Dusk At the End Please

Dusk At the End Please
I Thought We'd Be Together

A man was sitting alone in a park. Children who pass by around him play cheerfully do not then make him feel disturbed. His eyes only focused on a photo that adorns the screen.

He shifted the screen of the device that suddenly died because he was silent for too long, his focus was really just staring at the photo that was used as a wallpaper of his device. His lips returned a smile as someone greeted him with a smiling face each time he opened the screen.

The photo was one that he secretly took as they spent time enjoying the sunrise in Pangandaran. He remembered very well, that day he also got a message if someone he had been fighting for started giving him the green light.

Happy to burst into his chest at that time, he felt that it was not in vain to have patiently waited for him all this time. But that new happiness of corn-time must now be at stake with something that is difficult for him to avoid.

Yes, Ahsan finally had to make a choice. The condition of his sickly mother increasingly makes him worried because the case of the father who never had a solution makes him finally have to make a decision.

The expected decision will make the mother's condition improve again and the father is free and can move as usual but he must be willing to mortgage his happiness.

Almost three months since the case that befell the father, Ahsan decided to stay in Surabaya with his mother. Every day he tried to find a way to get his father free and the case was over. The mother who knows the case of her husband has not yet had a bright spot so keep thinking and start sickly.

Ahsan really did not have the heart to see it, he knew even though the intensity of their togetherness was very little but that was because the mother had to accompany her father who was always moving tasks.

Ahsan knew her mother was a great woman who never let her father fend for himself. He was always loyal to his father when serving anywhere. Being a member of the TNI is the dream of his father from a long time ago, they began dating since High School and his mother always supports whatever the decision of his father. She faithfully and dedicatedly dedicated her life to being a good wife to her husband.

Ahsan salute for that, then he could not bear to see his mother crying almost every night because it had to be away from his soulmate. Likewise, the father, the last Ahsan visited him in the detention house he saw the situation of the father was very worrying, in less than three months his body weight dropped dramatically making him look thinner.

Knowing that Ahsan's mother was increasingly unable to contain herself, she became even more saddened by what had happened to her beloved husband. Ahsan could not let this drag on, he was accompanied by a reliable lawyer and intervened directly to find evidence of his father's involvement with the case that had ensnared him.

From his investigation with the lawyer, Ahsan can draw conclusions if the father is just a victim he was framed, the fact that his father was not involved anything related to the case.

Ahsan was enlivened by lawyers to vigorously submit the evidence they found at the time of the trial. If you look at the evidence that is there it feels enough to free the father of the various allegations made against him. It should set his father free and restore his good name. But it turns out that his father was not yet completely free. He can be free but conditional. Ahsan was furious with the decision, but he couldn't do anything about it for now either.

Ahsan did not despair that he would never give up. The mother has always been the reason to continue to fight for justice for her father. His cousin Akhtar had offered several times to help him as well as Akhtar's father but Ahsan always refused subtly. During this time he has been helped by Akhtar, a great lawyer with a very expensive fee who is currently giving him is Akhtar's messenger.

Until one day a message offering help to really free the father went into his cave. At first he did not know who sent the message, with the utmost care he contacted the owner of the number for fear that only a prankster would take advantage of the situation.

"Assalamu'alaikum" Ahsan said as his call connected.

"Wa'alaikumsalam" someone replied.

"Sorry, who is this with? did you send a message to me?" ahsan asked politely, when he heard the voice of the person who received his phone he found out that the one who sent him the message was a man.

"I'm your father's friend, come home. I'm sending you the address now" the man replied.

After ending his conversation on the phone with a greeting. Ahsan immediately took his car keys and set off towards the address he received via whatsapp message.

Ahsan drove his car at a moderate speed, due to the heavy traffic that afternoon.

Thirty minutes later, Ahsan arrived at the courtyard of a luxurious-looking house. He found security guarding the house.

"Assalamu'alaikum" Ahsan said politely.

"Wa'alaikumsalam" the security replied.

"Can you help me, Mom?" ask again.

"I'm Ahsan, I got a call from someone and asked me to come to this address" Ahsan pointed out the address the person had sent.

"True Mas, this is his house. Mom, I confirm first into" security clearance, he went into the guard post and appeared to contact someone through a phone line attached to the wall of the guard post.

"Sorry Mas, Mas has been awaited by the Father and please come with me, I will drop off", after saving the phone back to the original place, he immediately went out and told Ahsan to come with him.

Ahsan nodded and followed the security of the house. Along the way to the main door of the house, Ahsan continued to circulate his gaze. He really had no idea who the owner of this house was and what it had to do with his father.

"Please!" exclaim security when it has arrived in front of the main door of the house that has been opened.

"Thank you" Ahsan said slightly nodding his head.

He entered the house slowly. His gaze was again circulated to all parts of the house he had just entered.

Degs....Ahsan was surprised when he saw the large family photo on the wall of the main room of the house. He knows someone who is there. A person who had reigned on the throne of his heart for many years, but the throne of his heart collapsed because of the selfishness of the woman he loved.

