A Wound

A Wound
Chapters 10

"Assalamualaikum,” said Ara greeting when entering his house.

“Waalaikumsalam!” sahut Bi Ratih's.

“Which father, Bi?” he asked Bi Ratih who walked up to him.

“Father again out, Neng, just now.”

“Kok out, instead of not feeling well again?” said Ara a little worried.

“Aunti told you, but he said it was better,” replied Bi Ratih.

“Daddy said where not to go?”

“No neng,” Bi Ratih replied regretfully, whereas usually he often asked where his employer was going. “But you've cooked for Neng Ara's dinner. Said Dad don't wait because it looks like he came home a bit late.”

“Oh, yes already, Bi, then Ara went up to the room first yes, Bi,” said Ara. And after getting the nod from her house assistant, Ara immediately went up to her room to clean up and rest.

After the Isya prayer, Ara intended to sleep faster because she felt very tired today. After Arumi failed to meet with Dion, they did not go home immediately and chose to take a walk first with the aim of entertaining Arumi's bad mood.

Ting!

Ting!

Ting!

Hearing the sound of a notification from his cellphone that continues to sound, with eyes closed Ara fumbles on the whereabouts of his phone that he stored on the nightstand.

After grabbing the phone, Ara lazily opened her eyes, peeking into her phone screen to see who had sent her the message.

And after seeing the name of the sender, Ara quickly sat herself down. The eyes that were originally very heavy for it to open now became brightly lit, there was no more drowsiness left.

Pak Bima's

“Assalamualaikum, Dara!”

“Have you slept?”

“From??”

Just now Ara wanted to type a reply from some of those messages, a message came back from the same number.

Pak Bima's

“Beautiful dreams, Dara”

Ara

“Waalaikumsalam, have not slept yet, Pak”

Pak Bima's

“From..”.

Ara

“Iya Sir?”

Pak Bima's

“I've met your father”

Ara

“Mr to home?”

Pak Bima's

“Iya I went to your house this morning, visited your father, all of you conveyed my plans yesterday. And it wasn't easy getting your father's permission. I'm too confident”

Ara

“Sorry..”

Pak Bima's

“Nothing to forgive. Anyway I agree with your father's reason, the courtship only paved the way for adultery”

Ara

Pak Bima's

“But we can still be friends right? And can I ask you something?”

Ara

“What Sir?”

Pak Bima's

“Can you keep your heart for me? I promise I will wait for you until you finish college, and hopefully we are paired”

Ara

“Iya Insya Allah Sir, I will do as you asked”

Pak Bima's

“Thanks Ara. Then rest”

Ara

“Iya Sir, I also rest, Assalamualaikum”

Pak Bima's

“Waalaikumsalam, Dara's beautiful dream"

Ara threw her body on her bed, again starting her daydream about how her love life will be tomorrow. Seeing Bima's seriousness to her, made her feelings even stronger on the man.

But along with that, he also felt increasingly afraid of his feelings, he was afraid to keep excessive expectations on the man, let alone dream to have it, because after all he was not perfect as a woman.

Ara had promised herself that she would never open her heart to a man. Because he was sure everything would only end in sadness, disappointment and perhaps regret. Because he was sure there would be no man who would accept it with his flaws.

But that was before he met Bima. And this time he hopes more on his lecturer, hopefully his feelings on the man will not be his regrets in the future.

The morning after Ara was getting ready to go to campus, Ara went down to the kitchen to look for her father's whereabouts, after she had entered the room of her beloved man, but she did not find him there.

“Daddy from anywhere last night?” tanyanya approached her father.

“Dad there was an important meeting with dad's friend. sorry not to accompany you dinner.”.

“Iya is fine, at least dad still accompany me breakfast,” he said smiling, then sitting himself in one of the dining table chairs.

“Ya let's fast breakfast,” said Hartono, come sit him.

For a while the dining table atmosphere was quiet, only the sound of the clinking of a spoon sounded, until Ara re-opened the chat.

“Mmm, Dad...” said Ara softly, feeling a little doubt about what she would say.

“About Bima?” Hartono tried to guess what his daughter would say. And a nod from her daughter made her smile. He could have guessed that his daughter also liked the man.

“Why?” ask Ara.

“If he is serious with you, he will wait for you until you finish your college.” Hartono looked at his daughter's sad face, “but I believe him, he promised to wait for you. So you don't have to think about it, you just focus on your lecture. If indeed you are a match, you will be together later even without dating first,” he added.

“Iya, Father.” Ara looked at her father who was smiling at her, “actually Ara was also still in doubt, her soft” forced her smile.

“About?” Hartono frowned, trying to guess what his daughter would say next.

“How about later Pak Bima know about___”

“Do not proceed... Spend your breakfast, after that dad take you to campus,” said Hartono cut, refocus on his food.

Ara simply nodded her head then went back to devouring her food. He knew his father never wanted to talk about his past, which he thought would only continue to be a wound for both.
