Fugitive Woman

Fugitive Woman
Execution Day

During the last few months of her pregnancy, Kinanti has spent more time at her parents-in-law's house. It's nothing, Kinanti is only worried about her safety and her content. What if he was alone in such a big house and unfortunately Kinanti fell in the bathroom without anyone helping?

After all, since Kinanti was pregnant, Darian had never returned home at all. In the last four months, maybe only five times Kinanti met the father of the child in her stomach. And it was all in the morning that Darian was already in a hurry to go back to the office. Kinanti would only meet face to face with Darian for less than ten minutes and Darian would go again to his office. Sometimes even Kinanti forget that she still has a husband and her son still has a father.

"What is my sin to have such a husband?" Muttered Kinanti tired of seeing Darian's behavior.

A sin? Maybe Kinanti sinned because she had pawned herself to live a good life and have a lot of money. But until now, even Kinanti was confused. Was it so much her fault that her husband saw her as someone so inferior? Is being an affair like Hanna much better than marrying a man who doesn't love her?

"Ah never mind, there will be no end if I keep thinking about Darian. Why think of people who never think of us. Isn't that right, kid?" Said Kinanti while talking to her future son.

Kinanti walked down the stairs of her house slowly. His gestational age had only stepped on the fifth month but his stomach was already so big. Many thought Kinanti was pregnant with twins and of course her two in-laws agreed with all their heart. But according to Kinanti, maybe this is only because she was getting fat during pregnancy. Understandably, Kinanti's appetite has increased up to three times since the baby lives in her body.

Today Kinanti has promised to check the content with her two in-laws. Coincidentally today the two had all day free time so they volunteered to drop off Kinanti. Kinanti happily accepted the offer. Kinanti has always considered both of her parents like her own parents. And there's nothing better than going to the gynecologist with your own parents, right?

"Hello, Ma? Mama's gone from home?" Tanya Kinanti called her mother-in-law.

"Yet, Ti. I'm so sorry, it looks like Mama will be late and catch up with you in the hospital. Your father suddenly had a meeting in the office and your father asked Mama to wait for him. It's okay, Ti?" Her mother-in-law felt bad.

"It's okay, Mama. Just relax. Then Kinanti went to her doctor alone huh? It's okay, Ma?" Kinanti asked permission from her mother-in-law.

"It's okay, Ti. In fact, Mama should feel bad because she has already promised you. How about we meet at our restaurant for lunch together?" Tawar Mama Darian gives you another option.

"Yes, Ma. Kinanti. Then Kinanti said hang up the phone, Ma. I have to go to the hospital now." Kinanti said as she hung up after her mother-in-law returned her greeting.

Although Kinanti actually felt a little disappointed, but the rice had become porridge. There was nothing I could do to force things. Kinanti did not want to be an annoying daughter-in-law who was too demanding. After all, Kinanti has always been alone, right?

...****************...

Kinanti has completed her examination at the obstetrician. Thank goodness it is in a healthy and strong condition. Kinanti was already impatient to meet with her two in-laws. There was happy news that he had to convey to the future grandfather and grandmother.

During the examination, the results of the USG showed that Kinanti was actually pregnant with twins. Just like people's estimates. Although in fact Kinanti was very surprised because her first pregnancy immediately produced twins, but this information is very happy news. Especially for her two parents-in-law who had been waiting for a grandchild for a long time. Soon they will not only get one but two grandchildren at once!

Kinanti opened up the call history on her phone and tried to re-contact her mother-in-law. But the answer to the call is just a waiting tone and ends in the voice of the operator stating that the number he is calling is not active.

"Surprisingly, not usually Mama's mobile number is not active. Mama always picks up the phone." Kinanti muttered confusedly.

He tried calling her again. Once, twice, three times, up to five times. But the result remains the same. Kinanti thought maybe her mother-in-law's phone was dead and was on the way. Not a single hint of strange thoughts flashed through Kinanti's head. So she decided to wait patiently until her in-laws came to pick her up.

Two hours passed without any news from her two in-laws. The more time rolls around, the more unsettled is the feeling of Kinanti. He wondered what had happened to his parents-in-law and disappeared without any news like this. Only then would Kinanti call her mother-in-law once again, a call coming into her phone.

