Crystal Poison

No!!

There was gunfire. Everyone is surprised. Mike growled and turned into a wolf and came to the direction of the gunshot. Everyone was shocked by Mike's sudden action.

"No, Mike!!" Jake prevents Mike but Mike doesn't listen. "Damn!!"

Jake turns into a wolf and chases Mike. Adrian followed Jake. They ran through the woods and chased Mike.

"You feeling good?" ask Livia. Aaron nodded.

"Yes." Yeah."

"Let me give you Jinx. This will speed up your healing. You already have the ability to heal yourself and this will speed it up." Livia gives Jinx a potion and then casts a spell. Aaron's wound instantly closed and healed.

"Why are you here beta? Shouldn't you go to school?" ask Roland.

"I... Seeing suspicious people" Aaron said.

"Suspicious people?"

"Yes." Yeah."

The flashback

Aaron went to the back of the school. He's looking for Kei at Zach's request. He had already searched the entire corner of the school but did not find Kei. He decided to look for her behind the school. Aaron walks all over the back of the school but still doesn't find Kei. He wanted to go back but his legs came to a halt when he heard someone talking.

"But I've tried, he's too cold. Uncle said he found mate. It would be hard if he had found his mate" said someone Aaron believed to be a girl. Initially Aaron did not want to listen but the words mate made him want to listen to her again. Aaron came closer and listened. He knows they're talking about werewolves.

"I know, but the poison must be able to get inside her." This time the male voice.

"He didn't even go to the cafeteria. So I'm... I'm doing another way."

"What do you mean Jane? What way are you talking."

"I... Kissed her... The king."

"What's? If you smell it means the poison you have to put it in-"

"Lips, yes. But isn't that okay? The poison only affects werewolves."

"But we can't risk it, Jane! Are you crazy?!"

"I'm sorry... I don't know how to."

"Have you drunk the antidote?"

"Not yet."

"Why are you so stupid!!"

"But nothing happened!"

"We can't wait for that to happen, right? Go home and drink the antidote. Uncle will be standing guard here."

"Good uncle."

Aaron heard footsteps.  He peeked behind the wall. He saw a girl walking towards the forest while an adult man walked in the opposite direction.

'That girl was wearing this school uniform, which means she went to school here. They call the king, does that mean Kei? Then.. The poison? Kiss? What mean?'

Aaron decides to follow the girl and go into the woods. Aaron tries to keep his distance from the girl so that the girl does not realize Aaron is following her. From the conversation that Aaron had heard earlier, the girl was an ordinary human. Aaron followed her. He focused on seeing the girl and...

Krakk!

He stepped on a tree branch. He stayed in his place for a moment and hid. Jane heard the crack of the branch and turned around. He was stunned because there was not a single person. He turned back then took something out of his jacket pocket then walked again.

Aaron comes out of hiding and follows Jane. Aaron is shocked that Jane's missing. He didn't see Jane anywhere. He sharpened his hearing. He heard a fairly rapid heartbeat. 'He's here. He's hiding.'

Dar!!

A bullet passed Aaron and hit a tree. Aaron was surprised and turned to the direction of the bullet. That girl! Jane walked over to Aaron while brandishing her weapon.

"Why are you following me?" ask Jane.

"Who are you?" ask Aaron.

"No need to know who I am. But it looks like getting a beta isn't so bad" Jane smiled.

"Where do you know I'm a beta?"

"Oh I know about all of you. Alpha, betas... All the. And all you need to know is you're gonna die, everybody" Jane said. A small smile on his lips.

"Why should we die? And who are you really?" asked Aaron wonder. Jane smiled at Aaron.

"Goodbye beta."

Jane shot Aaron, right in the chest. Aaron grimaced in pain then his body whimpered and fell. Jane ran away leaving Aaron alone.

Flashback end

"Wait a minute, so this girl named Jane... Who shot you?" ask Roland. Aaron nodded.

"She's still wearing a uniform which means she's a teenager and she's attending the same school here."

"You pretend to be a teenager. We don't know that. But he's obviously a hunter" Livia said.

"Livia's right, we need to be vigilant."

"I'm sorry... It's all my fault that I'm less vigilant. I've been troubling you" Aaron said. He feels guilty.

"Don't say it like it's beta, it doesn't matter" Adrian said.

"So what are you waiting for? Let's take him to the hospital." take Ryan who was silent earlier. He wondered why they had started talking instead of running Aaron to the hospital.

"Hospital?" ask Kian confused.

"Yes the hospital! He's got hurt! He got shot, for Christ's sake!"

"Uhmm beta, she doesn't need a hospital. We, werewolves, can heal ourselves quickly."

"So you mean... Is he healed?" Ryan was surprised and confused.

"Yes. As long as the wolfsbane bullet is out of his body, Aaron's beta will be fine. The wound will close on its own."

"Wolfsbane hunter? What'sthat?"

"The silver bullet covered by wolfsbane. Wolfsbane is a type of poison that can weaken and even kill werewolves. If we get wolfsbane, we'll find it hard to heal ourselves." Roland explained.

