Chapter.8 The Past

Sergio woke up with a breath of breath. The dream came back to haunt him and disturbed his sleep.

"Give me your responsibility!" The sentence uttered by William Alandro—his friend—in his dream was so vivid in his memory. Why William is always present in his dreams and holds him to account. Hasn't he done his job as a friend. He took Sabrina's responsibility by making her his son-in-law.

Trying to keep his best friend's daughter well even though he can not give full happiness to Sabrina.

Esme woke up and immediately turned on the room lights. "Are you okay?"

Sergio nodded, he tried to catch his breath as Esme gave him some water. After gulping down half of the glass, Sergio again broke down his body. He stared at the ceiling of the room, thinking about William's words.

"I think you need a soul expert to handle this. The quality of your sleep has diminished since you had nightmares. You don't even want to share with me about your dream." Esme looked at Sergio who was lying beside her.

"We've been together for a long time, I helped you run the company, I've also nurtured Fabian since childhood, do you still not believe me?" ask Esme.

Sergio glared at his wife. "Not everything I can share with you" Sergio replied.

Hearing Sergio's reply, made Esme who had been a little upset to be really upset. Not caring about Sergio who could not sleep, he just went back to lying down and tried to sleep. Sergio who could no longer close his eyes chose to get up and take his sleeping robe. He went to his study.

There, he took out a portrait from the desk drawer. There was a picture of her and William, the smiles of two best friends who promised to always look after each other beautifully painted on the lips of the two men. Her memories re-enacted memories of her and William before the accident.

Sergio came to William's office with anger clearly drawn on his face. Without permission, he broke through the door of William's study, even pushing William's secretary violently.

Sergio throws up photos of William meeting George, his business colleague. Sergio alleges that William and George were conspiring to bring down his business. Things only get worse when William gets angry at Sergio's baseless accusations, and begins to bring up the sad past of Sergio.

Sergio who from the beginning came with a burning anger, as if ignited by oil with every word William that was not pleasant to hear, until Sergio involuntarily shouted his threat to William.

After that incident, there was an unhealthy business competition between the two, they turned into enemies in an instant. They drop each other to be the strongest.

Until the gray morning arrived, Sergio trembled to see the accident experienced by his best friend. He was terrified to see William bleeding in his car.

In a panic he immediately called his men. "Hurry to clear things up, I don't want any news dragging on my family name!" tell the guy across the phone. Sure enough, in an instant all evidence of the accident was lost, no one mentioned Ramos in the accident that happened to William Alandro.

Since then her nightmare began, she has been haunted by guilt for William. Ten years have passed since the accident happened, the more days of guilt the more it torments him. Until he decided to find out the existence of the princess only wayang from his best friend. With the money and power he had, it was easy for Sergio Ramos to find Sabrina. In order to make amends, he takes Sabrina as his son-in-law.

However, after all that William has not yet released him. His best friend still often comes to haunt him through dreams. Could it all have to do with Sabrina's happiness?

Sergio stared at the photo in his hand. "I'm sorry" she said with deep guilt. Surat of regret and sadness he appeared when clear water unconsciously flowed from the corner of his eyes. He was really sorry about the incident, he also tried to make up for it.

All those bad memories made his head start to throb, feeling agonizing when his feelings were repressed by past events. Segio incised his temple to reduce the whack. He came out of his study to take a headache medication. Unexpectedly, if dawn had arrived when he came out of his study. Workers in his home have started to be busy doing their respective duties.

"Rosita," called Sergio when he saw the waiter struggling in the kitchen.

"Yes, sir," said Rosita quickly, then approached Sergio.

"Take me headache medicine and warm water" he told Rosita.

"Good, Sir." Rosita immediately carried out the task.

"What time does the boy come home?" ask Sergio before going up the stairs.

"Young Master didn't come home tonight, Master," replied Rosita instantly knowing who the Great Lord meant.

Sergio breathed. "I think I need to act immediately" he said in his heart.

At Fabian's apartment, the man rushes out of his sleep at the sight of the clock pointing to the number eleven. He remembered the appointment he made with potential investors. As fast as lightning he bathed, and tidied himself up. His steps are chased by ghosts when he came out of the luxury apartment building.

He gave all his driving skills to get to the meeting place on time, even if it was impossible. Because the meeting schedule is past two hours, but he still hopes to meet even briefly with the prospective investor.

Fabian ran to the lounge, which he had already ordered. His breathing panted as he reached the three people who were shaking hands. "I'm sorry" Fabian told the trio.

Sergio stared angrily at Fabian, as he almost lost a potential investor in their new project. "Include me, this is my son, his brother Lucas. He will be in charge of the project that we will work on together" Sergio tried to explain to the potential investor named Greek.

"He was late because he was reviewing the land we were going to build" he added by lying to cover up Fabian's mistakes.

Greek seemed to understand, while Fabian felt toyed with his father's words. Project person in charge, isn't that kind of the foreman?

"Well, it's a pleasure to work with your company, Mr. Ramos. Hopefully this is a good start to our cooperation." Greek says goodbye after.

"What did you mean?" fabian asked after Greek got away from them.

"I mean, you're no longer a GM at my company, but I'm demoting you to being a foreman on a new project" Sergio said.

"Dad, I don't like to joke at times like this" Fabian protested.

"I never joke with people who work for me!"

Fabian grinned furiously, especially seeing Lucas next to his father. "Give me a reason to accept it" Fabian said.

Sergio was about to answer, but the voice of Fabian's phone made him speechless.

Fabian quickly pulled the phone out of his suit, and raised the call.

"Hello," said Fabian.

"I'll call you later, honey. I was busy" Fabian interrupted before the person across the street answered his greetings.

Sergio who realized who was calling his son immediately left the place without saying goodbye. Lucas followed Sergio faithfully.

Fabian grew angry when his father and half-brother suddenly left him.
