69 Healing the Wound in Your Heart

Audrey waits for Shane who is fast asleep after nursing.

Why hasn't Reiner come home yet? Hope nothing bad happens.

I think Audrey's worried about her husband.

Audrey stepped out of her room towards the living room. He was relieved when he saw Reiner coming and opened the apartment door. But somehow Reiner's face looks tired and somber, as if he was thinking about a problem that weighs heavily on him.

"Rein, you're home from the office? What's up?" audrey held Reiner's hand.

"Darling, let's go to the room. I have something to tell you."

Reiner took Audrey by the hand and invited her into their room.

"Do you have any problems at the office, Rein? Just tell me. If you share with me, you will feel better" Audrey said as she invited Reiner to sit on the edge of the bed.

Without saying much, Reiner clenched Audrey tightly. He buried his head in Audrey's chest like a child in need of protection.

"Audrey, please hug me" said Reiner.

Audrey was surprised to see Reiner suddenly looking so fragile before her.

"Yes, honey, I'll hug you," replied Audrey stroking gently Reiner's hair.

An inner bond that had been formed between the two of them for some time, caused Audrey to feel the pain Reiner was harboring.

Reiner's voice rattled as he revealed his heart.

"Audrey, I can't figure out why my mama did this to us. I just found out that Abram Darusman is Mama's man. My own mama made the divorce papers and deliberately created a misunderstanding between us."

Mama Valeria's plotting a lie on Reiner's behalf? Is that how he hated me to make his own son hurt?

inner Audrey was saddened to hear Reiner's confession.

Reiner raised his head. The look in her eyes looked bitter as she looked at Audrey's face.

"I don't understand, Audrey. The mother I love the most has turned into someone I don't know. He could lie to me. Even he tries to separate our love through devious means. I really didn't think my own mother would do all that."

Audrey was unable to hold back her tears when she saw the agony in the eyes of the man she loved so much. Her heart trembled every time Reiner uttered a bitter truth about her mother. Audrey understands the magnitude of Reiner's disappointment, because Reiner thought his mother was the most important person in his life. In Reiner's eyes, Mama Valeria was a figure who always loved and protected him from childhood to growing up.

Audrey clasped Reiner's hand and looked at him affectionately.

"Darling, maybe Mama Valeria did it because she thought about your happiness. He just doesn't want you to suffer. I had a bad past relationship with Dave and Aunt Diana. I realized it wouldn't be easy for Mama Valeria to accept my past. Moreover, he had been injured because of Aunt Diana's actions," said Audrey trying to calm Reiner's heart.

Hearing a trembling voice, Reiner hugged Audrey again.

"But why do the people closest to me that I love betray me? My dad, now my mom. Did they never consider me their son? They prefer their own selfishness rather than thinking about my happiness. I'm so hurt to accept this reality" Reiner said bitterly.

"Rein, I get it, honey. I understand your suffering. Cry if you want to cry. I'll always be here with you" Audrey answered stroking Reiner's back.

"Darling, thank you for staying by my side. Don't ever leave me, Audrey. Whatever happens, we'll get through it together" Reiner said, immersing his face in Audrey's hair.

"Yes, Rein, I promise you. Now sleep in my lap. I'll massage your head so you can relax."

Reiner complied with Audrey's request and laid his head on her lap.

"Close your eyes, I'll massage you until you fall asleep."

Audrey moved her fingers and began to gently massage Reiner's head. He was eager to try to do anything, in order to slightly treat the wounds that were in Reiner's heart.

While looking at Reiner's face that was closing his eyes, Audrey continued her massage to Reiner's shoulder.

"Honey, where did you learn this new skill? Your massage is very comfortable" Reiner said, still closing his eyes.

"I used to massage Opa, honey. I don't learn from anyone. I do it with love. But if my massage is good, why are you still awake?" audrey asked in doubt Reiner's praise.

Reiner smiled at Audrey's words.

"I did not intentionally fall asleep. I want to spend time with you alone. We still have a lot to do, honey. But wait..you didn't practice this massage on another man, did you?"

