HAPPY READING 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Everyone started to sit down and we started to set up tents. Two large size tents we managed to set up facing a distance of about 5 meters. With a plan there will be a bonfire in the middle.
I checked my watch, time still showed at 4:30 oh it was still late afternoon I thought even though the atmosphere was a bit dark. It is not cloudy because it is summer, but the dense leaves of many pine trees block the sunlight to enter.
Mr. Ardi ordered us to collect firewood.
“do not walk too far children” he said.
Me, Bayu, and Davi are together and it looks like Bayu's feelings have been different since we arrived.
“I'm so excited, I didn't know the atmosphere would be cool like this deq” he said full of smiles.
Davi also smiled, “you must be sorry if you do not join Bay” said Davi while hugging the firewood that he had collected enough.
And it seems, the firewood we collected was already quite a lot. So we decided to go back to camp.
At the camp, the fire was almost burning. The wood collected by the other friends was already up first.
“you long time ago” reprimand Mr. Ardi while showing us where to put the wood we collected.
As my female friends began to sit around the wooden pile that was almost burning fire, and Bayu was tired of holding back her cough because the smoke was always pointing to her face, I sat alone with Anty in front of the tent.
“how to find the wood?” sapanya friendly.
“how what?” I'm kind of joking.
“feelingku is not tasty” he continued.
I got up from my seat and went to the pile of wood that never lit the fire while saying “nothing has gone wrong so far, but ..” My sentence was stuck and my steps stopped for a moment. “asal you stay alert” I said with a little smile while turning to face him.
Just a moment later I was sitting by that pile of wood, Davi had already managed to light his bonfire. The flames were high enough to warm us who were sitting around.
The classical music of a guitar picked up by the flickering of Bayu's fingers combined with the lively jolts of our applause and the melodious sound of some of my female friends make this evening really fun.
Dicky, my eyes focused on him for a moment. So active is he tonight, and my friends are different too, those who used to never chat with Dicky even scolded not, but tonight was a different night. They were like drunk people mingling with Dicky as if they were close friends. Laugh together, make jokes alternately, sing along.
I noticed again in a different angle, how the light emanated from Mia's eyes that saw Dicky was very happy to be playing with friends. I think there's love in Mia's sincere look. No regrets, I don't regret at all getting through tonight with my friends.
My watch has shown at 9 pm but our atmosphere is so frenetic and cheerful makes it no problem. At 11pm that night, my friends were exhausted. Even Mr. Ardi has been sleeping since earlier with ‘sleeping bad’ next to me. One by one they began to complain about their sleepiness. And at that moment we decided to end tonight.
Lying down for a moment without closing my eyes. Look at the ceiling of the tent and hear the squeals between pine branches. Just a moment later I closed my eyes, my memory of Anty's words breaking my sleep.
“don't sleep too soundly ya” said earlier before I got into my tent.
I was really surprised by the woman, now she's so convoluted, not as usual. In the old school days, she was indeed a woman who talked a lot but everything that was talked about was always important and not complicated. I don't know what he's hiding.
I took a cell phone from my bag, shit no signal. My two sims are the same, just for emergency calls. Long enough I was drifting in my daydream that night then unconsciously I slept in a comfortable enough sleep.
Just an hour I could sleep soundly after the noise outside the tent woke me up. I got out because no one was sleeping next to me. Outside everything was panicked and confused in the dark atmosphere. Only the rest of our campfire lit up around.
“ada what?” my many.
“Anty, Dina and Dicky.” said a friend of mine named Ary.
He could not finish his sentence so tense. He was a rather nimble boy scout, but his movements this time made me even more curious.
“ada what exactly?” ask me again with a rather loud tone.
“they're missing Deq!” Davi.
I feel like I stopped breathing for a moment.
I speak firmly “what do you mean by missing?”.
All quiet. My other female friends were crying, Mr. Ardi was confused and anxious.
“aku and Mamiq will be looking for them” Ary said as he picked up two flashlights from his backpack.
“no, no one goes!” I said.
But Ary doesn't mind me one bit. He and Haris went straight towards the last time Dina and Anty left.
I don't understand this situation. Why Ary and Haris are looking in that direction. And it turns out this is the story.
