LIFEWEAR
THE TRUTH IS TOO LATE

My days began to run normally and quietly. I began to get busy with my sewing activities. With the money saved, I decided to rent a small kiosk in the traditional market of my city.

I'm in a race against time, because my time off from college is about to run out. So I should be able to raise money and make this venture run smoothly.

In addition to completing the order, I also began sewing ready-to-wear clothes that I sold on social media that I designed myself.

Yeah.a little tiring indeed. They leave in the morning and go home in the afternoon, even almost in the evening. Not necessarily every day there is income. His name is also new and pioneering. But I have to be strong for the dreams that lie in my head.

"Mak. I'm home." I said while opening the door.

"Eh...There's a guest." I said when my eyes saw a woman in the living room.

My forehead was wrinkled because I felt a strange atmosphere between my parents and that woman. Mother's eyes are swollen and red as if crying. My dad's acting weird. He was agitated and restless and somewhat paled when I arrived. The woman sat with a haughty face there.

"What's this?" I said as soon as I sat down next to Mom.

They just shut up and look at each other. My heart is getting bad. The corner of my eye saw my sisters peeking out of the room with sad faces. Uh! They must not be allowed to interfere here. This must be a serious matter.

"Mommy?" ask me gently. Mom immediately sobbed.

"I'm your father's second wife." Said the woman in a tight tone while holding hands and leaning on the sofa.

I'm appalled. I looked at my father with a sharp look. I was so angry. He just nodded weakly.

"Oh..!! So this woman cheated on you first?! I thought you've changed! It turns out...." I cannot continue my words. My chest rumbled with anger. Mind fucked. I clenched my hand hoping I wouldn't get out of control.

"Your father asked to separate Nak" said Mother on the sidelines of her cries. He's holding my arm. I knew he didn't want me to explode in anger.

"Sir!" I'm calling my dad. I need an explanation even if it doesn't change anything.

"sorry. I loved her a long time ago."

" From before?! I don't understand what you mean."

"She's your father's ex-girlfriend Ris." My mother chimed in with a soft voice.

"Mamak and I were betrothed to Risa. You can't refuse your grandfather and grandmother's request. But I also love and love your mother."

"Omong empty!" Say my Mother. He's so windy. His eyes were emitting a great hatred.

"You yourself don't want to be combined. I was patient for so long because our children were little. But now they're big. They can understand."

"Don't make the kids an excuse sir! I know that her husband just died. Is it Ayu?!"

The woman called My mother by the name of Ayu was a little nervous to hear Mother's words.

"You guys are so savage!" Mom came back crying. I just saw Mom this time so angry. Perhaps he was already tired of enduring all his heartache and disappointment. He might be tired of pretending he doesn't know.

I don't know how a woman can hurt a woman. How can a husband who has lived for years with a day of betrayal only because of love of youth.

"It's Mbak. Please sign it." The woman handed him a piece of paper. Divorce Letter!

"Mom!" My sister screamed and approached us. They hugged my mother. To see that sight.

I took a deep breath and exhaled violently. I need to be able to control the situation. I don't want my sister and my mom's psychic state getting messed up.

"If you really want to live with this woman, please. We won't hinder your happiness." I'm silent for a moment. I want to see how they react.

"Yes. I think it's better that way. There's no point holding you back." Connect Mom in between her tears. I was about to get the divorce papers but I immediately got hold of them.

"Father will never be able to divorce Mamak! I'll never allow that!" My threat.

"Let Ris. My mom is sincere." Said Mother.

I shook my head and held my mother's hand.

"It's enough Mama gave up. It's time for Mama to enjoy life. Even without a husband, you can be happy. I just wanted to teach them a little lesson." I turned my eyes to the father and the woman.

"What do you mean you said Risa?!" Saying My Father.

I smiled cynically. If I didn't remember the norm, I would've spit.

"You think I said that because of affection? Father wrong! I want to torture this father's beautiful wife a little."

"Hey! Don't start being rude! You won't be able to touch me. Is that right, baby?" Said the woman while struggling spoiled in the arms of Father who was greeted by a gentle swipe of my father's hand.

"You think I'm a thug?! Huh! I'd rather use my brain than my boxing mistress. Sometimes boxing can help a little. I just want you branded a household wrecker! cheap lady! bad women and other names for your whole life."

"Risa! You....!" My father's face flushed with anger.

"That goes for Dad too! To have you haunted by the guilt of a lifetime. You think you can live free and quiet? Don't dream!"

"Based on a brat!" I threw a slap in my face.

Everyone was strangled and shocked. My sister started crying hugging me. For the first time in my life you dared to slap me. The pain in my heart exceeds the pain of my reddened face. I couldn't cry, only my eyes were staring hard at him.

"Enough! You better go! I know you're after your parents' houses and stalls. You can take the stall but not this house! Go ye! Before I report the village head."

They left with slightly disappointed faces. They hope that after the divorce they can take all the relics of grandfather. But they came home empty-handed.

After they died, my mother's cries became more and more. We just kept quiet and hugged my wife. Pat her back gently. Let all the claustrophobic things that he has harbored for years spill with tears.

"Mamak still has us. Me and brother can take care of you." Said my youngest brother innocently while gently wiping Mom's tears.

"Yes dear. Mama must be strong. Mama still has you, my pride. You guys should be people. Yeah..". There was a bit of happy twinkle that appeared in my mother's eyes. My mother is the strongest and most powerful woman in the world.

"Yes Mak. We will fight for Mamak's happiness. Later I'll buy the mouths of those julids with my success." Nanda said, We laughed together.

That's how life is, sometimes crying sometimes laughing. Sometimes we laugh in tears, sometimes we cry in laughter.