Audrey could not help but laugh at Reiner's question which was still easily flammable jealous.

"Where might I be massaging others. All my life I've only massaged three people, Opa, Mama, and you, honey. And then one more."

"Who is he?" ask Reiner not to like it.

"Honey, of course Shane, our son. I'm learning to massage Shane every day."

Seeing her husband's feelings starting to gradually improve, Audrey decided it was the right time for her to talk about Tristan. Audrey wants to tell Reiner that Tristan will not be a hindrance to their relationship anymore.

Reiner was shocked to hear Audrey say.

"So you met him? Tristan said the same thing to me. I met him for a while at the Star Cafe. I'm sorry, honey, I didn't tell you before. I just don't want to worry you" Reiner said regretfully.

"It's okay, honey. I'm relieved that all the misunderstandings that have ever happened between us are over."

"Audrey, are we going to your parents' house?" tanya Reiner was reluctant to get up from Audrey's lap.

"Darling, I'll call Mama and Papa. We'll see them tomorrow night after you get home from the office."

"Are you sure they won't get angry? I'm afraid they're getting bad-minded about me if I can't see them today" Reiner asked worriedly.

"Don't worry baby, my parents are very understanding. I'll explain to them that you need a break."

The sweetest smile on Audrey's lips. He lowered his face, then whispered in Reiner's ear that was still lying on his lap.

"Darling, don't you want to ask me out tonight? Did you forget? I've stocked the ASI supplies for Shane. Bi Mila will take care of Shane, so we can go together quietly."

"Of course we're going on a date, honey. That's why I don't want to fall asleep. Thank you for preparing everything. You're so sweet. I can't wait for tonight" said Reiner, peeping at Audrey's lips.

"Now get up first, Rein. I have to do something."

"Whatis that? I want you to stay here with me" Reiner said sulked.

"I will prepare a warm bath for you. Soaking in warm water can make you feel better."

Reiner got up from Audrey's lap and whispered something in his wife's ear.

"I just want to soak, if you're with me. I want to be bathed like Shane," teased Reiner with his potent voice.

Audrey's face flushed red upon hearing Reiner's childish request. However, he decided to fulfill all of Reiner's wishes today.

"Yes, honey, wait for me here. I'll call you later" Audrey replied with a smile.

Audrey took a towel and dried Reiner's still wet hair carefully.

"Honey, I want to be pampered like this" whispered Reiner.

"Hmmm, then from now on I have two babies. One cute little baby named Shane, another one of my big, handsome babies."

Reiner pulled Audrey into his arms.

"Darling, I'm glad you're smart to tease me now. Because of you, I can forget all my sorrows. Get ready, I'll seduce you tonight."

"Rein, let me go. Let's get your clothes on," Audrey said, offering the shirt she had chosen for Reiner.

"Help me get dressed, honey," Reiner said as he opened his bath pajamas.

Audrey shook her head at Reiner's behavior.

"Darling, your powerful attitude exceeds Shane's. All right, I'll put your clothes on and make you look good."

After she finished helping Reiner get dressed, Audrey pushed Reiner's body out of her room.

"Why are you forcing me out, honey?" reiner asked unwillingly to leave Audrey.

"If you were still here, I wouldn't be able to dress up. I want to look beautiful on a date."

Reiner crossed both his hands on his chest.

"So you think of me as a bully? All right, I'll go. But wear the white dress I bought you."

Audrey opened her wardrobe and saw a white sabrina-modeled dress hanging neatly in her closet.

"This one?" audrey showed the dress to Reiner.

Reiner nodded his head.

"Yes. Dear. Remember, don't forget to bring your jacket. I don't want any other guy staring at you later along the way. I'm the only one who can look at you."

"I'll see Shane first. Don't make me wait too long, honey," Reiner continued.

Audrey smiled happily as she looked at Reiner coming out of her room. For Audrey, Reiner's possessive attitude was proof of how much her husband loved her.
