of times. Steady, Cornelia is like you who always makes me strong."
I nodded slowly, then took off the man's embrace.
"Then, what should we do now?"
"Don't rush. Let's make sure it's true or not that my father and all the royal people are taken to Simaseba."
Not long after when Mr. Mahawira investigated several damaged objects, a dove came. In the distance, I knew where the pigeon was headed.
I spread out my right hand, and the pigeon fell. I saw something tied to his leg.
Of course, it was a letter.
"Master, a letter. Looks like it's for Mister," I said as I untied the paper at the pigeon's feet.
The pigeon flew immediately after the letter I got.
"Let me see."
The letter was opened by my master, then he read it carefully. Every now and then his forehead frowned, his gaze also occasionally began to change.
"What's up, Mister?"
Mr. Mahawira squeezed the letter furiously. "I'd guess. All the inhabitants of the kingdom were taken hostage by Simaseba."
Mr. Mahawira stepped onto the throne, then sat down to lay down his back. I followed.
"I know Simaseba has strong people who are invincible. It was very different from the Kingdom of Rosalia. There are traitors in Rosalia. And that's one of the things that caused my father to get sick" explained Mr. Mahawira.
"It could also be Baltra's plan. Simaseba and Baltra must be working on a plan. While they don't give us a pause to make a plan."
"The King's body is in danger."
"Not again in danger, but this is really an emergency. While we're trying to add strength, Baltra has already taken steps."
Mr. Mahawira's gaze grew sharper. The flames as I had seen them in his eyeballs re-ignited. It grew bigger, but my hope did not burn his soul and heart.
Suddenly someone jumped up and attacked Mr. Mahawira using a wooden stick. The man reflexively repelled the attacks of strangers.
I don't understand who's the one who suddenly attacked. Immediately I help Mr. Mahawira to defeat him.
"Yeah!"
From behind I aimed a kick to hit the head of the man in black clothes and wearing a headband, but he quickly avoided while continuing to focus on fending off Mr. Mahawira's attack.
"Cornelia! Don't follow! Stay away!" firmly Mr. Mahawira.
Even so, of course I don't want to. I don't want to always trouble that guy. Though I already have martial skills, but still depend on it. Isn't that not good? Then, what use is my ability?
"No!" reject me.
I moved and fought next to Mr. Mahawira
"You're pretty tough as it turns out, too" said the opponent. He easily reversed the attack until Mr. Mahawira and I bounced back.
"Cornelia! You okay?!" ask her in panic. In fact, he himself was hit by a very hard blow.
"No, sir," I replied, holding onto my chest which was quite painful.
"You can't fight!" he said, then straightforwardly swept my body towards the throne.
"T-T-Master! What are you doing?!"
"I'm just keeping you out of the wound. Shut up and watch me fight."
Mr. Mahawira stepped back before the opponent. They sat. Just now that Mr. Mahawira was about to attack, the opponent's hand immediately pushed him to the ground. A wooden stick shuffled in Mr. Mahawira's face.
It is clear that Mr. Mahawira has begun to be enveloped in anger. However, the opponent laughed sillyly, astonishing me.
"Are you the one who wants to unseal the soul that I have planted in your body? I guess, you must be Mahawira, right?"
I'm getting confused. The man knew Mr. Mahawira. How could? If he's a courtier, it's impossible because I've never seen or met him.
"Who are you?" Mr. Mahawira got up while remaining alert.
"Come with me, Mahawira." The man stepped into the palace. "Hey, Girl! You can come too."
Despite not being able to accept his sudden attack, Mr. Mahawira and I followed the man. I don't know what he'll show us.
In the spacious palace dining room, the man stopped his steps.
"What's your real purpose?" ask Mr. Mahawira.
"You seem to have forgotten me, Mahawira. Look at the painting on the wall." A large painting on the wall.
Mr. Mahawira suddenly gasped. "You—"
"Yes, Mahawira. I am Ki Cakra, the one who taught you the Dragon's Breath and the witch who is your father's close relative."
"No way."
"What is impossible? You think I'm dead? Just-there's. Your father lied to you."
"B-but why did you lie to me?"
"The only reason I lied to you was so you wouldn't look for me. Even though the lies your father committed were one of my plans."
Mr. Mahawira shook his head. "I .. don't understand."
"You'll understand soon enough."
The person named Ki Cakra grinned.
