"Then I'll go home, Kalila." Said Darian while finishing his martin.

"Seriously? That's fast. It's ten o'clock, Darian." Complain Kalila while pretending to sulk.

"Sorry, I can't linger here Kalila." Darian said regretfully.

"Oh, your wife's waiting at home, huh?" Ask Kalila.

Darian laughing.

"No. I don't have a wife yet. It's just that I'm not good with the workers in my house having to open the midnight gate for me." Darian was lying.

"Really's? Woah Darian, you keep making me amazing with you." Kalila was surprised.

(Seriously? Wow Darian, you're impressing me even more).

"Ah, I'm used to not bother people, Kalila. Oh yeah, can I ask you something?" Ask Darian suddenly.

"Work what?" Reply Kalila.

"Can you just call me Ian? There's no particular reason, just so we can be more familiar." Darian.

"Okay, no problem, Ian." Kalila agreed.

"Then I say yes. I really need to go home." Darian said as he walked out of Kalila's apartment.

Kalila nodded and walked him to the door. The girl then hugged Darian tightly which made Darian a little surprised by Kalila's courage.

"Well we meet again, Ian." Kalila said casually.

Darian was a little misbehaved because of Kalila's actions just now. He opened his eyes several times and turned back to face Kalila.

"Yes, of course. I'll call you as soon as I get home, Kalila."

...****************...

Kalila laughed satisfied. He saw how Darian believed in his new mask. How Darian could not hide his admiration for Kalila whom he had only met twice.

"It's so easy to conquer you, Ian. As I remember, let alone love, look towards Kinanti even you are reluctant. But now you look like a very different person in front of Kalila." Kalila muttered as she stared at her reflection in the mirror.

How not? Darian's treatment of Kalila is very different from his treatment of Kinanti. To Kalila, Darian looked very much like the one who was trying to take Kalila's heart. Kalila was able to clearly see the falsehood he had created to lure Kalila. Darian was even willing to lie about his status for Kalila's sake.

"You said you didn't have a wife. Jesus, Darian! Then what is Hanna if not your wife?" Kalila said to herself.

Suddenly the door to Kalila's room was opened by someone. Niko came and went into her room. His smile was sumringah looking at Kalila.

"What's your first plan?" Ask Niko.

"Silence, Nik. Sure oes. I know everything about Darian. Conquering her is not difficult if I can look prettier than Hanna." Kalila said as she combed her hair.

"You need to be careful, Kalila. Darian's not that reckless. And Hanna probably wouldn't let you live if she knew you were approaching Darian." Advice to Kalila.

"Just calm down, Nik. I've been dead once. Any threat won't make me back down." Reply Kalila.

The girl then walked towards the edge of her bed. He sat next to Niko who had already sat there.

"By the way, where can you buy this luxury apartment?" Niko was curious.

"Luckily I'm smart enough to hide all this from Darian." Call Kalila again.

Niko looked at Kalila. The girl looked over because she felt someone was watching her. Their eyes are locked on each other. Whether because of the atmosphere that is getting nightly or because Niko who from the beginning had fallen in love with Kalila, Niko brought her face closer to the woman.

Kalila closed her eyes. He knows where he's going. In a split second, Niko's lips landed gently on Kalila's lips. Kiss her with affection. Kalila kissed him just as gently. He put his hand around Niko's neck. They both enjoyed their romantic kiss.

But suddenly the greatness of the past again touched Kalila's memory. He remembered how Darian had touched him. Touch her. Treat him like a lustful doll. And then betrayed him. Trapped him so cruelly. All those pieces of the past popped up simultaneously and made Kalila breathless. He hurriedly removed his lips from Niko.

"Why Kalila? Did I hurt you?" Niko asked confusedly.

Kalila shook her head which suddenly felt dizzy. He massaged his forehead hoping to ease his pain a little.

"Not that, Niko. I'm sorry, but I can't do it. Sorry." Kalila left Niko.

Niko was worried about the girl. He chased after Kalila and held her hand slowly. Kalila. Niko was surprised to see Kalila's red and teary eyes. Niko immediately grabbed Kalila in her arms. He feels guilty. He did not realize that the short kiss could evoke the millions of bad memories that Kalila tried to bury tightly.

"I'm sorry, Kalila. Really, I didn't mean to hurt you." Niko said regretfully. His hand stroked Kalila's head, hoping to calm the girl down.

Kalila was sobbing in Niko's arms. He thought his past had left him a long time ago. But Kalila never thought that one brief intimate moment would bring all those painful memories back. It even felt like the old wounds were back open and gaping.

Only Kalila's cries could be heard filling the apartment. A bitter cry that showed how much heartache he felt. How deep the wounds are cut. And how hard it was for Kalila to start a new life and avenge her.

...****************...

Darian opens the door to his house and finds his wife, Hanna, waiting for him in the living room. Hanna's face looked unhappy because Darian was coming home late.

"Where have you been, honey? Why did you just come home this late." Ask Hanna. His hands were folded in front of his chest as if waiting for an explanation.

"Coluble? It's only eleven Hanna, don't overdo it. I beg you." Darian ignored Hanna.

"Excessive? You usually come home no later than 9 p.m., honey. That's why I asked why you're late tonight?" Reply Hanna in a displeased tone.

"I'm busy today. I have to be in a meeting until late at night. Stop your scolding. I'm so tired now." Jerky Darian.

Darian immediately went up to his room and was followed by Hanna who followed him. Hanna wondered where her husband was going until he came home this late. But Hanna was afraid to ask Darian directly. She was afraid to hear the truth coming out of her husband's mouth.

Hey, Kalila. It's me, Darian. I wanted to let you know that I'm home. Thanks for the martin.

Darian smiled as he typed the message. He sent the message to Kalila. Shortly after, a reply message from Kalila came in.

Well, I guess you've forgotten me. Ian. Oh, of course, it's not a big banquet. You don't have to thank me for a martini. I'll come after you with something better next time.

Darian makin sumringah read the reply from Kalila. His mind had planned various scenarios to return to meet Kalila. He typed in a reply for Kalila again.

Seriously? Well, I'll be waiting for him, Kalila. Let me know as soon as the next banquet will be held.

Hanna was astonished to see her smiling husband playing with his phone. Bizarrely. Darian has never acted like this before.

"Who are you sending messages to?" Ask Hanna flat.

"Just my friend." Answer Darian briefly.

Even though Darian answered her like that, Hanna's mind remained unsettled. He was sure there was something Darian had hidden from him. And Hanna's gonna find out about it.