I heard footsteps soon. Jake, Mike and Adrian are back.

"Hows it? Did you see the hunter?" ask Kian.

"No, I didn't see them" Mike said. "They're running away."

"Said the omega, there's a family that just moved here. It's probably them, the hunters" Jake said.

"Maybe, we'll find out."

"What are you guys looking for? We're here" said someone. All looking. "My name is Henry, Henry Dixon."

Mike growled violently, wanting to attack the five-man hunters. But Jake stopped him.

"Enough Mike" said Jake. "What do you want in our region?"

"I want to meet with alpha Sebastian" Henry said. Mike growled louder.

"Easy, Mike. Why would you want to meet him?" ask Jake again.

"I'm a close friend and want to convey something important."

"Friends near you said?! How can a close friend hurt us?"

Mike could not hold back his emotions anymore. He turned into a wolf, and so did Kian. All the hunters are on standby with their respective weapons.

"Hey calm down, Mike! It's getting!" said Jake.

"Wait a minute, what's going on?" henry asked confusedly. "Why do you want to attack us?"

"Because you attacked us first" Adrian said.

"I? We were? When?" Henry was confused. Jake sharpens his hearing. He listened to the heartbeat of the hunter.

"Are you guys shooting our beta?" ask Jake.

"Of course not, we just came" Henry said firmly. Jake checked his heartbeat. 'Normal 'Normal. He's not lying.'

Jake looked at Adrian, Adrian also looked at Jake. They nodded in agreement, if the hunters did not lie. Their heart rate will beat faster if they are nervous or lying.

"Mike, Kian, change back. Not them." jake. Wolf Mike turned his head and looked in surprise then growled a little. "It's not Mike, change."

Mike eventually turns into a human, and so does Kian.

"Have you been attacked?" ask Henry.

"Yes, they shot our beta" Jake said.

"That's not us. We just came. And do you not remember us? We helped you when your king turned into that ancient Lycan monster."

"You guys... The hunter?" ask Kian.

"Yes that's us. Alpha Sebastian himself asked for our help." replied Henry.

"Then... Do you know this bullet?" Jake handed over the bullet that was in Aaron's chest. Henry took it and examined it. He frowned.

"Where did you get this?"

"From our beta chest." replied Adrian.

"Did he survive?"

"Of course" said Jake.

"I'm here." said Aaron who was standing straight. "Do you want me dead?"

"Of course not. But I know this bullet."

"What's one of your hunters?" ask Aaron.

"No, no. Not ours." Henry handed over a bullet they had and one that hit Aaron. Aaron notices her and hands her over to Jake.

"Different hunter." muttered Aaron.

"Then... Where's alpha Sebastian going?" ask Henry.

"He went to visit some other packs" Jake said.

"Is this because of Roger's alpha from the Moon Bykort pack?"

"How do you know?" Jake's surprised.

"I'm here to tell alpha Sebastian something about alpha Roger and after I saw that bullet, I think it's bad."

"What's that bullet?"

"That's a bullet commonly used by the Cigeira family, a family of hunters who... Pretty mean. More cruel than us. The Cigeira family were the oldest of the hunter families and they did not recognize the truce. They're going to destroy the pack that they think threatens human safety." Henry explained.

"But we never hurt ordinary people."

"I know that but they don't care. You're ordinary people, their game, that's what they care about" Henry said.

"Then how should we?" ask Kei who just came. The werewolves bowed respectfully.

"You are... The king." said Henry.

"really. Alpha Sebastian is not here. Just talk to me, sir..."

"Dixon, Henry Dixon."

"Mr Dixon. Just talk to me" Kei said. He stretched out his hand, trying to be friendly. "You don't think I'm too young to be king, do you?"

Henry smiled and welcomed Kei's hand. "Of course not, even though I want to. You have that mustard so dislike it, you are king and I respect you. You don't sound like a teenager to me anyway."

"Good then." Kei smiled.

"But, Your Majesty, what are you doing here? Isn't this still school hours?" ask Jake.

"Zach feels something in his beta."

"Yes but it looks like he's fine." murmured Zach while watching Aaron. 

"I'm good alpha" Aaron said.

"So beta Aaron was shot, by a hunter" Adrian said.

"What?" Zach sees Henry holding a gun and growls.

"Quiet alpha, it's not them" Adrian said.

"He was right alpha. I have a pact with alpha Sebastian, so we won't hurt or kill werewolves. Exactly your pack as long as you still hold your promise."

"All right, I'll... Uhuk... Awaiting you... Uhuk..." Kei coughed. Out of his mouth came blood.  Everyone's surprised.

"Your majesty? You okay?" ask Jake to panic.

"Let's!!"

Kei drowned, he fell on the ground.

"It's because of the girl." murmured Aaron.

"Girl? What girl is Aaron?" ask Ian.

"Hmmm... What noble there is kissing a girl? I mean... Besides the queen's majesty?"

"It was just a misunderstanding" Ian said.

"I know but... Is true?"

