27 Sudden Duties (Part 2)

Forty minutes had Audrey waiting alone, but Tristan had not yet returned. Audrey regrets her decision to let Tristan go in alone to meet the manager of the Supermarket Branch. Bad shadows flashed through Audrey's mind. I don't know what Tristan is doing in there. Is he being scolded all-out or maybe he is fighting against the arrogant manager.

Tristan get out quick, don't do anything stupid.

I thought Audrey was worried.

Audrey's bad thoughts just vanished when she saw Supermarket Manager Branch walk out of her room with Tristan.

"Thank you Mr. Tristan for visiting us. Again I apologize" the manager shook Tristan's hand.

"Thank you for coming back. I hope next time something like this doesn't happen again."

The manager's face looked full of regret.

"I'll make sure we don't repeat it, sir."

"Well, see you again Mr. Rico" Tristan said. The manager glanced at Audrey and nodded his head with a smile.

What has Tristan done to her, so that she turns friendly and respectful like that?

inner Audrey astonishment.

Tristan walked towards Audrey while showing off a piece of cheque in her hand.

"Look at Audrey's mother, I managed to get a paycheck from the Supermarket Branch."

"Tristan, what did you do to get that check?" ask Audrey curious.

"That's because of my charm beautiful mother. Do you still doubt my ability to make others fall in my heart and obey my will?"

"Why do you still like to joke around in this situation" Audrey replied annoyed at Tristan's reply.

Tristan just laughed at the angry reaction from his boss.

"Mother Audrey don't frown, let's do the second task."

Audrey walks after Tristan in the car. Audrey is still wondering why Tristan didn't tell her what really happened. But Audrey chose to ignore it, because there are still two more customers that must be visited.

"So this is the headquarters of Dandelion Mart" Tristan said looking at the three-story office in front of him.

"Yes, said Yudha, her manager, a woman named Angeline. He is very smart to look for excuses and pretend to promise payment. But he never kept his promise" Audrey said.

"Oh so a woman who is good at lying. Let's go in to see him," Tristan said walking casually into the office.

A female receptionist greeted Audrey and Tristan kindly.

"Sorry Mom, Dad, how can I help you?"

"For Miss, I'm Audrey and this is Tristan, we're from the Oragon Group. We'd like to meet Angeline's mother, Dandelion Mart's financial manager."

"Has there been an appointment before, Mother?"

"Not yet, Miss."

"Well wait a minute, Mom, I'll ask Angeline's mother first."

The receptionist pressed the intercom button and spoke for a few moments on the phone.

"I'm sorry, Angeline's mother was only willing to meet one person. Which one of you will go inside?"

"I'll meet him. My name is Tristan" replied Tristan ahead of Audrey.

"Okay, sir, please come with me to the third floor."

Audrey looked into Tristan's eyes and shook her head to give a gesture of rejection. But Tristan moved her hand back to pay respect to Audrey, and she followed the receptionist into the office.

Tristan is so stubborn. I've banned him, he's desperate to see Angeline's mother alone. Angeline's mother will definitely play her.

Audrey could only budge and wait anxiously in the Dandelion Mart office lobby. After nearly an hour had passed, Audrey could no longer bear to keep quiet. Audrey stood up and walked over to the receptionist who had brought Tristan inside.

"Miss, sorry if I can catch up to see Angeline's mother."

"Sorry, your mother can't get in."

"But my friend didn't come out and..."

Audrey's words suddenly came to a halt as she saw Tristan coming out accompanied by a beautiful woman wearing a black blazer suit. They seemed to be talking intimately, even occasionally the woman smiled sweetly at Tristan.

"Mr Tristan I hope we can keep working together. Sorry for this misunderstanding. Next payment for Oragon will be my priority."

"Thank you Mother Angeline, I'll cash the check soon. See you soon."

Tristan approached Audrey who was still standing glued in front of the reception desk.

"Why you're talking there, Audrey's mom. Amazed by my ability? One more check I got."

"Tristan why are you so long inside? I'm worried something's going on."

"Just calm Mom, I can definitely handle the situation, let alone handle women. That's one of my skills" Tristan replied.

"Tristan, why do you always answer me so non-seriously."

"Mother Audrey doesn't have to be angry. Instead of mad mother better we go to lunch soon. Now it's my mother's turn to treat me" Tristan said as he walked to the parking area.

Audrey shook her head at Tristan's unruly behavior. However, Audrey has to admit that Tristan has successfully completed two difficult tasks, which even Audrey herself is unable to do.

"Tristan, where are we going?"

"Of course, lunch together. You'll definitely love it" Tristan said, steering his car into a cafe with natural shades. Audrey saw more young couples eating lunch at the cafe than office workers.

"Tristan, are you sure we'll have lunch here? This place is for young people who are dating."

"Let's just say we're like them for today, too" Tristan replied casually.

A cafe waiter came to them to ask what food to order.

"Mother because you are the one who treat me, please order according to your taste. I will obey. But if you can give advice, the best food here is fish steak and orange juice drink."

"Okay, I ordered two fish steaks and two orange juices" Audrey said, handing the menu to the waiter.

"So you used to come to this cafe with your girlfriend? You seem to have memorized the menu."

"Daughter? I don't have a boyfriend, Audrey's mom. There are a lot of girls who are crazy about me, but I would rather chase women than be chased by women. One more thing I want to find a wife-to-be instead of a boyfriend" Tristan said showing off his mischievous smile.

"As far as you are. The important thing is you have to be serious about your job before you marry a woman."

"Didn't I show seriousness at work? Oh yes Mother, if later I managed to make our third customer pay off the debt, I will ask for a gift from Mother for my achievements."

"Gift? What gift do you mean?" audrey asked suspiciously.

"Mother must grant my three requests. My request won't be hard to do."

Audrey laughed at Tristan's words.

"Tristan, you think I'm a genie of lights who can grant you three wishes?

"Mother is the princess. While I might want to be bewitched in order to turn into his prince," Tristan replied grinningly.

"Okay, Tristan if you manage to subdue the owner of the notorious Self-Service City, I will accept your three requests. But don't ask for strange things or break boundaries" Audrey warned Tristan.

"Of course, Audrey's mother I promise. I'll definitely amaze you" Tristan said confidently.
