Chapter 41 - Garden

Elmer and Ela had reached their destination in a park that looked quiet but there was a lot of lighting there. At first glance it looks like nothing special there.

Elmer took Ela to sit on a park bench directly opposite the fountain.

"So, this is your only request? Just accompany you to sit in the park?" ask Ela to make sure.

Elmer nodded. He replied, "This is all but El. You know who I am and how famous I am. In the afternoon or evening, it is usually full. How could I dare to come here. There's a crowd of fans."

"Yes, that's true, '" said Ela, who confirmed Elmer's words.

"Did you come here alone all night?" ask Ela again.

"Yes, almost every week maybe. Usually I'm here to get rid of my shit and get saturated with my routine."

"Don't bring Sam?"

Elmer.

"Kasian, he's the most tired, almost every workday, taking care of me this and that. Yeah, even though I always seem to care less about him. But he's the one I trust the most."

Ela understood a little now. Behind Elmer's confident attitude was sky-high and looked rather irritable. He has empathy too.

Amidst the atmosphere being quite supportive with cold air and wind that kept blowing towards them. Actually Elmer wanted to put his jacket on to Ela to be as romantic as in the movies. However, it was lost that fantasy because Ela also wore a thick jacket.

Huh! Why wear a thick jacket! I can't be romantic, ' Elmer grumbled inside.

"Ela, why haven't you answered my declaration of love yet?" ask Elmer.

Ela turned to Elmer and then turned back and looked straight ahead.

"And I told you, I don't take your declaration of love seriously. So, what's it answer for?" reply Ela.

"Yes, already. I don't want to. That's the answer," Ela replied.

"Of course, if you're going to say no, you better hang my feelings. I won't assume your rejection tonight exists."

"Huh, you freak! Turn has been answered, even rich."

"Lod."

Both of them were silent and looked at the same sky. There are a lot of stars up there with a crescent moon as her friend.

Elmer started asking again.

"Why do you seem to be too closed off to men? Do you have a bad past about that?"

Ela does not answer, but a sigh is heard from the woman, making Elmer realize that indeed Ela has a bad past as well as possible. Because Ela never spoke, Elmer began to tell her about herself. Though at first he wanted Ela herself to ask and be curious about him. But if you continue to wait for that time, maybe until even the lebaran monkey will never happen.

"I'll tell you about myself. Although maybe you're not too curious about that. But, I hope you can be a good listener and tonight we can share each other's stories. Want it a good story or a bad one."

Elmer started to breathe. Actually it's a bit difficult for him to tell this let alone this very-very privacy. Only two people knew about the trauma. But, he believes, Ela can be trusted and he will make Ela the third person to know.

"Don't tell a story, because I don't want to share a story with you" Ela said.

"It's okay, I'll keep the story. Maybe after hearing my story later, your heart will be moved and start looking at me differently than usual."
