Apparently Fabian couldn't let go of Sabrina. It had been two days since his wife's request. Fabian kept Sabrina in her room and kept her guard outside. His departure to Indonesia was forced to be postponed but he had contacted Jovan and asked for a longer leave due to his increasingly complicated personal affairs.
From that day on, Sabrina stopped eating. Every meal delivered by the waiter was never touched. His body is getting weaker. His face was pale and unkempt. This has been Sabrina's protest since the truth was revealed. He could not run, his phone was no longer with him. The phone line to the room was also cut off. Fabian was completely insane in keeping his wife.
"How's Rosita, does she want to eat?" fabian asked as Rosita was just in delivering food out with a tray.
"Sorry, Sir. Miss Sabrina still won't eat." Rosita shows Sabrina's lunch which is still intact and she takes it back to the kitchen. Rosita replaced the tray with a dinner with a favorite menu Sabrina hoping that the young lady was tempted and willing to eat.
Fabian exhaled a rough breath. Various ways he tried to persuade his wife but always ended in failure. Sabrina didn't seem to care about Fabian's every effort.
After Rosita stopped, it was Fabian's turn to come in. Sabrina's frail body was on the bed. It looked sad when Fabian approached him. "Eat, your body gets weaker if there is no intake coming in" said Fabian, who was sitting on the edge of the bed.
Sabrina kept her eyes closed, not responding even if she heard.
Long Fabian was silent looking at his pitifully looking wife. He weighed what Sabrina asked. Honestly, he was not willing and would not be able to let go of Sabrina. However, her little heart could not see the suffering of Sabrina who chose to torture herself rather than live with her husband. Not only was Sabrina sick, but Fabian too. The man bore the weight of the blame when he saw Sabrina's condition.
"Eat, once you're well you can get out of this house. I'll let you go." In the end Fabian decided to give up. Suppressing all his ego, and granting Sabrina's wish. His heart was torn as the words slid from his lips.
Slowly Sabrina opened her eyes. "You lied!"
Fabian shakes. "I promise, I won't deny what I said today on the condition that you get back to health. Now eat."
Fabian helps Sabrina to get up and sit leaning on the headboard. Patiently the man fed Sabrina.
______________
It took a week for Sabrina to fully recover. During that time, Fabian painstakingly and patiently took care of her. He thought this was the time when he took on the task of being a husband, taking care of his sick wife. Things he never did before, now he really enjoys it. Especially when Fabian had to remember if this was his last chance to do so before they actually parted ways.
A sense of happiness is always created when he can feed Sabrina, looking at the beautiful face of the woman. Even after, he must try to strengthen his heart with the separation he will face. Like this time, when he brought a glass of milk to Sabrina. It was customary for him to prepare milk before Sabrina went to sleep.
Fabian stood in front of the door. Take a long breath. Set the mimic of his face to look mediocre despite his raging feelings. His heart was fragile, not as fresh as it seemed. This was his last night with his wife. Tomorrow morning Sabrina will leave as promised, leaving home and her life.
"You should be Fabian, Sabrina is your happiness. And Sabrina's happiness is to leave you. You're strong" Fabian told himself.
He started with a glass of milk in his hand. Sabrina was standing next to the window with her arms crossed.
"What meda?" tanya Fabian approached.
Sabrina turned a glance then looked back out the window. Fabian held out a glass of milk in his hand and saw Sabrina gulp down the milk. The man took an empty glass from his wife and placed it on the table, then stood back to accompany Sabrina by the window.
"Sabrina," call Fabian.
The woman looked.
"Can I hold you?" What an irony for a husband.
Sabrina remained silent.
A few seconds passed and Sabrina was still silent. That Fabian means if his wife allows it. Fabian hugged his wife for a long time. I wish time would not move.
"I love you and will continue to love you. No matter how hard you forbid, you can't erase the love in my heart" Fabian said in Sabrina's ear.
"I'll let you go now but you won't be able to prevent me from fighting. I still want us to be together, whether that's when. I will wait and not give up on coming back with you even if it takes a lifetime" Fabian said.
Sabrina pushes Fabian's body. Not rude but enough to surprise Fabian.
"That means you're not willing to let me go?"
"I'm sincere, because it's your happiness."
"Why do you wait if I don't want to be with you anymore!"
"I never forced you back with me. You don't have to worry about that, let God do it."
Sabrina frowned. He honestly did not understand the meaning of Fabian's words.
"Sleep, tomorrow I'll take you to Uncle Andrew's house." Fabian led Sabrina to the bed. Like the previous nights, Fabian was always waiting for Sabrina to fall asleep when she moved to the sofa.
However, tonight felt hard for him to move on. He wanted to stay close to Sabrina. He gently caressed the head of the wife. Tracing the length of the woman's hair while continuing to chant prayers in her heart. Wishing a miracle. I hope God changes Sabrina's heart.
Sabrina herself had not fallen asleep. He who was turning his back to Fabian felt the man's sadness from his touch. Fabian who was once rude, Fabian who used to often hurt him through touch and words that pierced him as if he had died. A week in the man's care, Sabrina saw another figure from Fabian.
Not not knowing, Sabrina was just pretending to be blind. Fabian's eyes were so clear about the man's sadness every time they looked at each other. Sabrina just doesn't want to get hurt back. He was only fortifying himself with the pretenses he had built up. He's afraid. Very afraid if his heart becomes shaky.
"I love you" Fabian said without knowing if Sabrina heard him.
