Studying together that night was a lot of fun for Jessy and Mirza. They sit next to each other on the carpet and discuss how a formula can answer a question for the sake of the problem they have to solve.

Mirza also made him a cup of coffee and gave him a box of chocolates stored in his fridge. Jessy also occasionally issued a joke-joke like Evan used to give him and it turns out it can make Mirza smile amused.

That alone was enough for Jessy as she could see Mirza coming back as cheerful as before.

"So when did Mas Mirza come?"

"Not yet."

"Don't long dong... The campus is deserted if there is no Mas Mirza."

"You expect me to believe in your crush? It turns out you're more laughable than a novel?"

"Have a son! My premise can be tested with theory and research. So it can't be called a novel."

"So.. ngeles!"

They laughed and chided each other.

"So, do you remember the accident that night? About Lili."

Jessy's laughter suddenly faded. "Why is Mirza Nanyain talking about that?"

"Are you not interested in the letter you put in the book?"

Jessy was glued, her lips were twisted and she didn't know what to say.

"Why do I know all that now? You should have said, Mel. Give me an explanation of why you changed and made that decision."

Jessy was trying to digest every sentence that came out of Mirza's mouth carefully. He did not know where Mirza was talking and he was afraid of mispronouncing if he made a comment. So he chose to shut up and listen to everything Mirza wanted to say.

"Now I can understand why you chose to leave me. And we shouldn't have to meet again like this. I'm a fool to let you go through all those evil accusations alone. Papa I did it. And now, I'm just a coward who doesn't have the guts to drag my dad to jail."

Now Jessy knows what Melva's letter is about. Hearing Mirza discuss her papa, Jessy is convinced that Melva has sent the best revised version of the letter she found in Melva's diary.

Jessy patted Mirza's shoulder which looked very sad and regretful. "Mas Mirza is wrong. It was an accident."

"But papa"

Seeing that Mirza was not improving after hearing her words, Jessy added, "Even if we open the case back now it will all be in vain. I definitely didn't write that letter to make Mas Mirza blame myself like this. I just want Mas Mirza not to misunderstand my choice at that time. But who would have thought that the letter had just come to his Mas Mirza by now."

Mirza looks better now, so Jessy takes advantage of the opportunity to retire before it gets too late.

"Well then I'll go home, huh, Mom?"

"Wait here! I'm gonna change my clothes and get the keys first."

"Oh, don't. Mirza take a break, let me take a taxi."

"It's late, Mel. The danger!"

A few minutes later Mirza was back with her beige sweater and car keys in hand. "Yeah!"

There wasn't much they talked about on the way home that night. Jessy believes Mirza must be thinking about a lot of things so she doesn't want to bother him.

"Did you know Andre was kicked out of college?"

"What?"

"Campus officials are worried that he will have to deal with the law. So they cut the ulcer off before it travels all over the body."

"But haven't I filed a lawsuit yet, Mas?"

"Evan would not have brought this case."

"But it's -"

"A lecturer who abuses his profession to do such despicable deeds is not worthy of your pity. I'm sure it wasn't his first time, but worse this time he's thinking of using you."

"Thank you, Mas Mirza has helped me!"

"Help what?"

"I know that Mas Mirza deliberately gave me that much duty so that I was busy and did not have time to correct his dissertation Mr. Andre. Evan's brother also told me that he got a lot of information about Mr. Andre from Mas Mirza."

Mirza was nonchalant as if she had never heard a compliment from Melva, although deep in her heart she felt flowery and proud.
