LAST GREETINGS

LAST GREETINGS
Episode 22

Mike went nowhere today. Since waking up in the morning, he had only been quiet at the boarding house - reading a few books and continuing to write some unfinished poems.

Mike makes use of his free time before a short night he'll be back on night shift duty as a security man.

There is no shadow that presents the face of Tania or Mega. Mega is busy with her relationship with Kevin.

Mega's meeting with Tania has given Mike a bright spot - no more doubts - Mike is just waiting for the right time to express his heart and Tania will accept him, be his lover.

Tania has said that she felt comfortable being with Mike since their first meeting and several meetings. He's already given the sign and Mike has heard it himself.

Mike completed a poem he had begun a few weeks ago but could only finish today - a poem about the past he had buried deeply in recent years.

Mike never told Mega, Kevin, even Tania - they didn't know anything about Mike's past. No one asked either.

Mike deliberately wrote the poem so that later, when Tania was already his lover, he would no longer make the same mistake.

All of which he has described in his poem Love and Wound; it tells the story of a girl who taught her what love and gadia are themselves who taught that in love there are things that must be consequences and we must explain.

Mike sat at the table where he used to sit on guard all night while on duty. He checked several hotel guests who would enter and stay in the hotel where he was in charge of maintaining security.

The time on his watch was almost ten at night. Mike had just escorted a hotel guest to the reception desk when the guest asked Mike to drive him - a half-aged father who was on business to Jakarta.

The father is from outside Jakarta and will be in Jakarta for the next few days to carry out his business duties.

The father called someone and said he had found a hotel to stay at. He also said that he had rented one more room and he sent the hotel address to the person he called. Mike momentarily thought that the father was not alone, he came with someone again.

Mike had just sat down for a few minutes, then there was a voice greeting him - his voice was familiar. Mike lifted his face and his eyes clashed for a moment - without saying a single word. He took a moment.

The girl who was in front of him was currently taking part in the sculpting. No more words came out of his mouth - just a good night's greeting - before Mike looked up his head at his face.

Laura, the girl who once inhabited Mike's heart is now in front of her former lover who she left without any news. It was his family that made him leave Mike.

His long hair was unraveling, his eyelashes flicked and his sharp eyes did not change in the slightest. Only the dimple on the left side of her cheek was not visible.

Mike's legs trembled for a moment. He wanted to drop his body back into the chair. Mike doesn't believe what he's seeing right now.

The girl who had taught him what love was five years ago when he was in third grade High School. The girl who then brought happiness just before made him bury everything deeply when he disappeared without any message.

The last news he heard was that Laura was married to the son of a Camat one of the sub-districts in East Nusa Tenggara province.

Laura is now in front of him with her charm still unchanged, only her weight has increased - because she already has children.

"Sorry, how can I help you, Miss ?" mike asked suddenly, trying to hide what I was feeling right now.

For a moment Laura felt a deep pain when her ex-lover greeted her with courtesy as miss.

"Oh, hmm. I'm looking for an inn and someone has already booked it for me at this hotel" Laura replied half nervously.

Mike's mind began to go where - after hearing Laura say her room was booked. He thought about father.

"Who was she to Laura ? Ah no. I can't think of anything bad about Laura," she muttered for a moment.

"Oh yeah. I'll drive you, " answered Mike quickly.

Laura just kept quiet and obeyed. But he didn't want to just leave. It's the first time in five years that Mike has parted ways. He looked at Mike a little longer.

"Mike, I'm sorry. I don't know where to start," Laura said suddenly preventing Mike's foot from stepping.

Mike stopped and turned his body and faced Laura again. His gaze was directed precisely to the point of staring at Laura sharply. His blood boiled very quickly when he heard Laura say sorry.

"That's it after you broke my heart, Laura ?"

Mike still hasn't averted his eyes, his gaze still fixed staring into his eyes.

Laura couldn't hold back her tears. He started shaking. His feet did not hold him back.

"I was betrothed at that time because my father's debt could not be paid. I was ensnared in a forced love that required me to marry young. My father couldn't pay the debt to Camat's father and I was forced to marry his son" Laura said. His voice trembled, his tears slowly began to drip rapidly.

For a moment Laura recalled the memories of that time. Her tears could no longer be held back. He does not care where he is now, noticed by people around him he is lazy to know.

Mike could not stand up so he dropped his body on the chair. Not a word came out of his mouth.

The girl he once loved so much, his first love that taught him what love is now back and showed his charm before him after he managed to mengikhlaskan.

"Mike, I'm sorry. I know it's too late, and you may not forgive me" Laura said after Mike said nothing.

Laura approached Mike quickly and held Mike's hand. Lucky that no one saw the sight, Mike's co-worker wasn't there - he was across the street ordering coffee. Mike just kept quiet letting Laura do it.

"Mike, will you forgive me ?" Laura asked again in a pleading tone. His face showed all his regrets.

"I know I don't deserve you anymore. I already have one child, I take care of it alone. I officially parted ways with my husband after I managed to repay all my father's debts. I'm working as a private assisstant of a businessman now. He was at this hotel and called me to stay here because he had booked a room for me. I wanted to stay with my brother but my boss wouldn't let him" Laura tried to explain everything about him.

Mike was relieved to know she wasn't a call girl or anything. He tried to throw away the negative thoughts and then dare to look at Laura again.

"I forgave you long before you apologized. I understand your condition now," said Mike calmly as he spread a smile, trying hard to deal with what he was going through at the moment.

Laura wiped the tears on her cheek and returned Mike's smile. The dimple on his left cheek now looked very clear.

"Your mountain is still beautiful" said Mike, trying to shake off the sadness in Laura's eyes. Mike had no other way, he took Laura and buried deep in his love.

Just now Mike finished a poem about Love and Wound that Laura scratched in his heart and tonight Laura was in front of him.

How awesome is God's plan. This teaches us that in a relationship that has ended, all we have to do is to let go. Forgetting might not be possible for anyone.

Laura is now smiling again and showing her charm that is still not lost.

"I've let you know, Laura. Be happy. You deserve it. Don't even think about me anymore. I'm doing fine. I'm relieved, you've explained your reason. I'm sorry for what you've been through. At least I'm happy God still gives us a chance to meet here. Don't blame yourself. I will always support you. Be happy Laura," Mike said at length to comfort Laura.

Laura smiled back and thanked Mike. Mike's right hand suddenly moved itself stroking Laura's cheek. Laura was silent. Mike smiled again.

"Come in, your boss is waiting for you" Mike said again as he walked in.

Mike walked in front of him to the reception, chatted briefly with one of his receptionists and asked Laura for room 21 cardlock.

"Thank you Mike" Laura said after receiving her room cardlock. Mike just smiled.

Laura was about to walk away from Mike for fear that his boss might call again. His boss was not an angry man. He was very helpful and helpful to Laura. Laura stopped her steps.

"Mike, can I see you again ?" Ask Laura. Mike smiled again.

"I'm always on standby in front of Miss Laura," Mike replied jokingly to her as he bowed slightly to her. Laura smiled at me. He then walked away from Mike. Mike got out and went back to his guard table.

Mike leaned his body against the chair, leaned up, closed his eyes, re-imagined what had just happened.

There was no more pain in his heart. He has thrown everything. Laura must be happy and must no longer feel guilty for Mike. He's done the right thing.

"Lord, may Laura always be happy and no more serious problems come her way," Mike prayed to Laura.
