Married for Slander

Married for Slander
Chapter 48.

After moving Alana to the gurney, Azzam left the luggage room for a moment. He went to the nurse and asked her to attach the intravenous needle that his wife had removed earlier.

After Azzam disappeared from his sight, Alana again sobbed in memory of her husband's words. Although Azzam had said that he accepted it, Alana still felt unworthy to be with her husband.

The man was already too dizzy with the problems he was facing, Alana did not want to add a new burden to her husband. He wanted to run away from that place but circumstances forced him to stay there, he really could not move his legs.

Not long after, Azzam came with a nurse. Alana who saw their arrival just kept silent and chose to close her eyes. Even when the nurse paired the infusion in her hand, she only grimaced with the pain.

Shortly after the nurse left the room, Azzam sat on a chair and clasped Alana's hands tightly, occasionally kissing her affectionately.

Alana could feel the softness of her husband's lips. His heart was filled, the corner of his eyes just let out liquid.

"Pretty dear, don't cry anymore!" said Azzam when pecking his wife's face with a wistful, Azzam raised his buttocks and wiped Alana's cheeks with his palm.

"Why not just leave me? I'm just a burden to you." said Alana, opening her eyes slowly, she pecked at Azzam's sparkling bead.

"No, I have chosen you, so only you deserve to be by my side." Azzam stressed with emphasis.

"But I'm useless, I'm just gonna"

"That's it, don't think that far. We'll face this test together." Azzam rubbed Alana's head and kissed her affectionately.

No matter how difficult the burden he had to face in the future, Azzam remained tight-lipped with his stance. He'll find the best doctor for Alana, if necessary he'll take her abroad.

"Now just rest first, I'm not going anywhere." Azzam wiped Alana's cheek and kissed her eyelids.

Alana also raised the corner of her lips to form a thin smile then grabbed Azzam's nape and hugged him tightly. "I want to go home, I don't want to be treated here."

"Yes, we're going home. But wait for the decision from the doctor first." said Azzam in a very soft voice.

Alana nodded weakly and further tightened her embrace. Inevitably, Azzam was forced to peg in the position of the back. Her waist was cramping because Alana was not letting go.

Almost thirty minutes Azzam froze in such a position. When Alana fell asleep then she could move away and stretch the muscles that felt very stiff, Azzam's waist seemed to want to be released made.

Then Azzam took a quick look at Alana and kissed her cheek gently. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault." heed Azzam then pulled the blanket and covered part of Alana's body.

Just as Azzam was about to sit on a chair, his phone suddenly rang. Azzam did not sit on the chair and chose to walk to the door. He came out for a moment while reaching into his pants pocket.

Upon arrival outside, Azzam narrowed his eyes to pick up Erni's name which was plastered on his phone screen. He swiped the green button and greeted the mother.

"Azzam, where are you, son? Rudi said you didn't go, is that true?"

Azzam stared intently at Rudi who was still faithfully waiting in a chair. "Basic bucket!" inner Azzam gouged.

"Yes Ma'am, Azzam is not leaving. Azzam has found Alana, he-"

"What's the matter, son?"

"Alana's paralyzed, Mom. Alana can't walk like before. It's all Azzam's fault, Azzam's already made Alana suffer."

"No dear, don't blame yourself! Where are you now? I'll be there."

After the phone was cut off, Azzam sent a message saying he was in the hospital. After that, he asked Rudi to wait for Alana there, he left the place and walked towards the doctor's room.

Azzam wanted to know how the condition of Alana's legs actually. Is the paralysis permanent or is it still curable?

Arriving at the doctor's office, Azzam came in after knocking on the door and sat across the doctor's desk.

Without making small talk, Azzam immediately asked how his wife was. The doctor explained that Alana's legs can still be cured as long as Alana wants to undergo routine therapy.

Azzam mangosteen heard the doctor's words. He also scheduled a meeting for the next month.

Azzam then asked if Alana could be taken home, the doctor nodded and prescribed Alana medicine.

After getting what he wanted, Azzam resigned. He stepped towards the administration desk and paid all the bills then returned to Alana's room.

Before entering the room, Azzam thrust the prescription paper given by the doctor into the hands of Rudi and asked him to redeem the drug.

Rudi nodded in agreement. After taking over the recipe from Azzam's hands, he left Azzam alone.

Azzam sat for a moment in the waiting chair, his face looking very tired thinking about his wife's situation.

Why is he so stupid? If he had dared to meet Alana the first time he saw her in the shophouse, maybe the girl wouldn't have been this broken. He was wrong, jealousy made his ego even higher.

Azzam was really sorry, he felt guilty for having judged Alana. She should have been able to see how devastated Alana was then.