"How are you, son?" the baritone voice of a tall man was upright, breaking Ahsan's daydream. He turned to the source of the voice, and it turned out that his guess was correct. The one who sent him the message was Suraya's father, his former lover.

"Omm..." Ahsan unraveled her shock and tried to neutralize back her facial expression.

"Please sit down" Suraya's father invited Ahsan to sit down and now they were facing each other.

"Omm, how are you?" Ahsan opened their conversation.

"OK, you?" Suraya's father asked back with the same question, asking Ahsan.

"Thank God be good, Omm", Ahsan replied wistfully.

"How's your father doing?" ask Suraya's father directly at the core of their meeting.

"That's how Omm. Now Dad is home but still obliged to report and reporters still continue to come to the house asking the truth of the allegations directed at Dad" Ahsan replied honestly.

The state of his house lately has always been filled with journalists who come and go. He also sometimes became furious when there are journalists who are desperate to ask permission even half forced to interview the father.

Suraya's father was also bearded to hear Ahsan's story.

"Omm will help your father be completely free and clarify the news that is currently circulating to clear your father's good name"

Hearing Suraya's father's words Ahsan's eyes sparkled, he was very excited to hear it. This would be great news for both parents.

"Really, Omm?" Ahsan confirmed the truth of Suraya's father's words and was answered by a nod by him.

"Thank you Omm, thank you. Thank you for Omm's kindness, I don't know what to repay her with, but for sure Omm's kindness I will never forget for a lifetime" Ahsan said such a deep thank you, saying, she grabbed Suraya's father's hand and kissed him many times.

Suraya's father also commented on the smile of seeing Ahsan's response like that. He again told Ahsan to sit down at the original spot.

"Sit down" he said

"Well Omm, sorry I was too excited to hear it" Ahsan replied with a face filled with smiles.

"Omm understand, you'd be so happy to see your father free and your mother healthy. That's why Omm decided to help you solve your father's case"

"If your happiness is to see your parents happy, then Omm is the same. Omm will be very happy when he sees Omm's wife and children happy, because at this time they are the closest family to Omm"

Ahsan began to listen carefully to Suraya's father's conversation, he slightly relaxed the smile on his face because he saw Suraya's father speaking seriously.

"Omm will be happy when she sees Omm's beloved wife happy and Omm's wife's happiness is only one, which is to see our only daughter happy"

"If you said you didn't know what you could do to repay Omm's kindness, then now Omm will ask for it herself. Omm will soon help your father be completely free and restore his good name. But Omm asked you to marry Omm's daughter, Suraya"

Pausearrrrrr. The world seems to spin around the flashback of all the events that happened to his father since a few months ago. Everything flashed through Ahsan's mind like pieces of a puzzle that began to assemble his own brain.

From the sudden arrest of the father, unreasonable demands to the judgment that is considered less logical. Ahsan put it all together into a conclusion that his father only used someone to achieve his goal.

An hour passed, Ahsan came out of the house with slow steps towards his car. His face was inversely proportional to when he heard the good news about his father.

Ahsan drove his car slowly, his mind still drifting everywhere. He parked his car in a park that looked crowded by children playing. He got out of his car and walked towards an empty seat on the outskirts of the park.

Ahsan dropped his butt on the wooden chair in the garden. Grabbing the device in his pants pocket, he turned on his screen and stared at a photo that adorned the front screen of his device.

Ahsan dissolved in his daydream, his focus was only on the photo on his screen. A guard came to Ahsan and sang a song in front of him.

"Sorry, Mas.good afternoon. Alone, Myself?" greeting the busker, Ahsan did not answer his gaze was still focused on the screen of the device in his grasp.

"Izin ngamen yes, Mas.a special song I dedicate to Mas who is enjoying the twilight in solitude" said the busker.

"A song titled carefully on the road from Tulus special to Mas" the busker delivered his prologue which greeted the guitar passages as an intro to the song.

Travelling takes you

Meet me, I meet you

Like you I'm looking for

It's said I'm also just like you're looking for

I thought we were acid and salt

And we meet in the shackles

A story that doesn't seem so beautiful

I thought we were gonna be together

So much the same

Your background and my background

I thought there wouldn't be any obstacles

I thought this was easy

You're-I'm us

Your affection is impregnated

Redam is now a special incandescent

I don't know what the world means

About the end of the story, we're not together

May this miss disappear

It is said that the time of healing

Will there be others like you?

I thought we were gonna be together

So much the same

Your background and my background

I thought there wouldn't be any obstacles

I thought this was easy

You're-I'm us

You continue your journey

I continued my journey

Uh-uh, hu-uh-uh

I thought we were gonna be together

So much the same

Your background and my background

I thought there wouldn't be any obstacles

I thought this was easy

You're-I'm us

I thought we were gonna be together

Be careful on the road

The song performed by the busker shifted Ahsan's focus, he listened carefully to every lyric delivered by the busker. A message he type in his whatsapp application.

'I lost, pick Shanum!'

A message was sent to the person it was referring to.

"Shanum, I thought we would be together, but in fact our story is that we are not together" Ahsan muttered.
