Episode 19's
Alfred's phone rings …
Alfred woke up to hear his cell phone ringing.
“Hallo Mom, what's up?”
“Alfred Mom and Dad are going to Singapore now. We were at the airport. Can you catch up?”
“Why so sudden, what's up?”
“There's a charity event, you'll catch up with Liz if you can.”
“Looks like I can't, Lily's dad will have eye surgery tomorrow. Reportedly the eye donor was from a charity event that Mother held one year ago.”
“Really? What's with Dad Lily's eyes?”
“The story is long, I will tell you if we meet.”
“Alright then. Take care of yourself there. See you again”.
“Iya Mom thank you, hope your journey Dad and Mom is fun.”
Jennifer hung up on me.
Alfred looked towards Lily who was asleep. Alfred stroked Lily's hair gently. Lily then woke up.
“You're up?”
“I just woke up because my mom called.”
“What's Alfred?”
“Nothing, are you going to go again to the hospital or not?”
“Now, tonight I have to go to work. I have to go to the hospital tomorrow morning. Just imagine it makes me so tired.”
“You don't have to go to work tonight, just rest.”
“You're so easy to talk like that, then how can I earn money if I don't go to work?”
“You will only have one day off, after all you have to take care of your health. I don't want you to be sick.”
“I'll call Frans for permission.”
“It is not good that you continue to refute your future husband.”
Alfred smiled sweetly teasing Lily then kissed her forehead.
Alfred got out of bed and headed to the bathroom.
“Can you prepare a towel for me, I want to take a shower.”
“Well I'll prepare a towel for you.”
Lily came out of her room to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Lily looked at the contents of the refrigerator but the food was gone.
Since there was no food, Lily only brewed coffee. Lily then walked into the back garden and sat there to enjoy her homemade coffee.
Not long after Alfred approached Lily who was sitting in the back garden.
“What are you doing here Lily?”
“You're done showering yes, I'm having coffee. Do you want me to make it too?”
“No need.”
Then Alfred sat down beside Lily and placed his hand on Lily's shoulder.
“Lily, what if I can't get rid of my beer habit? Are you gonna stay with me?
“You promised me you'd cut down on beer. Is it that hard?”
“That's Lily, but it looks like I can't.”
“I'll help you until you can completely stop drinking beer.”
“If you don't succeed how? Will you still stay with me?”
“If you love me, you will definitely stop drinking.”
“That's two different things Lily, my question is easy please answer.”
“I know you already like this right? What else is there to question?”
Alfred only fell silent at Lily's reply and removed his hand from Lily's shoulder. Alfred bowed his body and covered his face with both hands.
“To any day I will always be with you, as long as you never betray me. If I knew you were with another woman, I'd be completely gone from your life.”
“You don't know me very well Lily. You don't know how my life was before I met you.”
“I don't care about how your past is, everyone makes mistakes. So do I. I am also not a holy woman who has no sin.”
“You're a good woman, and I'm just a jerk who loves to drink beer. Like heaven and earth.”
“Alfred .. Never say that. Why are you really? Suddenly it became like this.”
“I just feel scared if you walk away from me. I really love you.”
In the middle of their conversation, Alfred's phone rang. Unknown number contacted Alfred.
“Hallo, who is this?” ask Alfred.
“Hallo, is this true with Alfred Hernandez?” ask the caller.
“Iya right, sorry with whom is this?”
“Include me Natasha Smith. I'm a personal assistant to Mr. Ryan Jones, owner of the Blue Pacific Hotel. Mr. Ryan Jones loves your design and would like to meet with you to discuss cooperation. Can we meet you?”
“Of course you can, when and where can we meet?”
“Tomorrow at 7 am at Blue Pacific Hotel. After this I will send you the full address.”
“Alright I'll come tomorrow. Please send us the address immediately.”
“Good Mr. Hernandez, thank you.”
Alfred hung up the phone and waited for the woman to send him a message.
“Who called you?”
“One of the clients, they liked the design which some time ago I sent. I'm invited to a meeting tomorrow.”
“Wah congratulations to Alfred. I'm so glad to hear it.”
Alfred's phone rang.. Alfred received a message from Natasha Smith. He sent me the address of the hotel where they would meet tomorrow.
“Lily, I'll meet them tomorrow morning. I may not be able to accompany you to the hospital. It's okay, right?”
“Of course, no problem. It's a business, let alone your new project. You should come and not be late.”
“Alright, thank you for understanding Lily.”
“Hopefully successful yes, I am so proud of you. You were great hehehe.”
“You haven't had a shower yet, have you? You'd better take a shower and we'll eat outside, I'm hungry.”
“You are hungry too. Sorry I don't cook for you. The groceries in my house are running out, I haven't had time to shop.”
“No problem we can go find food in restaurant.”
“Well I take a shower first, let's go inside.”
The two of them then entered the house. While Lily was bathing, Alfred turned on the television and watched a cartoon.
15 Minutes later Lily came out of the room and was ready to leave.
“Alfred, let's go now. I'm ready.”
“Alright, let's go. What do you want to eat?”
“Can't we eat sushi at a restaurant that we've been to?”
“May be allowed. Let's go, I'm so hungry.”
On the way to the sushi restaurant, Alfred kept smiling. His heart was happy to get a new project.
“You turned out to be quite smart too yes, being an architect is not easy.”
“Smart service you said? I am so smart. Smarter than you hehehe.”
“Keep you mocking me. Yes I know, I'm not smarter than you.”
“I'm just kidding, you don't get mad like that. Your beauty can be lost later.”
“What did you say? Can my beauty disappear? My beauty is from birth so it is impossible to lose hahaha.”
“Yes you're right. Lily is the only beautiful woman in this world.”
“Hahaha you're talking to a child.”