"Yes, a girl kissed him. We saw it." Jason said in a nod to Moles. "Name's Jane, Jane Cigeira."

Everyone stared at each other.

"What's this about? Is there a problem?! Say!!" peekik Ian's. He was confused to see everyone just shut up.

"Uhmm beta, it looks like the king has been poisoned."

"Poisons?"

"The girl named Jane smeared the poison on her lips and then she kissed the noble."

"So that's the point of kissing Kei." murmured Ian.

"Let me check. We have to find out what poison he gave me."

Henry approached Kei and looked at his mouth. He opened Kei's mouth and noticed his lips turning purplish.

"There's hardly any left over." Henry brought his nose closer to Kei's mouth. "It's like... Wolfsbane."

"No, if it's wolfsbane, we've kissed it."

"There's one wolfsbane in the world that doesn't smell but is deadly."

"Of course, just one. But it's extinct! I mean... Just one in-" Ian fell silent. He just realized something. "The crystal."

The sound of wolf growls was getting clearer and more and more. Originally only one wolf, there were now three wolves following. Manuel kept running. He got out of jail. Manuel ran in the middle of the night. With a body full of wounds that had not healed completely, he tried to run without stopping. He forced himself to run as hard as he could. He could hear alpha Roger ordering him to stop. But Manuel did not obey him this time. The only thing he had in mind right now was to get out of that pack.

More and more wolves came and joined forces to stop him and capture him. There were two wolves standing in front of him. With power left, beta Manuel jumped high and hit one of the wolves then bit him and hit the other wolf with his head. Beta Manuel's wolf is back. In a moment, he was about to reach the border. One wolf jumped towards him from the side. Manuel's wolf twisted its rear body, dodged the jump then turned back and ran.

Manuel's wolf made it out! But not until there. All those wolves were still chasing after him despite being out of the boundary of the territory. Manuel could hear clearly Roger's alpha command that ordered them to capture Manuel alive or dead. Manuel is about to give up. He's already so exhausted. But if he stops, he'll get caught. She doesn't want to get caught, at least she wants to see her son Nathan, for the last time.

He has been running for a long time. The wolf behind him started to catch up. Manuel's wolf wanted to run even faster but his strength was no longer there. Two wolves were already running next to him. The two wolves came closer and jumped towards him. Manuel's wolf stopped exactly as the two wolves had almost hit him, making the two wolves collide with each other. A wolf attacked him. This time Manuel's wolf was caught. On rolling on the ground. He tried to get up again. Manuel's wolf was attacked with five wolves at once. With drained energy and weak conditions, Manuel could not defend himself well. He was already lying on the ground, helpless.

'What should we do now?'

'Alpha's order is clear. Catch him alive or dead.'

'But he's our beta'

'Are you going against alpha's orders? We've come this far!'

'Kill me.' said beta Manuel. All the wolves looked. 'Kill me. I beg.'

The wolves stared at each other.

'We kill him.'

'true. As the alpha said, live or die. We can kill him instead of us struggling to drag him to the pack. Pack us very far from here.'

'Alright. Who's gonna do it?'

'Let me just.'

The wolf was preparing to bite but suddenly there was a growling sound. Angry and rude growls. They all looked up and were surprised. They then growled angry.

'Who are you guys? What are you doing in our pack area?'

They're shocked. They do not realize if they enter into another pack territory. They look at each other.

'I asked you guys? Who are?!'

'Who are you?'

'I'm Aiden, beta of the Moon Sykort pack. Who're you?'

They're shocked. They did not realize they were in Sykort. Sykort is one of the three largest packages. Lykort, Bykort and Sykort.

'We.. Our.. '

'Beta, it looks like they're omega.'

'Where are you guys from?'

'We.. From Bykort's pack.'

'Bykort? How dare you come in here!'

'Forgive us beta. We're after this fugitive until we don't realize it's in your territory. We are sorry.'

'Buronan?'

Beta Aiden is closing in on Manuel.

'Don't get close, beta. He's gonna hurt you.'

'I'm not afraid. He looks very weak after all.'

Beta Aiden sniffed it and noticed it. Then he realized something.

'Go. Get out of here!'

'Good beta, we'll go and also this fugitive.'

'No, this fugitive lives here.'

'But beta...'

'There's no but-but. Get out of here and leave this fugitive here or you face my troops and you know our army is as strong as Bykort's.'

One by one Sykort's army of wolves appeared. The five wolves looked terrified. They stared at each other for a moment then ran away leaving the Sykort pack followed by some Sykort troops to make sure they were really gone.

'Why did you let them go beta?'

'Just leave. I'm sure their alpha will take good care of them.'

'Then.. Why was he left behind?'

'Because I want to know why he's a fugitive and because I know him. Is it beta Manuel? We've met before.'

Beta Manuel stared at beta Aiden and then turned into a human. Beta Manuel was unconscious.

'Bring him in. I'm going to see alpha.'

Beta Aiden ran towards their alpha house. Some of the omega turned into humans and lifted beta Manuel in.
