49 I Forgive You

Reiner stroked Audrey's sobbing hair in his arms.

"Dear, please forgive me. I've made a lot of mistakes. Please give me a chance to correct my mistake. I promise to always make you happy."

"Actually I went abroad to see Ethan. He has said everything. I'm too stupid to trust you. It turns out that it was you who had been a victim all this time" said Reiner explained the purpose of his departure.

Audrey was shocked to hear Reiner's honest confession.

"So you went just to hear Ethan's testimony about me? Had Ethan not told me the truth, you would still hate me, right? You listen more to the words of others than I do. You've always thought of me as a woman who cheats and lies."

Reiner wiped away the tears that had soaked Audrey's cheeks. Seeing his wife cry, made his own heart ache.

"I didn't mean it that way, honey. I just want to know the truth."

Out of nowhere her courage came from, but Audrey felt she had to express her pain in front of Reiner.

"Rein, are you also going to go to look for a witness whether I'm having an affair with Tristan or not? And my fate depends only on the testimony of others. If they say Audrey is having an affair, then you'll leave me soon. But if they say Audrey didn't cheat, you'll come back and tell me you love me."

Reiner didn't know what to answer Audrey's question. Everything Audrey said was true. He would rather believe in the words of others than believe in his wife. Even now, he was about to repeat the same mistake of being burned with jealousy. He should have asked Audrey what really happened.

"Darling, you can scold me as much as you can. Or you can slap and hit me. I'll take it. Please don't cry." Reiner said, holding Audrey back in his arms.

"I'll delete these photos and won't ask again. I trust you completely. That's proof that I love you so much."

The heartache mixed with the sadness he was feeling, making Audrey's voice sound weak.

"Rein, that's enough. I'm tired..."

"Rest, Honey. I won't bother you" Reiner said, releasing Audrey.

Though filled with disappointment, Reiner decided to give Audrey time. He must learn to be patient and wait until his wife will forgive his mistakes.

Audrey stared at Reiner's departure with an erratic feeling. In a way, he is very happy to know that Reiner loves him. But on the other hand, he could not just forget the actions of Reiner who always prejudiced against him. Somehow the accusations given by the man she loved, apparently incised deeper wounds than when she was accused of being a thief.

What am I supposed to do?

Audrey tried to close her eyes and rest for a moment. But his still-chaotic mind made him unable to fall asleep. Audrey decided to take a shower and refresh her mind. He opened the large closet in the room. There are a number of clothes, dresses, sleeping pajamas and all the women's equipment neatly arranged in the closet.

He had the waiter prepare everything. Mr. Reiner always knows everything and can do everything.

After finishing the bath, Audrey picked up one of her thick red sweaters and jeans to protect herself from the cold.

"Night, ma'am, dinner is ready" said Mr. Martin to see Audrey who had descended into the living room area.

Audrey looked around the quiet looking room. Only two waiters were seen preparing dinner.

Where's Reiner?

audrey wondered.

Mr. Martin who saw Audrey was daydreaming, as if knowing the contents of the mind of his master's wife.

"Mrs, are you looking for Mister?"

"Eh. yes, sir," said Audrey hesitantly.

"Sir, took a shower and went outside. Until now, sir hasn't returned."

"Do you know where Reiner went? Did he bring his car?" ask Audrey worried.

"Mister's car is still in the yard, ma'am. I don't know where you're going because you didn't say anything to me."

"How long has he been gone, sir?"

"About two hours ago, ma'am."

Anxiety suddenly enveloped Audrey's mind. He was very afraid that Reiner would leave him alone.

Rein, I'm sorry. My attitude was overrated. Where you going? I'm so scared of losing you.

Mr. Martin caught up with Audrey who had walked out of the villa first.

Audrey tries to find Reiner to the garden and swimming pool area behind the villa, but Reiner is not there.

"Sir, Reiner is not in the villa area. Then where is he?"

"Madam, maybe you're taking a walk to a mountainous area. You better wait inside. It's night, madam."

"Sir, please accompany me to look for Reiner" Audrey pleaded.

Security who saw Audrey and Mr. Martin looking confused, immediately came to them.

"What's up, Madam?"

"Do you know where Mr. Reiner went?"

"Sir said he wanted to get some fresh air. But it's possible that you went to the lake. Near the villa is a beautiful lake. People here call it Blue Lake, because the water can change color to blue," replied the security.

"I will take the Lady there" said Mr. Martin taking the initiative.

Audrey accompanied by Mr. Martin walked down the path leading to the lake.

"That, ma'am, the lake is visible."

"Yes, sir, please wait here," said Audrey walking quickly towards the lake.

Up close, Audrey could see a lake with clear water lying before her. But the lake looks very lonely.

Rein, where are you?

audrey thought desperately.

Audrey tried to search the lake. He stopped when he saw a man standing at the end of the lake. Audrey recognized the tall and sturdy body that was standing on her back.

Without a second thought, Audrey ran over and hugged Reiner from behind.

"Rein, why didn't you say that you went to the lake? I'm afraid you're leaving me alone."

Reiner was surprised to realize Audrey had come to look for him and was hugging him tightly.

"Audrey..."

"Rein, next time don't leave without telling me. I have forgiven all your mistakes. Iloveyou..."

Reiner smiled happily at Audrey's words. She turned her body around and held Audrey lovingly.

"Who said I'd leave you? I promise to always make you happy. I'm here to give you a present."

"What gift?" ask Audrey curious.

Reiner handed him a sketchbook he had brought.

"Look, I made a sketch of you standing by the lake."

Audrey looked at the image Reiner made with admiration. The woman in the picture was completely similar to him.

"So what Bianca said is true? Do you like sketching?"

"Yes right. From childhood I loved drawing."

"Then is the painting in your room really my painting? You didn't want to admit it" Audrey teased Reiner.

"Darling, you've dared to tease me now. Actually it's a painting of the girl of my dreams. I didn't expect to find you, the woman who looks so much like my painting. You're my dream wife" said Reiner, peeping at Audrey's forehead.

Audrey blushed in embarrassment at Reiner's romantic words.

"Come, we're going home. It's dinner time" said Audrey breaking free from Reiner's embrace.

Mr. Martin, who watched the couple from a distance, was happy.

Mr. Reiner loved his wife very much. They're a matching young couple.

mister Martin muttered with a smile.
