Chapter 146: The Death of Leo

While on her way to the old pier, Ana gets a call from Jane. The first call was ignored by Ana. No wonder Jane can find Ana's mobile number, it's easy for her to hire hackers to track Ana down.

However, Jane does not seem to give up, she repeats the call until the third time.

A: "What's wrong?" Answer Ana without further ado.

A: "Where are you?"

A: "On the road.."

A: "Wanna go home?"

A: "No.."

A: "Do you have an appointment?" Ask Jane curiously.

A: "Hmm.."

A: "With man or woman?"

A: "Why are you asking like that? Like a couple of lovers.."

A: "Someone wants to know about it." she replied ambiguously.

A: "What do you mean??" Confused ask.

A: "I'm having dinner with Louis." she explained.

A: "Oh.." said Ana as if she did not care.

A: "Ohh..?? You don't want to join here?" Jane sounded surprised by the response, she knew very well that Ana was also very fond of Louis.

A: "I'm busy." she answered briefly.

A: "you're okay, right??"

A: "of course.."

A: "alright then, come over here if you're free.."

A: "I don't promise.. I'm going home very late. "

A: ".." Jane was silent at Ana's remark, feeling that Ana was going to do something important.

A: "i close first. bye.." said Ana immediately ended the call after she did not hear any answer from Jane.

He was even convinced that Jane must have had a premonition for him. Ana walks through the cobblestone streets until she arrives at the promised old pier. But he found nothing there. He parked his car, he immediately tried to contact Leo, but the phone could not be reached. Ana begins to worry about getting her new gun out of the dashboard. He checked the firearm ammunition carefully. Several times Ana repeated to contact Leo, but Leo still could not be contacted.

Ana has a bad feeling about that. He checked his watch, he's been waiting for 20 minutes. Leo should have arrived there. But he was sure something had happened.

An agitated Ana tries to contact Neo, but Neo does not respond.

"What is this. Why can't everything be contacted??" Inner Ana was agitated.

He waited until 1.5 hours had passed. Increasingly convinced that something has happened, Ana soon leaves the dock. He quickly tightened his car. She plans to meet Jane to the address she sent by message shortly after they spoke to each other on the phone.

Upon arrival, he could see out the window if Jane and Louis were sitting on the 2nd floor near the window.

Ana gets out of her car, keeps her gun in her little bag that's always in the car. He checked his phone again, but there was no notification there.

He immediately entered the seafood restaurant, heading for the 2nd floor.

Louis who saw Ana's presence spontaneously waved his hand with a wide smile. Jane looked at the wave and smiled

"I told you, she must have come." Jane whispered to Louis.

"I don't think you're coming." exclaimed Jane pretending.

"My friend canceled her appointment." Ana immediately sat down next to Jane, while Louis had been sitting across from Jane.

"What do you want to eat??" Louis asked excitedly.

"I'm not having a taste.I just want to drink." Ana said limp.

"All right.." Louis seemed to call the waiter there who immediately came with a menu book.

"Bring me a bottle of wiskey." Ana's chimpanzee.

The confused-looking Louis just laughed a little. "I thought you'd order some wine.."

"No need. Just bring the wine.." Jane timps the waiter who appears to nod and goes to prepare their order.

"You even arranged what I wanted to drink." muttered Ana softly staring at Jane cynically.

"I'm just worried about your condition.."

"Sad.." Ana smiled her cynical smile.

"Hm.. Ana how are you??" Louis's question interrupted Ana and Jane's conversation because the atmosphere felt very stressful.

"Well.." nodded Ana indifferently.

"You sure you don't want to eat anything. The menus here are delicious.."

"No need." she replied briefly.

Seeing Louis' disappointed reaction, Jane immediately pointed her drink toward Louis.

Louis just nodded slowly and raised his glass to complain to their two glasses before they finally sank.

Soon Ana's wine order came. Just as the waiter was about to pour it into the glass, Ana immediately grabbed the bottle.

"Let me alone." he said softly pouring wine into his glass until it was fully filled.

And then downing the wine quickly. The waiter looked very surprised to see Ana's behavior. Jane motioned to the waiter to leave them immediately.

"You look very thirsty." murmured Louis softly at a loss for words.

"I'm very upset.I'm sorry to make you feel uncomfortable." said Ana Lirih.

"It's okay. Everyone must have a problem that makes them very upset.just make sure you're not alone when you're upset.. you should be able to control it a little bit." Louis advised cautiously.

Ana just looked at Louis with a sad look.

Drrt..

Ana heard the shakes of her phone from her bag, in a hurry to reach for the bag she had placed on the table, she dropped the bag on the floor and scattered it out, even the gun seemed to be sticking out.

Louis who saw it looked surprised, but he also looked pensive for a moment. He seemed to think of something. Ana swiftly grabbed all the contents of her bag, then immediately grabbed her phone.

"Hello.."

"Hello good night.. Do you know brother Leo??"

"Yes.he's my partner.." Ana replied feeling unwell.

"Can you come to the downtown police station right now?? Leo's brother was found dead in the old docks.."

"What??!! All right I'm there now." said Ana immediately packed her things and rushed off to ignore the departure of Louis and Jane.

Jane and Louis look at the outside window, Ana seems to run towards her car, even he immediately stuck the gas.

"Is he okay?? Even he drank a full glass of wine." asked Louis worriedly.

"I'll catch up with him. Then I say goodbye first. See you next time.." said Jane immediately got up from her seat.

He immediately pulled out his phone to contact someone.

Arriving at the police station, Ana immediately met the police who had contacted her.

"Thank you for coming Miss. I want to confirm something.."

"Please.." said Ana.

"What is your relationship with the victim?"

"Am I a witness?" Ask Ana back.

"We have to ask you some important questions before deciding on your status.."

Ana's stunned.

"I just got to know him, he's my co-worker's bodyguard.."

"Do you know or realize anything suspicious about the victim?"

"She suddenly texted me this morning, and said she wanted to see me and give me something.."

"Do you guys promise to meet tonight?"

"Yes. in the old docks.."

"Did you meet?"

"No. I've been waiting for him for almost 2 hours, but he didn't come. Then I went to see my grandmother and my friend.."

"Do you know what he wants to give you, until you meet at the old docks?"

"I don't know what he wants to give me or tell me. I just came there at his request.You can check my phone and my camera dashboard.."

"Well, we'll examine it and make it one of your alibi proofs.."

"Of course. So, what happened to her??"

"He died after a gunshot wound to his forehead, but all over his body there were also many bruises, but he was not registered at all as a citizen here, but he has a fake identity card.. So we can't reach his family." explained the cop

"He is from country C." replied Ana Iirih.

"Do you know about his family..?"

"I've heard about her little sister living in this country. I have her picture, but I don't know her name.."

Ana let out a heavy sigh with an annoyed expression.

"Alright.." nodded quickly.
