"Are you awake, Mel?" mom asked Rahma when Jessy came out of her room that morning. "You haven't slept all night? Your eyes are rich in pandas."
"Yes, Mel can't sleep, Mom."
"Yes, have some tea, Mel."
Jessy drank the warm tea that Ms. Rahma had prepared for her at the table. "Where is Evan, Mom?"
"Outside. It's a lot more washing the car with David's son."
Jessy finally came out. Evan and David were busy washing the car while joking. Jessy looked at the car carefully. The type, color and license plate corresponded to what James said. It's hard to say it's a fabrication or a mere coincidence.
Jessy approaches the front of the car and hopes to find any small clues that may still be left, such as a scratch or a slight dent that could indicate that the car actually had an accident before.
But again Jessy found nothing there. Paying attention to the economic condition of the Evan family, such a small damage would have been immediately overcome if it existed.
"What are you, Mel?" ask David suddenly.
Jessy was surprised, "Ah! Brother David just!"
"What's the hell up to that rich shock?" ask David again.
Evan, who heard Jessy's voice, approached her. "Are you awake, baby?"
"Ah, yes. Still a long time to wash it? I'm ready to have breakfast for you." Jessy rushed back into her house.
And Evan who felt very curious immediately followed Jessy's steps into the room.
"Jess what's wrong?" ask Evan to the point.
Jessy shakes. He then invited Evan to sit on the edge of the bed with a position facing each other. And it was enough to tell Evan that the girl must have been about to talk about serious matters with him.
"Say!" order Evan who can no longer bear to see the suspicious behavior of his wife.
Jessy then tells about her last meeting with James and also the alleged involvement of Tarisa, Evan's mother, in the case of the accident that befell Melva.
"What?!"
"Sister, I don't know if this is a coincidence or just engineering. I -"
Not yet had Jessy finish her sentence, Evan had risen from his seat and immediately rushed to his car and sat behind the wheel.
"Van, where are you going?" asked David who was still holding the canoebo to dry Evan's car.
"Lake in!" tell Evan brief
And David who still did not understand the situation immediately got into the car following the orders of the sidekick who now doubles as his boss.
Jessy, not expecting Evan's reaction, rushes to Evan and tries to stop his car.
"Sister! Open it!" pinta Jessy while banging on the glass of Evan's car which slowly moves back to leave the yard Jessy's house. "Sister! Stop!!!!!!"
Evan flinching. He kept running his car as if he hadn't heard Jessy's words.
"Van! Lo why the hell?! What's the matter? Jessy asked you to stop, Van!" Said David who was increasingly confused by Evan's strange behavior.
Evan finally got out of Jessy's yard, turned the steering wheel and drove his car towards Jakarta. Jessy who has not given up trying to chase after Evan until finally fell.
"Van, Stop!!!!" david shouted when he saw Melva fall from the rearview mirror. "Lo crazy huh?! What the hell, Van? If you don't want to nolongin Melva, let me go down."
David removed his seatbelt, but Evan stopped him as he opened the car door. Instead, he finally went down to help his wife who was sitting on the street crying.
Jessy was happy to see Evan finally coming to her. "Don't go, brother! I don't want Evan to go this way."
"There's something we need to get right."
"I'm coming!" pinta Jessy with a hopeful face.
Evan shook his head, "Wait here until everything is clear!"
Evan helps Jessy wake up and asks her to return home. As Evan turns to head to his car, Jessy chases after him and hugs him from behind.
"Sister Evan has to come back. Whatever happens, I'll wait until Evan's brother comes back." whispered Jessy from behind Evan's back.
Evan took off Jessy's hand that wrapped around her waist, then turned around, faced her and smiled. "Take care of yourself!"
He hugged Jessy for a moment, then rushed back into his car and spurred her on. He must find out the truth immediately. He doesn't want to make Jessy wait too long.
********
A few days have passed since Evan and David returned to Jakarta, but Jessy has not been able to contact Evan. Day by day he went through with great anxiety. He even lost his appetite, sleep, exercise and learning. He was anxious to think about what would happen after the truth was revealed.
The plunge during college hours seems to have become a new habit Jessy lately. He sat in class but his mind floated somewhere. Many times Aldo woke her from the daydream, but Jessy would come back to daydream again in just a few moments. He finds it very difficult to focus on what he sees and hears.
"Mel, can you help me explain it up front?" ask Mirza suddenly.
"What?! Sorry, sir. But I still don't understand that. Excuse me for going back." Jessy replied lightly, fearlessly and without any guilt.
The whole class looked up at Melva's behavior. It could be that the students who asked the lecturer to come forward even refused firmly and asked for permission to leave the class.
Mirza who also realized how disrespectful Melva's attitude was quite upset. But he was sure that the girl must have had a reason why she was acting so obnoxious.
"Yes, maybe Melva can't focus because she wants to hold back. Let's just continue, maybe someone can replace Melva to move forward? An additional ten points for the value of quiz." said Mirza to again melt the classroom atmosphere that was stiff due to the action of Melva.
The students scramble for an extra ten points from Mirza.
******
Even until her college hours are over, Melva does not return to class so Mirza decides to look for her while Aldo carries his bags and writing utensils to his car.
Mirza searched several places and finally found the girl sitting under a tree behind the campus library. Mirza offered a glass of fresh fruit juice to the dreamy Melva.
"Eh, Mas Mirza. Make it a shock. How do you know I'm here again?"
"It turns out you haven't changed" Mirza replied lyingly.
"Did I love sitting here?" ask Jessy.
Mirza again lied and nodded. He did not want to be caught looking for Melva around the campus because he was worried.
Jessy then drank the juice. "Bwah, what the hell? Ice juice or ice cube juice?"
"Well don't you like juice with a lot of ice cubes? You used to like to chew the ice cubes left over from your drink. You said it was good enough to reduce your frustration."
"Emang yes?" ask Jessy doubtfully.
'Really ridiculous this is a child? why also ice cubes? make the teeth grate. If it is Kesel, mending directly to you***** is the person.' Jessy's mind
"What's wrong with you, Mel?"
"Oh no papa."
"Lately you've been daydreaming more."
Jessy was confused as to what to say. Although he really likes Mirza, but he does not want to complain about his problems with his mother Evan to Mirza. She is, after all, Evan's wife and daughter-in-law of Tarisa. It is not ethical to talk about family matters to others.
"Oh, that....... That's......." Jessy thought of a reasonable answer. "I miss my dad."
Mirza stared fixed Jessy until Jessy clumsy and misbehaved herself. "Mas Mirza why do you think I'm rich?"
Mirza stared at the watch in her hand which still showed ten o'clock in the morning. It wasn't too late to go a little further out of town.
"I want to take you somewhere. But you let your mommy go first? Because maybe we'll be home a little night."
"Where are we going?"
"There's one place I want to point you at."
