"Come sir..!" Shouted Ayu excitedly calling his father. He told his father to hurry when he himself was still busy riwa-riwi in and out of the house.
Once again Ayu looked at the cracked mirror in the closet that had been given solation to keep each other attached to the sides.
This boy made sure that he was neat with a black hood, long clothes and a foot long skirt that he used to meet his mother. Ayu ran into the house for the umpteenth time taking pictures that she would show her mother later. He deftly placed the picture on the white plastic.
"You don't run around like Yu, if we fall instead we don't go to mother's place." Mr. Teguh tidied Ayu's slightly slanted veil, inserting the child's hair peeking out from under Ayu's black veil.
"Abis Ayu kangen sir's mother." Ayu smiled happily.
"That's plastic what else Yu? How much you carry plastic." Mr. Teguh a little protest when he knew his son was carrying some crackles in his hands.
"There is, sir. This is all for mom." Ayu clutches the picture she made at school yesterday the day after tomorrow.
"Udah? Hold on, don't fall down." His father's orders were given a steady nod in the back seat.
Not leaving by motorbike, only old ontel bicycles are the only means of transportation owned by Mr. Teguh, in addition to old rickshaws that are lying in the corner of the house. Ayu's little hand held on to her father's stomach. The picture that Ayu wanted to show her mother was tucked tightly between Ayu's chest and Teguh's back.
"Where are you going Guh?" So ask the people he accidentally met on the street. "To his mother Ayu's place," replied Mr. Teguh with a smile.
"Sir.." Call Ayu still with a tight grip on his father's stomach.
"Hmm, what's Yu?"
"Flame forgot mom's face sir. Does that mean Ayu's already a bad boy?" Ayu's question made Mr. Teguh remember the beautiful face of his wife. A line of smiles was created.
"Yes. Where there is such. You're funny,"
"But sir.. Malin Kundang forgot his mother. He's cursed to be a rock." Babe Ayu made Pak Teguh widen his smile.
"Malin Kundang was cursed to be a stone not because he forgot the face of his mother Yu. He was disobedient because he did not acknowledge his own mother. The mother who cared for and raised Malin was sad, angry, and disappointed when Malin who already had a lot of possessions did not admit his mother. Malin's mother then prayed that Malin be punished for his actions that hurt his mother Yu."
"Yes Ayu already knew that story in school sir. Kok Malin same mother yes sir, Ayu aja want to continue with the same mother.. He was bad with his mother. Sukurin's a rock on him!" Ayu is anxious to remember the story of Malin Kundang.
Continuing chattering did not feel they reached the public cemetery, the final resting place of Ayu's mother. Mr. Teguh renders his bicycle on a fence outside the tomb area. Walk with slow steps. Ayu was also like that but, Ayu chose to walk in front of her father. He knew and memorized where his mother's grave was.
"Assalamu'alaikum. Ma'am.. Sorry Ayu just came here to look at mom. Ayu's miss is not? Ayu kangen is very much the same mother. Ayu actually wants to come here every day, ma'am, but the father of work, no one anterin Ayu here." The first sentence that Ayu conveyed in front of his mother's grave. Ayu's small hands were not ordered to pluck the grass that grew around and above her mother's grave.
"Mom.. Yesterday at Ayu school there was the task of drawing the same as the teacher of the family theme. Ayu got the value of A ma'am, I want to see no pictures of Ayu? Just sec.. (Hand Ayu looks for the white plastic that was used to wrap the picture.) It's mom!"
"Oiya.. This Ayu also brought mother roses. Ayu plant it yourself, pot it in love Dinda. It was broken but, it can still be made by putting this rose. Good not mom? Mom likes? My father said he liked white roses but, in school, there were only red roses.. So Ayu plant the red one." Ayu opened a black plastic crackle that turned out to contain roses that had bloomed in the pot. Put the pot next to his mother's headstone.
"One more mom.. I have this for my mother." Ayu took another plastic in which there was a piece of paper decorated with used straws around her. It appears the paper was framed by a neatly lined straw forming a heart.
"Ju bacain ya ma'am.. Mr.. Ayu bacain yes sir.." Mr. Teguh nodded in response to Ayu's remark.
'Mother
Today is mother's day. My friends went to school with their mother. Me? I don't even need to ask for it, I'm sure you're always with me wherever I go.
Today is mother's day. Dinda makes a special cake for her mother I'm sure the cake is delicious, many strawberries that adorn the cake have Dinda. Seruni bought chocolates for her mother, even the most wayward Reza in class dared to sing songs in front of the class for her mother. Me? Said al-fatihah father had made the mother happy there.
Today is mother's day. I was sad to see my friends hugged their mother. I was sad, because I was the only one who was silent imagining the warmth of my mother's embrace. But, I'm sure that mother here will definitely hug me tightly.
Today is mother's day. And this is all I can give to my mother.. Mom, Ayu love mom. Mom's calm down there..'
Ayu sprinkled flowers on her mother's grave. Then Ayu closed her eyes and prayed. The prayer of a child in front of his mother's belly button, the prayer in silence makes anyone who sees it. Mr. Teguh could not hold back his tears that fell. But, he quickly wiped away the tears so as not to be seen by Ayu.
'Yu.. Forgive me for not being a mother figure to you. Lack of attention with you, forcing you strong and understand our current situation. When other children your age have not been running smoothly, circumstances force you to strongly run. When other children sleep soundly in their mother's arms, you must be willing to slumber just by clutching your worn-out bolsters. Forgive father Yu..'
'Grandpa.. It's been six years since your departure.. Do you know how hard I'm trying to survive without you? My world seemed to be buried with your departure from my side. But, no... You asked me to be strong, to live on and take care of our child. Although it's difficult, even within limitations, you believe I can. Deck.. Are you happy there? Ah stupid question.. I'm sorry deck, I know you must be happier there with your True Owner. Wait for me there, baby, until that time comes.. A time when you and I can get back together.. Forever.. I love you, Nur ku.'
After complacently complaining about anything in front of his mother's grave, Ayu invited his father home. Leave a small rose pot there.
"So you didn't talk to me, did you?" Ask Ayu in a position like before when they left earlier. Sitting hugging his father's stomach, riding a bicycle with a slow paddle.
"By the way, but you're not scared." Answer the Seguh sir.
"Mr miss mom?" Ask Ayu again.
"Kange. Why Yu?"
"I should have brought a gift for my mother. It's mom's day, sir." Ayu protest that felt her father had not brought anything for her mother.
"Father gave me the gift that Yu's mother needed the most." Bright sir Teguh always patiently face the babbling of his little daughter.
The two continued to chat in the middle of the journey, until they arrived home.