"Papa? Tumben.." muttered Kinanti when she saw the name of her father-in-law who made the call.

Kinanti answered the call. But strangely it wasn't Papa Darian's voice across the phone. Kinanti also did not know who the man who called her from her father-in-law's cell phone.

"Hello, Ma'am. Is it true that Ma'am is the daughter of the owner of this phone?"

"Ah, yes, sir. What's up, sir? Why is my Papa's phone in the Father?" Ask Kinanti wonder.

"The owner of this phone and his wife had an accident. Both were taken to the Family Foundation Hospital. Can you come here as soon as possible, Mommy?"

Jemari Kinanti immediately ordered an online taxi to take her to the hospital where her parents-in-law were treated. It didn't take long, a black SUV came and picked him up. Within 10 minutes Kinanti had arrived at the hospital referred by the caller.

Kinanti called her father-in-law's number again so she could talk to him. His eyes darted to the right and to the left looking for the figure of the caller.

"Hello, Sir? I've been in the hospital, now where is your position?" Kinanti asked the man holding her father-in-law's phone.

"Hello, Ma'am? I'm now in front of the operating room. I'm waiting for you, ma'am." Answer the man.

Kinanti quickly spurred her steps towards the operating room. His mind is getting more confused. How are the two parents-in-law in the condition until they have to be operated on emergency? Eventually, Kinanti meets the caller's man. A fifty-year-old man who had the look on his face also looked worried.

"Mast Kinanti?" Said the father while running small approaching Kinanti. His face was shocked to see Kinanti who was pregnant was large and seemed difficult to carry herself.

Kinanti panted and answered the question with a brief nod.

"Where are my fathers and mothers now, sir?" Ask Kinanti in panic.

"Both parents are now being operated on. He is very critical because the accident was very severe, Ma'am." Answer the Father.

"I mean Father? What a terrible accident, sir?" Kinanti said because she did not believe what she heard.

"I don't know exactly how because I'm just an eyewitness. But what I saw was Mbak's parents' car suddenly hit a road guardrail and flipped over, Ma'am." Obviously, the father was careful.

Questions ambushed Kinanti. How could this all happen? How could his car-in-law hit a road guardrail and flip over? Kinanti was sure her father-in-law could not possibly drive a car recklessly. It is also impossible that the car malfunctions because every car in the house of his in-laws is always well cared for. This accident left a big question mark on Kinanti's head. But for Kinanti now the most important thing is the safety of her two in-laws.

...****************...

The operation of Mama and Papa Darian lasted a very long time. It's been five hours since Kinanti sat outside the operating room waiting for the doctor to bring good news. His hands continued to rub his rounded stomach as if inviting his twin to pray. But the awaited figure did not appear. The old man who accompanied Kinanti earlier had even said to go home first because he could not linger.

While Darian, her bastard husband, went missing somewhere. Many times Kinanti tried to call her, but her phone was off.

"Where are you, Mas? Now Mama and Papa need you so much. I'll pick up the phone." Muttered Kinanti while repeatedly trying to contact Darian.

I don't know what Darian is doing right now. Maybe he was busy in his office. Or even now Darian may be having dinner with his girlfriend Hanna. What was clear was that Kinanti had absolutely no idea where the man was. Never mind picking up the phone, replying with a short message was not done Darian. Kinanti was completely alone. Drowning in fear and panic.

After ten hours had passed, finally the operation marker light was turned off. Kinanti immediately turned towards the door of the operating room. Waiting for a doctor or nurse who can tell him how his parents are.

A man who appeared to be in his forties came out of the room with a woman. Kinanti caught something unpleasant from the look on their faces. For some reason, Kinanti's worries suddenly erupted.

"How's my parents doing, Doc?" Ask the doctor.

But the man just bowed. Whatisthis? There's nothing, right? They should not have to put up a look of regret if indeed both parents survived, right?

"How, Doc?" Ask Kinanti again.

The man called the doctor sighed heavily. Slowly he spoke words that changed like a hard slap at Kinanti.

"I'm sorry, Mom. But we failed to save both of Mom's parents."
