Chapter 24 - Astrid's Story at the House of In-Law

Astrid is leaving this morning for her in-laws' house with her husband. Yes, it happens to be a long national holiday. They decided to spend time in the city.

The journey takes 3 hours to the destination.

Upon arrival at home, Astrid is welcomed as her own child by her mother-in-law. The middle-aged woman relentlessly hugged and kissed her daughter-in-law's cheeks.

"Mom misses you so much!" vivi.

"I miss you too" Astrid said.

"Mom prepared your favorite meal, let's have lunch together!" bring Vivi.

"Mom doesn't want to hug me?" Alpha protest.

"Geez, I forgot," Vivi patted her eel and hugged her only son.

"I miss you so much" said Alpha.

Releasing his embrace, then pulling his son's hand into the house.

"Dad!" alpha hugged Ari.

"How are you, son?" ask the middle-aged man who is now 61 years old.

"Me and Astrid are so good, Dad.

"Your mother always asks about you" said Ari.

"I'm sorry, Dad. Both of us keep you waiting" said Alpha, feeling guilty.

"It's okay, son. You took the time to call, we were very happy" said Ari.

"Yes, Dad."

"Don't just talk, let's eat!" Vivi stopped the father and son's chatter.

The four sat at the dinner table, enjoying lunch with side dishes and favorite vegetables Alpha and his wife.

Since the two got married 3 months ago, they have never come to visit. Because of the busyness of each post-marriage.

"How are the Young Master and his wife?" ask Vivi.

"They're healthy and the Princess is also good at talking" Alpha replied.

"Definitely the Princess is very funny, at your wedding she was so adorable. When are you going to have a baby?" ask Vivi.

Astrid and Alpha looked at each other, not knowing what to answer.

"Mom, they just got married and let's enjoy some time together. If the time is certain they will have a baby" said Ari.

Vivi understood and apologized to her daughter-in-law.

"It's okay, Mom. That was natural, because Mama asked him too. If indeed we are given the opportunity, I will immediately inform Mother," Astrid promised.

"You guys stayed over, right?" ask Ari.

"Yes, Dad. We'll stay two nights here" Alpha replied.

"Oh," said Ari and Vivi together.

"Alpha, you'll accompany me to the pool!"

After lunch, Astrid helped Vivi clean up the dirty dishes and cookware.

After berberes both sit enjoying mango fruit crops in front of his house on the terrace.

Astrid enjoys sweet and sour mangoes. Yeah, he likes it a lot. Especially when she and her husband are not married. Alpha always brought the fruit from Harsya's residence sometimes from her in-laws' house.

"Later if you go home, I'll bring it for you" said Vivi.

"Thank you, Mom."

"Yes" said Vivi. "Oh, yeah. How are Intan and Rissa?" continues asking.

"They're all good, Mom."

"Have not seen them in a long time" Vivi said.

"They can't be on holiday, ma'am. There are strict rules of Harsya. So, had to take turns taking leave."

"Oh, so. You guys never get to go on vacation together."

"Any holiday together should be with the Harsya family. I know how the Young Master looks after his wife and children."

Amidst the chatter of the two, Vivi arrives

a guest who is his sister-in-law.

"There are guests" said the middle-aged woman.

Astrid immediately grabbed the woman's hand and kissed her not forgetting to smile.

"The wife is Alpha, just came 'yes?" tanyakanya.

"Yes, Aunt." Answer Astrid.

"What are you guys taking?" ask again.

Astrid, surprised by the question the woman asked, turned her eyes to her mother-in-law.

"Sister-in-law, come in first. We chatted inside" Vivi said.

"I'm only here for a moment, wanting to see my sister. Where is he?"

"Father again in the pool, Auntie." Astrid answered.

"Tell him, when do you give me the monthly money?"

"Sister-in-law, later if Ari has money he will give it," explained Vivi.

"Don't be long, I'll pay the electricity and water bills. Moreover, my grandson wants to drink milk and snacks" he said.

"Where are his parents, Auntie?" ask Astrid.

"My mother kicked me out of the house, because she had no income" he replied.

"God, how cruel he is!" Astrid.

"Alpha isn't married long, is she pregnant?" tanyakanya.

"Just pray, brother-in-law. May Astrid get pregnant soon" Vivi replied.

"Speed of pregnancy, Alpha will be left. Don't be like your mother-in-law, four-year-old newly married pregnant. If you don't conceive, your father-in-law has been told to remarry!" revealed.

"I'm sure Alpha won't leave me" said Astrid, who disliked her mother-in-law's sister-in-law's words.

"Sister-in-law, my son-in-law just came. Please, don't corner him" Vivi said.

The middle-aged woman passed.

"Mom, why is Aunt's mouth like that?" ask Astrid upset.

"His second son died when he was one month old and his first son his father Dennis worked off the island. He sends money once every three months that's just enough a week."

"What a smell, yes. He shouldn't treat people the same way he does" Astrid said.

At night before going to bed, in bed...

Astrid and her husband were in Alpha's room when they were unmarried.

"Darling, I met your mother's sister-in-law."

"Where?"

"So he came here and asked mom for money" Astrid replied.

"Oh, Auntie Wita does ask for money on me often."

"But I said I don't have money yet."

"Dad has promised to help Aunt Wita."

"But that attitude I don't like. He should have been patient, not even quipped mother," Astrid said.

"Mom didn't cry, did she?" ask Alpha.

"No, I'm the only one who's upset."

"Aunte Wita's mouth is so, they understand it," said Alpha.

Alpha laughed a little.

Alpha peeps his wife's head off, "I promise you, we'll always be together."

Astrid looked up and smiled, "I love you, my husband."

"Me too!"

The two kiss each other.
