"What?! Darian accident? Jesus, Sir! What happened to my girlfriend?"

Niko was surprised to see Kalila who suddenly cried so much when she received the call. He did not understand whose phone it was until Kalila showed such a big reaction.

"Good, Sir. I'll be there soon, sir. Thank you very much, sir." Kalila then turned off the phone.

As soon as the call was cut off, Kalila immediately wiped away her seeping tears. He then smiled triumphantly at Niko.

"Look at what I said, Nik. Our plan worked. The car driven by the two monsters had a great accident and both are in critical condition now. That's really good news, isn't it, Niko?" Kalila said with a happy laugh.

Niko looked at Kalila in disbelief. Is this the universal will that helps them? How could the plan they had put together go this smoothly?

"So what should we do now?" Ask Niko to know.

Without hesitation Kalila immediately answered Niko's question in one sentence.

Kalila, Bu Yati, and Niko arrive at the hospital where Darian and Hanna are undergoing surgery. In a hurry, the three ran down the hospital corridor and asked the nurse about the car accident victims who were rushed to the hospital.

"Oh, the victim of a car accident who just rushed here huh, Mom? The victims were named Mr. Darian Chatra Wijaya and Ms. Hanna Diandra. Is true?" Ask a nurse to make sure.

Kalila nodded. Tears filled his cheeks. His eyes were swollen and his sobs never stopped.

"Yes, right, Sister. Where's Darian treated, Sus? Can I see it now?" Reply Kalila with a worried tone.

"I'm sorry, Mom. For now both are undergoing surgery because of their very critical condition. But if you want to wait, you can wait for her outside the operating room, Mom." Obviously the sister was patient.

Kalila nodded. He turned his body and immediately ran anxiously towards the operating room. Niko and Bu Yati followed behind Kalila with similarly worried facial expressions. The three then sat down and waited for the operation to take place.

Half an hour they waited, two well-built men in police uniforms walking towards them. Kalila who met eyes with one of them immediately stiffened. Without realizing it, his body froze with fear.

"What's wrong?" Niko asked as she touched the nervous Kalila.

The woman regained her senses and turned towards Niko.

"There's a cop, Nik." Mumam Kalila slowly.

As if reading Kalila's worries, Niko immediately stood up and met the two policemen.

"I'm sorry, was the family father of the victim?" Ask one of the policemen named Yono to Niko.

Niko nodded.

"I'm not the victim's family directly, but I know the victim very well, sir. It could be said Darian was already like an adopted brother to me." Niko said reasoned.

The two policemen nodded. They then looked towards Kalila who seemed to turn her face away.

"Who were we talking to on the phone? As I recall there was a woman who picked up her phone." Said another police officer named Sony by probing.

Kalila was stunned to hear the police's words. Should he hide so that his new identity as Kalila is not suspected? Or is it better to act like an honorable woman instead of an escaped convict?

Kalila took a deep breath. He decided to choose the second answer. After all, Niko has repeatedly convinced Kalila that there will be no one who knows her past as Kinanti. Kalila was sure she could trust Niko for this.

"I, Sir. I got the call." Kalila replied while trying to stop her sobs.

"And you are?" Ask Sony to Kalila.

"I'm Kalila, sir. Kalila Jayanti." Reply Kalila.

"And what is your relationship with the victim?" This time, Mr. Yono asked.

Kalila. He hesitated to continue his answer. After being silent for a while, Kalila raised her head and looked solemnly at the two policemen.

"Actually I don't know how this will sound to you. Because my relationship with both victims can be said to be a little complicated, sir." Kalila said carefully.

Mr. Yono and Mr. Sony looked at each other. They then looked back at Kalila with a face full of question marks.

Kalila sighed softly.

"I'm Darian's lover, sir."

The two policemen looked at each other again.

"All right, Kalila's mother. For now we'll let Mom be here. But we beg you to cooperate if at any time we need Mom's testimony and help." Said Pak Yono full of authority.

Kalila nodded. The two policemen then left and walked away from them. As soon as the two figures disappeared behind the hospital door, Kalila immediately sat on the floor. His legs were limp due to the nervousness and anxiety that had enveloped him since seeing the figure in the brown uniform.

"What's wrong with you, Kalila?" Ask Niko worried.

Kalila shook her head weakly. He placed his hand in front of his heart that was pounding so hard. A single mistake could send him back to prison and his revenge plan falling apart.

"No, I'm fine, Niko. Don't worry about me." Imbuh Kalila.

Niko immediately squatted next to him. He held Kalila's hand tightly and stroked her slowly.

"You're afraid that the police will find out your true identity?" Niko said carefully.

Kalila nodded small.

"I'm so scared, Nik. My status is a fugitive. I'm a fugitive and a small mistake can get me back caught." Kalila answered nervously.

Niko held onto Kalila's chin slowly. He turned the woman's face to look her in both eyes. Niko looked at Kalila so seriously and convincingly.

"I've told you many times, Kalila. There's nothing you need to fear. I will always take care of you. You believe me, right?" Niko is serious.

Looking at those two eyes made Kalila again convinced. He felt safe again and gained the strength to stand up again.

"Thank you, Nik. I owe you a lot."

After the six-hour operation passed, the doctor finally came out of the operating room and asked Kalila to meet him. Kalila without hesitation immediately obeyed him and walked behind the doctor.

"Please sit down, Kalila's mother." Ask the doctor politely.

Kalla sat down without asking much. But his expression showed many question marks that he needed answers to.

"The operation of both victims went smoothly and both managed to get through the critical period." The doctor said calmly.

Kalila. His plan to kill the two men failed miserably. How could the two monsters still survive such a great car accident? Are they both really monsters and not humans?

"Mom seems so surprised because of the pleasure huh?" Add that doctor again.

Kalila nodded clumsily.

"But unfortunately there are two bad news that I have to tell you." The doctor said carefully.

Kalila looked at him not understanding.

"What's the bad news, Doc?" Ask Kalila.

The doctor then sighed softly.

"Patient Hanna suffered very severe facial damage and may be needed reconstruction of the face again so that his face can return to normal. And this process takes a long time, ma'am." Obviously the Doctor.

"Then the second bad news, Doc?" Kalila was curious.

"Because of the accident, Darian's patient suffered severe nerve damage in his lower body, Ms. Kalila." Said the doctor.

Kalila seemed to be able to catch what happened to Darian. But he needs reassurance from this doctor.

"I mean Doc?"

"Darian's patient will experience permanent paralysis."
