Mike PoV's
The day he was waiting for: to enroll in college. Her spirit is incredible.
Mike stepped excitedly through the campus gate - greeting some passersby and then walking straight to the new student admissions registration secretariat. Hopefully not many are queuing up in there because he has to rush home, his mind.
Today Mike's schedule is a day shift and he can't be late. If he is late, this will be the first time he is late for work.
Mike works as a security unit (satpam) at a famous hotel in the city. The salary he worked here was enough for him to fund his own lectures and also for sudden needs in the village.
Being a child is not easy. Add to that the father - the backbone of the family - has been gone for eternity and the mother he left alone in the village takes care of the broiler farm left by the late father.
But Mike was sure he could get through this. God cannot give trials beyond the limits of His servant's ability.
Mike must have walked up to the new student registration secretariat. He breathed a sigh of relief as soon as he entered - not many people were queuing there.
There were only six women and he was the only man waiting for his turn to register with five others.
"Hey. Would you like to register too ?" Someone greeted him as he sat down.
"Yes. Want to sign up, too" Mike replied as he made up his mind while slightly giving the person a smile.
"I Mega, "continued the woman beside him introduced herself while giving her hand to invite shaman.
"I'm Mike. But not the late Mike Mohede, the singer," Mike replied, jokingly as he shook the girl's hand.
Then they shut up for a moment. Mike pulled some files out of the bag. Check it back and then put the bag back on the chair next to it that is not occupied by people. Mike glanced at his watch. There's still plenty of time for him to get into work today.
"In a hurry, huh ?" Mega suddenly asked. Maybe he saw it when Mike glanced at his watch. He probably knew that Mike still had other needs after this.
"If you hurry, go first. I just then," Mega continued her words.
"Oh yes. Thank ye. I'm just relaxing. It's okay you go first. I'm not in a hurry" answered Mike to cover up his lie. But in his heart he wanted to go first.
Some people started to leave the room. Three people including Mike. He glanced at his watch again - this time more carefully so as not to be caught by Mega. There are still two and a half hours left. There is still enough time to get to work and it is not too late. Hopefully not stuck in traffic like this morning on the way here. If stuck in traffic, it is certain that he will be late because the distance of the campus to his workplace is quite far.
"I go first, yeah" Mega surprised him. Mega stood up and walked towards the registration table.
"Oh yes. Go ahead" Mike replied briefly.
In his mind he wondered. Go back to where Mega is. If he can, he hitchhikes with me, Mike's mind starts making things up. Wishing it would come true. Not bad, already have friends later if you have started college here. Especially seangatan. And hopefully, we enroll in the same major. His mind began to look forward.
When it was welcome to sit down, his eyes quickly glanced at the last name of enrolling with what major program. Mike smiled when reading Indonesian Language and Literature. "That's it. We were destined to be friends on this campus" she said.
Then Mike handed over all his files when asked. And without hesitation he mentioned Indonesian Language and Literature when he was asked.
One stage completed. In his heart Mike thanked God for everything he had gone through this morning.
Mike walked out to the gate. His motorcycle was parked next to the front stall of the campus. When we crossed over, a voice called.
"Maike."
He was looking for that voice. It turns out Mega - he ran a little closer to Mike.
"Hi, is it still here ?" Mike quickly asked as if he had been a long acquaintance.
"Yes. I'm going home too."
"You coming with me ?" Mike asked quickly. God heard his prayer. I hope Mega comes home with me.
"Can. But it's okay if I come with you ? I don't have a helmet. Your helmet is also just one."
" I hope it's okay. Let's just walk," said Mike quickly convinced Mega that he wanted to come with her.
Mike and Mega leave the campus. Mike drove him to his destination. Not much conversation during their trip. But at least Mega knows they chose the same course of study.

He broke his body after entering his room. He grabbed a cell phone and informed his parents about his registration. Then he put his phone back on the table.
"Why don't I dare to ask Mike for his phone number, yeah. Maybe Mike has time and can walk with me," muttered Mega regretfully, remembering Mike, the man he knew this morning on campus and had immediately taken him to the boarding house.
Mega smiled to herself. Maybe what he feels right now is the same feeling experienced by others when they first meet someone and the magic of that person is slammed right in the chest.
Mega tried to close his eyes but it was difficult for him to do. The shadow of the man still clung tightly to his memory. The simple, slightly timid, and kind-hearted figure of course who bravely defied the rules of driving traffic, allowed him to still come even if there was only one helmet.
Along the way there was nothing they talked about but behind the man, Mega's heart was racing. He fell in love with that man.
It didn't take long, but during his High School days, Mega was a cold girl. Not many of his friends. He always stays away when there are men who want to be close to him.
Later to meet again, it's okay if today there is no conversation along the way, Mega's mind again re-imagines the man's face and he smiles himself.
"You're going home, lying down and smiling yourself overshadowing her face when you realize you first fell in love at first sight"
