Chapter 3. Memories of Nur

Mr. Firm. He was not the white-haired old man as imagined. He was only thirty-two years old. Married at a young age, at that time Mr. Teguh desperate to marry Ayu's mother named Nur without careful economic preparation before.

Nur a beautiful girl who is diligent. After completing junior secondary education, Nur with permission of his parents migrated to the city of Jakarta. The city of a thousand dreams. The city that met him with Teguh. The man who became her husband.

Both people are overseas, only capital reckless they have after dating for almost two years, they decided to get married. Restu came down so easily from Nur's parents back then. They don't look at possessions or think 'what do you have?' when Teguh asked permission to question Nur.

In their village, girls the age of Nur on average already have a baby. That was the main reason Nur's parents easily accepted Teguh's proposal for her daughter. They were afraid of Nur becoming a spinster. Actually many want to make Nur a companion to life but, Nur's choice fell on Teguh. The young man who took his heart from the first time the gaze of their eyes met.

In short Teguh and Nur lived the household biduk happily. They both live in a small house built on a patch of land that Teguh's parents gave to him and his wife.

No longer wandering, Teguh decided to work as a rickshawman in his village. Nur helps their family economy by selling packaged rice around the market area. Not having his own kiosk makes Nur often move around when selling.

"Mas, here's the coffee." Nur put a cup of coffee without sugar on the table. He asked Nur to sit next to him.

"Sir, you don't have to sell anymore." Stout Say.

"Why?"

"Your village has been seven months. If you continue to work like that, you will be tired. Moreover, back and forth from home to market... Let me just work."

Nur, despite her age of marriage is said to be a teenager, eighteen years old. But, his way of thinking was not childish. She can position herself well as a wife.

"And I went home and delivered mas. No need to worry mas, if staying at home even makes me confused mas. Mending sales, itung-itung can add to our savings for labor later. Aren't you?" That smile is so sincere.

"I'm sorry deck, I feel like I failed to become a priest for you. Letting you bone down in this condition, can't suffice you and our future son." Tears almost fell when Nur rubbed the back of his hand.

And the conversation ended with the sound of crickets breaking the silence of the night.

The day changed the month, it was time for Nur to give birth. His stomach hurts, so does his back. The pain is spreading. Making a grain of sweat appear on his forehead. Face paled.

Teguh who knows if his wife will give birth immediately prepares the baby's needs and some cloth and Nur's change of clothes that he put in the bag. Anxious, he threw his wife into a rickshaw towards the local midwife's house. Strong pedaling pedal rickshaw in the middle of the rain with a distance of many kilometers. For him it's okay, he just wants to get to the village midwife's house.

"Sir, you better take your wife to the hospital. High blood pressure during childbirth is very risky to disconnect the placenta from the uterus in an undue way. This can cause heavy bleeding during labor. And very dangerous. It can even cause the death of the mother and fetus. There's no adequate medical equipment here sir."

The explanation of the midwife makes Teguh limbung.

"I helped transport to the hospital, sir. Mr. Teguh continues to accompany his wife. Keep him calm, let his blood pressure not go up."

Once again a quick nod Teguh who answered the description of the midwife.

No need for surgery because upon arrival at the hospital, Nur has opened eight. What was expected was granted, Nur and his little daughter survived. At birth, the tiny baby was crying out loud as if to tell anyone in the delivery room that she was perfectly healthy.

After accompanying Nur in the delivery process, Teguh was called by the hospital administration to complete patient data and payment processes. Steadfastly made confusion here. The money he brought was less. Moreover, Nur also still had to be treated in the next few days to recover his condition. In such a predicament, Teguh can still be grateful that his son and wife survived.

"Sir.. I'll just go home for a while. Later mother same father let here nemani you." Firmly kissed Nur's forehead. Nur assented.

With various considerations, Teguh borrowed money to ma'am Saodah. The richest man in his village. Although Teguh also had to hear a series of rants first from Saodah before he received money from the boss.

"That poor thing don't get sick! Poor people are forbidden to get sick! Expensive medical costs, take good care of health! Have children not much. Turn yourself around later on. Newborn need money, gedein children need money! Ask for snacks, school fees, not to mention if you get sick later.. Hedeeeeeeh! It's five million! I'm afraid you won't be able to go back later!"

And there is still a long talk that Saodah ma'am gave Teguh. Teguh can only be silent down and thank after ma'am Saodah wants to lend him a loan. No matter the self-esteem or what his name continues to be debased, Saodah, for him can pay off the hospital costs and see his wife's child in good health Walafiat is something that he deserves to be grateful for.

Four days in the care, Nur and her tiny baby were finally allowed to go home. It feels like Teguh is really happy right now. Many times the man thanked Nur for returning home.

Two years have passed, Nur and Teguh become parents to their little daughter. Everything goes as it should. Firmly working, Nur at home takes care of her son named Diah Ayu and becomes a full housewife without the need to work again. Work harder to make her little family happy.

"Wood looks a lot like you deck.. Cute, funny, especially if you smile. So similar. I'm like your duplicate." Said Teguh while holding Ayu in his arms.

"May we be given a long life in order to raise Ayu to be a child of God-fearing Sholehah." A simple plea from a simple woman.

"Aamiin to Rabbal Al-Amin."

Nur was about to go to the kitchen but suddenly his vision blurred. A step later he almost fell. Fortunately, he could hold on to the pole there. Firmly seeing the irregularity in Nur rushed to come to his wife.

"Why deck? Let's sit down first.." Still holding Ayu in his hand, Teguh helped Nur walk slowly towards the seat near them.

Teguh took a glass of water, helping Nur to drink it. Applying eucalyptus oil on the nape and temples Nur. Teguh could see Nur's face looked deathly pale.

"What's sick? We're going to the puskesmas on deck." Get anxious.

"It's okay, it's just dizzy." His hands clutched hard at the end of his clothes.

Between what is said and felt is different. At this time Nur felt a great pain in his head and all his joints. His sight is still blurred. But to appease her husband, she said so.

Firmly sitting squatting in front of Nur after putting Ayu to sleep. The feeling is really bad. "I take you to the puskesmas aja yuk dek, you shoot really."

Nur shook his head slowly. The pain in his head gradually disappeared. "I'm nothing at all.." Repeat that sentence.
