Kinanti and Darian's wedding party had just finished an hour ago. And as a gift from the hotel where they had their wedding, Kinanti and Darian were able to spend the wedding night in one of the president suites on the top floor of the hotel.
That night was the first time Kinanti had set foot inside the president suite of a hotel. A place that he usually could only order for the needs of his superiors, now he himself will occupy it tonight. In amazement Kinanti looked around the room which was probably larger than her house. The view of Jakarta at night is presented through a super-large glass window in the guest area.
"Why? Are you going to a place like this for the first time?" Darian asked mockingly.
Kinanti. He did not care about Darian's condescending tone. Only one day became the daughter-in-law of the Wijaya Family, Kinanti had felt the pleasure of living with the treasure. It felt like Kinanti would not want to leave this world and return to a difficult life.
Ting!
Kinanti's phone rang, he saw the incoming notification. A whatsapp message went into his phone. From Ranti, his team-mates were with Tristan first. Kinanti wondered what problem was there so Ranti contacted her? Because since they are not a team, Ranti very rarely contact Kinanti.
Commiserate.
Has passed away, our colleague/friend/best friend Tristan Desmon Adelio at 17:00 WIB. May the deceased be given the best place and the family left behind be given fortitude.
Like hearing lightning in broad daylight, Kinanti's heart slipped through the contents of the message. Tristanis? The Tristan he admired all this time? Which he always approached as long as he worked in Bara Kahuripan? Tristan is dead? Why did it all happen so suddenly? Then it would not be strange if throughout his wedding party, Kinanti did not find Tristan among the guests present. Though almost all employees of PT Bara Kahuripan attended there.
Kinanti's tears seeped from her eye patch. Kinanti refused to believe the news she received. Deftly Kinanti pressed Ranti's phone number. He should know more about this news.
"Hello, Nan?" Ask Ranti on the phone. His voice was as if he was crying. How not? Kinanti, Ranti, and Tristan used to be very familiar. Almost every day they were together. So the loss of Tristan also felt heavy for Ranti.
"Mas Tristan.." asked Kinanti unable to continue his words.
"Yes, Nan. This afternoon, Tristan is home." Reply Ranti lirih.
"But what pain, Ran?" Ask Kinanti in disbelief.
"Over the past month or so, Mas Tristan has been going back and forth to the hospital, Nan. At first, he complained because he was often dizzy. But it turns out that the results of the lab check showed that Mas Tristan had meningitis." Obviously Ranti.
"Disease? You mean cerebral hematitis? How's it possible?" Kinanti's birthday still can't believe it.
"I don't know, Nan." Reply Ranti slowly.
The memory of Kinanti goes back to a few weeks ago. Is the reason Tristan often does not come to the office is this? Because he has chronic pain and has to go back and forth to the hospital? Kinanti's heart felt very sick. The one he loved was struggling with his pain, but Kinanti was not even by his side.
Regret will come to every human being. But Kinanti did not want to regret his decision anymore. At least he wanted to be with Tristan at his last moment. Kinanti wanted to be there and join in sending Tristan to his final resting place.
"When is the funeral, Ran? I'm going there." Kinanti.
"Tomorrow morning at 8, Nan. You can come here now, I'll be at Mas Tristan's house until his funeral." Reply Ranti.
Kinanti hurried to change her clothes because she wanted to go to Tristan's house immediately. But a voice asked him. Darian Voice.
"Where are you going?" Darian asked as he exited the bathroom. He was puzzled to see his busy wife changing clothes instead of getting ready to take a shower.
"Mas Tristan is dead, sir. I'm going to his house now." Answer the Kinanti to Darian.
"Tristan? Who's Tristan?" Darian was confused.
"He's my old boss. I'm going to his house now, sir. I'm saying goodbye." Said Kinanti taking her bag to leave.
But Darian immediately pulled Kinanti's hand violently. His gaze seemed to disagree with Kinanti's actions.
"can't. You should be here tonight." Said Darian coldly.
"don't want. I'll go right now." Fierce Kinanti reply.
Darian pulled Kinanti firmly and threw her into the bed. One of his hands gripped both of Kinanti's hands and the other hand stroked Kinanti's cheeks. Darian smiled cunningly.
"If I forbid you, what can you do?" Ask Darian.
"I beg you, sir. I must attend Mas Tristan's funeral. Please allow me." Pinta Kinanti expectantly.
But Darian didn't bully her. His eyes stared at Kinanti viciously.
"You're married to me. So now you are mine. My properties. If I say you can't, it means you have to obey." Darian said with a dark laugh.
Kinanti. Fear arose seeing the figure of the Darian tyrant reappearing. Wry nose. Kinanti was only half the size of Darian's body and the man could have knocked him out in one hit if he didn't like to see Kinanti.
Kintai turned his face away. Her tears are flowing. His heart was wounded because he failed to be on Tristan's side one last time.
"Remove your tears, my wife. You can't cry for a man other than your husband." Said Darian while wiping Kinanti's tears.
"Tonight you must serve me like a wife." Said Darian while whispering in Kinanti's ear.
Darian roughly stripped Kinanti of her clothes. One by one. Without warning, he started his game. Kinanti groaned in pain. It really feels like hiss will be torn just like that. But Darian seemed unconcerned. His cruel smile expanded and his gaze could not be separated from Kinanti's moaning face feeling the sensation of pain and pleasure.
Kinanti felt like a doll being treated harshly by her husband. Her tears did not stop flowing. Kinanti. Angry at the circumstances that forced him to be like this. But he was also angry with himself because Kinanti being stuck in this position was the fruit of his own choice.
A big regret in his heart was not being able to see Tristan one last time. The man he had always admired for the past three years. What he dreamed of being his life partner. He had to leave it in his last bed. I don't know if Kinanti will forgive herself for all this.
...****************...
In the morning Kinanti woke up without a thread covering her body. It's only natural to remember how crazy Darian was last night exploring his body. The bottom of Kinanti was even still painful due to Darian's action. It never crossed his mind that his first night would be as rough as it was. Instead of feeling loved, Kinanti is like an item that has been purchased just for use.
He looked at the side of his bed. Kinanti was confused as she did not find Darian's figure on the side of her bed. Her eyes went around looking for her husband. But the corner of his eye caught a red wad of money on the nightstand. Kinanti took the money with a puzzled look.
"What is this for?" Mumbled Kinanti to himself.
"That's for you. For your service last night." Darian answered while walking from the balcony.
Kinanti clasped the money in annoyance. What's on Darian's mind? Does he think the price of a wife is the same as this wad of money? Is it true that in his eyes Kinanti is just a property? How cruel and heartless the man she called this husband was.
"I don't need this money." Said Kinanti returning the wad of money in its original place.
Darian laughed mockingly.
"You don't have to be hypocritical. The reason you want to marry me is because of money, right? Why are you rejecting him now? Want to pretend to be holy and be a real wife?" Ask Darian without feeling.
Kinanti's heart was wounded by that word. Is that how Darian looks at her? It was undeniable that the material was the main reason Kinanti accepted the offer to marry Darian. But that doesn't mean Darian can treat her like a night woman who gets paid after serving her beer. Kinanti is poor, but really she still has self-esteem.
"Take this your shopping money, my wife." Darian replied with a slight smile.
Kinanti got out of bed and picked up a cloth to cover her body. Without understanding Darian, he left the man and walked to the bathroom to wash his body. Darian laughed in disbelief at what he saw. A poor girl ignored the money she gave? It's unbelievable.
"Haha. You crazy woman."
