A Wound

A Wound
Chapter 15's

After college, as planned, Ara and Arumi go to her father's restaurant. They were only two because Miya who returned home to her parents had four days not yet returned.

"Assalamualaikum, Dad!" ara said as she entered her father's room. Followed by Arumi who also did not forget to say hello when he entered the middle-aged man's room.

"Waalaikumsalam, dear."

Arumi pulled both corners of her lips when she found the man in the room.

"Hi, Chef! " sweets.

"Hi!" sahut Dion smiled at the girl who was currently smiling widely at him, then turned to greet Ara, before finally turning back to Hartono.

"I'm sorry, sir, then" said Dion to Hartono.

"Dion.." Hartono's call made Dion undo his intention to move from where he stands today.

"Yes, Sir?"

"Can't you get back at the feeling of the girl behind you?" said Hartono pointing at Arumi with the tail of his eyes.

"I mean father?"

"He forced me to tell you to accept his love. He said if you refuse, I'll have to cut your pay." Hartono spoke without caring about the feelings of the girl who was currently glaring sharply at him.

Dion turned to look at the girl in question. Seeing the girl scowl at him, made him laugh a little.

"If it's related to salary then I'll think about it" he joked, after turning back to Hartono. "Then I say goodbye, sir."

And after getting the nod from Hartono Dion completely moved out of place. The man paused his steps for a moment in front of Arumi, waving a smile as he ruffled the girl's hair, before finally completely moving out of the room.

Arumi did not take her eyes off the man who was currently occupying her heart, until the man disappeared from behind the door.

"The words do not take heart," said Hartono when he saw Arumi who kept smiling staring at Dion's departure.

"He just wants to please you because he's leaving soon" she added, as Arumi turned to look at him.

"I mean, Dad?" tanya Ara did not understand.

Hartono reached for a letter on his desk, staring at the letters, "he just handed in his resignation letter" he told the two girls.

Without responding to Hartono's words, Arumi quickly ran out of the room.

"The chef!" he called, approaching Dion who was about to open his car door.

"Arumy..." Dion frowned, "what's up?"

"Is Chef going?" ask Arumi.

Dion smiled slightly, "yes, that's it."

"But why? is it because of me? is Chef bothered by my whereabouts?" ask Arumi streak.

"No. I just want to find a new atmosphere" he argued.

"Where?"

"I don't know yet, I just put my request in some places."

Arumi smiled bitterly, feeling strange at the man's sudden resignation, "if you don't know where to go now? why not leave when you get a new place?"

"I just want to rest for a while while waiting for the call," he answered looking for an excuse.

Disappointment printed clearly on Arumi's face, he was very sure if the man's departure because he wanted to avoid him. Looks like his struggle to get the man's heart just got here.

"That's it. It's up to the Chef." Arumi tried to smile even though it was difficult, then moved to go back into the restaurant.

"Arumy..." Dion's call stops Arumi's footsteps, but does not make the girl turn to him.

Dion stepped his foot right in front of the girl. "Sorry for not being able to return your feelings, I already have a fiancee."

The deg!

Arumi gasped and stared fixedly at the eyes of the man before her. His chest felt tight as if a heavy burden had befallen him when he realized there were no lies there. To make his eyes glazed, but firmly he held back so that his tears did not fall.

His gaze then turned to Dion's ring finger, and it was true that a ring had coiled there. The man didn't lie. Since when the ring was there, why did he never notice it.

"I'm sorry for never saying it before, I hope you can forget how you feel about me" Dion said.

It was like Arumi was screaming all over her, shedding all the tears that she had been holding back.

"When I first met Chef I never planned to put my heart on Chef. Because I think Chef is a cool person, there will be no romance when having a lover like Chef. But this feeling presented itself, the more Chef ignored me, the greater this feeling was on Chef."

Arumi paused for a moment to catch her breath and wipe away the tears that had fallen without her permission.

"But I have never regretted this stupid feeling, I am happy to have felt it" he added, who was already indifferent to his tears that continued to fall.

Seeing the girl in front of him cry, making Dion feel guilty, he never thought it would make the girl hurt.

"I'm sorry, Arumi.you're a good girl, if only I hadn't__"

"No." Arumi wiped her tears with both hands, "Chef is not wrong, I was the one who was too hopeful." Arumi put on her smile, tried to look tough, "i was too happy with this feeling, until I forgot with one thing, that maybe this feeling would turn around to hurt me" he concluded, before finally leaving the man without saying goodbye first.

But this time he did not go back into the restaurant, but instead drove his car away from the restaurant.

Dion massaged his neck, feeling very guilty to Arumi. It felt like he was such a loser already so had the heart to hurt the girl's feelings.

***

Arumi drove his vehicle aimlessly. Right now he just wants to spill all his sadness, crying to his fullest without anyone seeing him.

All of Dion's words continued to ring in his ears, making him pay no attention to the path before him, and....

Caittt...

Arumi was startled and quickly stepped on the brake pedal when she realized someone was crossing right in front of her vehicle.

Fortunately, he did not hit that guy. Arumi immediately wiped her tears and got out of her car.

"I'm sorry. I didn't notice you." Arumi continued to apologize to the crosser.

"If you take the vehicle, be careful, Mba. Good thing I didn't get hit," said the crosser.

"Yes sorry.pardon me." he begged, then crouched down, dropping his head in the fold of his hand on his knee, spilling his tears there.

The crosser who saw Arumi crying was so saddened to feel astonished. Is his word so rude? Though only one sentence he said, and there were still many swear sentences that had been stuck in his throat, which he canceled out after seeing the sobs of the girl.

"Why are you crying? I don't mean to scold you, I've forgiven you anyway, I just want you to be careful while driving."

Seeing Arumi who continued to cry and did not care about his words, the crosser just shook his head and left Arumi.

Not far from where Arumi was at this time, it turned out that Dion had been watching him. He deliberately followed Arumi because he knew the mood of the girl was not good at this time, he was afraid something happened to the girl.

And sure enough, if only Arumi hit the guy then it was all his fault, because he was Arumi until that.

"Is that how much you like me? sorry to hurt you," Dion's mind was filled.

Dion stepped on his feet slowly, wanting to feel like he was approaching the girl and hugging her, hoping that it would calm her down.

But his intention was to break. He had managed to hold back his feelings since then, he had also managed to break the girl's heart. If he does that, he gives hope to the girl.

Arumi, who kept sobbing, stopped her crying when she heard the ringing of the phone that was in her sling bag.

Arumi quickly wiped away her tears that were still occasionally falling, clearing her throat for a moment before picking up a phone call that turned out to be from her best friend.

"Yes, Ara?"

"Where are you? I'm looking for you."

"I'm sorry I came home without telling you first, my mom suddenly the nelfon told me to go home, now I'm on my way," he told a lie.

"But you're okay, right? what about Chef Dion?"

"Oh yes, I'm fine. Chef Dion said he just wanted to find a new atmosphere, so he got out of the dad's restaurant and worked somewhere else.Maybe dad gave him a small salary, so he left." Arumi tried to laugh even though it sounded discordant.

"So yeah, actually I'm just worried about you, I think something happened to you. Well then, be careful with the vehicle, Assalamualaikum..."

"Yes for sure, Waalaikumsalam."

After ending his call Arumi went back into his car, kept silent for a moment, arranged his heart, before returning to drive home.
