Mission Jessy

Mission Jessy
Special Lunch

That night Evan brings Jessy back to school. He had already stolen the duplicate key of the gate belonging to the security guard so that they could enter easily and freely. Jessy showed me the location of the cctv camera and also the surveillance room.

Evan sat in the stands not far from where the cctv camera was located. He then opened his laptop and typed a few keys on the keyboard. The start screen displays codes that Jessy doesn't understand at all. He looks like he's downloading something. And after complete he again danced his fingers on the keyboard.

Jessy felt stunned to see the man sitting next to her. He did not know that the gym teacher who helped him dry his clothes in a strange way turned out to be very adept at playing the codes in the computer.

And for some reason, the gym teacher looked really cool with the silhouette emitted from the laptop screen he was holding. Her seriousness breaks complex codes to help Melva and Jessy make the day Jessy is raging.

Jessy immediately shook her head in order to come to her senses from her crazy imagination. How could he possibly think of the man he had just known when he still had many important missions. All of his missions will fail if he is re-engaged with a creature named man. So Jessy immediately brushed off all the contents of her head.

"What's wrong with you, Mel?"

"Ngga papa, sir. A little dizzy look at my laptop screen."

Evan just smiled and it made Jessy's heart pound again. He even forgot why he used to ignore him just because he was annoyed to be betrothed to a man he did not love. If only Jessy knew at that time that Evan was very kind and caring.

"Done up!"

"What?" Jessy is shocked that Evan just broke his daydream.

Now the cctv footage has moved into Evan's laptop and he starts looking for footage on the day Melva splashes into the pool.

"Look! It's Mei and Fania."

"They deliberately poured oil near your feet."

Evan magnifies the focus of the screen display. But not on the two perpetrators but on the position when Melva's body fell and her scar hit the end of the pool wall.

"Are you sure you're okay, Mel?"

"Indeed a little - ah not-very sick while I was in the water. I didn't even have enough energy to push my body up to the surface. The noise is amazing."

"Do the doctors know?"

Jessy nodded. "Trauma due to impact. But the doctor has given anti-pain and inflammation drugs. Also added physiotherapy schedule. So I guess everything's gonna be fine."

Evan looks doubtful, but he does not want to burden Melva's mind. "Great! You have incredible endurance. I'm sure you can be a great athlete."

Jessy knows Evan is lying. But Jessy was so happy to hear someone say something like that. And without realizing it, his tears began to drip unstoppably.

"Mel, are you okay?! Enough, Mel. Do not let the events of that time repeat themselves. I don't have chocolate to silence you."

Jessy stopped her crying and laughed at Evan's threat. Meanwhile, Evan was also relieved that Melva could laugh again. Although he also knew that the girl was trying to hide a deeper wound.

"Btw, after I brought you up from the pool that time. You even cry. Why?"

"Because I had to fall twice into the same pool because I couldn't swim." Jessy snatches the earphones from Evan's ear and puts them on her phone and ear.

The next morning, Evan, who had just arrived at school, saw Melva standing in front of a notice board in the school lobby. He reads the acceleration class selection test that will be held the day after while listening to music from Evan's earphones. So he did not know that Evan had been standing behind him for a long time.

As he turned around, he hit Evan's body. "Sorry."

Jessy took off next to her Earphon. "Eitherway. I feel that graduating from this school sooner will be better. But -"

"try it. There's no harm, right?"

"Of course." Jessy leaves Evan and puts her earphones back in.

They had no idea that Fania and her friends had been watching from afar.

*****

The break time arrived. Jessy finds out that Fania has a watered-down brain even though her heart is as hard as a rock. He could score nine for a tough math test. And he showed his worth to the whole class as if he were a world champion.

Jessy folded and put her test scoresheet in her shirt pocket. He could not believe that Melva's brain brilliance was still left in her body. That girl is so blessed. He even had the genetic intelligence he was born with, not only because of the thousands of books he read and also the millions of questions he worked on as an exercise.

Jessy decided to have lunch in the cafeteria instead of being alone by the pool. He wanted to reward himself because that day was the first time Jessy got perfect test scores for math subjects.

Jessy used to think math was a dizzying virus that didn't bother to be approached. James was always doing his math assignments and the rest, he left it to teachers who felt responsible for his grades just because his father paid them to teach privately.

Jessy never really understood what a mathematical formula was. Each time the exam, he only needs to memorize the answer key and copy the cheat sheet that has been prepared by his private teacher.

So that day, Jessy felt really great and thanked Melva for the intelligence she left for Jessy. He bought some food and sat on an empty table by the window.

"Well, whoa! Looks like the ash pick-up started daring to eat in the cafeteria with us."

Jessy continues to enjoy the song with her earphones and ignores Fania and her friends' unimportant babble. Jessy hasn't enjoyed her favorite meal in the cafeteria. Not because he did not want to deal with as many people and noise as he used to, but because he knew very well that now he should not be wasteful for the sake of his mother.

He has been a lot of trouble for Ms. Rahma, so he does not want to burden her with a lot of pocket money every day. Therefore, Jessy prefers to be alone near the pool.

For him now, a piece of fried banana that his mother brought from home, was enough to prop up his stomach during the day. It is also good to help with her diet program. So Jessy thought.

So Jessy took advantage of that rare moment and continued to enjoy her food while slightly shaking her head to the rhythm of the song that runs through her ears. Jessy had no idea that Fania was deeply disturbed by Jessy's attitude.

Pyars....

Jessy jumped to her feet in surprise. The sound of falling plate shards hitting the floor was clear even as he covered his ears with earphones and listened to the song aloud.

Behind Jessy was Fania with a red face and Evan who was holding Fania's hand which was directly above Jessy's head while sitting earlier. Jessy hurriedly took off her earphon.

"What's this?"

"Basic germs! You should realize you don't have a place here. I'm going to make you go all the way from school. If I need to send your nyokap who upik the ashes to hell so you suffer more."

Jessy reflexively slid her fist towards Fania's face but Evan swiftly held her back. He could be silent even though Fania said it all sorts. But he couldn't accept if Melva's mother was so well insulted by Fania's trash mouth.

"Fania stop! Now come with me to the teacher's room!" Evan takes off Melva's hand and pulls Fania's hand trying to get close and hits Jessy back.

"Depart, Sir! Why the hell is Mr. Evan always buying these germs? Do you like her rich little girl?"

"Fania enough!"

Evan took the girl to the teacher's room. Jessy doesn't believe that the food on the floor would almost spill over her head if Evan stopped her too late.