Last night, about 12:30. Dina complained about wanting to pee. So Anty and Hulfah accompanied him out. Hulfah wakes Dicky who sleeps outside near a campfire using ‘sleeping bad’ to accompany them. Dicky refused. He just pointed the direction so that the three of them arrived at a small river. “there safe” said Dicky calmed down and went back to sleep. Finally the three of them went in the direction indicated by Dicky.
Arriving there, Dina descended herself into the small river because winning was not too low and the moonlight could slightly penetrate the lushness of the place. A few minutes later Dina did not return. Anty and Hulfah yelled at her name several times but there was no answer. At that moment Anty and Hulfah went down to the river and there was no one there. Frantically they searched for Dina around the river while shouting her name. Feeling the need for help they both left the river and were about to return to the camp. And something was chasing them, rather they were running as if something was chasing them. And somehow only Hulfah returned and reached the camp whereas Anty did not. Then Hulfah went looking for Dicky. Dicky just came out from behind the bushes behind the tent of a man who said he had urinated. Hulfah wakes everyone up while Dicky goes to the river to find Anty and Dina. To date, the three of them have not returned.
So that's the chronology Hulfah tells us all. The story kept me quiet for a moment. I was struck by Bayu's hand which suddenly grasped my arm very tightly.
“i told you, we shouldn't be here!” he said slightly pressing my arm while whispering.
“wasn't you so excited?” I said reply.
He just kept quiet and swallowed his saliva.
“so now how sir?” tanya Shiva urges Mr. Ardi.
What kind of cowardly idea is that, I thought.
“is it wise for you to leave us here?” say Bayu to Mr. Ardi.
“more unwise if we face this on our own without the help of the crowd Bayu” said Mr. Ardi “and too risky if you tell one of you who went” he was a bit uneasy.
“so I go first, just wait here” said Mr. Ardi then immediately go bring the flashlight and jacket.
It's been one in ten minutes Haris and Ary didn't come back either. Everyone gets nervous. Davi suggested we all look for them. But I don't think that's the right thing to do. It was decided that we would continue to search for them.
There was a scream inside the tent of the woman that shocked me and the rest of my friends.
“itu Shaupa! Why her?” said Bayu who was so surprised that he immediately ran towards the tent.
“what's Shaupa? You why?” asked Bayu with a slightly high tone that showed how worried he was.
“patah” said Shaupa “my eyebrow pencil was broken” he continued while covering his face and bowing his head in great disappointment.
“oh lord.. Shaupa, you make me really surprised” Bayu said gently.
Suddenly Ika fainted, one of my female friends. Lina and Fitri took her inside the tent. They are accompanied by Shaupa, Mia and Dian to keep Ika inside the tent. While Shiva who was still in shock sat daydreaming in front of the rest of our bonfire. Tears on his cheeks. Hulfah approached and hugged Shiva near the rest of our campfire while stroking his head.
“wait here for a moment, I get you drinking water” said Hulfah gently to Shiva.
Me, Bayu and Davi came out of the tent with flashlights and equipment respectively. As soon as we were about to head towards the river where Dina had last disappeared, Hulfah stopped our steps.
“do you guys see Shiva?” tanyakanya.
“not” replied Bayu flatly.
Hulfah ran a little closer to the rest of our campfire.
“tadi him here!” he said a little worried.
The three of us approached. I looked around the place. And how surprised I was to see two lines on the ground. The line produced by the foot in the position in drag.
“ini trail” I said.
And all responded equally, very surprised.
The situation has changed greatly now. Our camp is no longer safe. I sent Hulfah back to the woman's tent and gave her a knife.
“hold this, never let go of whatever happens” I said as I told her to go inside the tent and protect the others. Mia suddenly came out of the tent wearing a jacket and holding a flashlight
“i'm with you!” he said “however! I'll stay!” he said again adding.
“well, no other options” replied Davi relented.
The four of us started moving. We followed the trail up to the grass that was a bit bare so that it disguised its tracks. From there the three of us just used instinct and some omens to look for Shiva.
It was far enough we walked, even my watch had shown at 2:20 and the forest was very dark. The light of the full moon was unable to penetrate it. Finally we found something strange in this forest. Some rope thread is loosely tied using a typical boy scout knot on a small tree branch. It could have been a trace for us and Davi was very confident.
“we are on the right path” he said excitedly.
“wait Dav” first I said while checking the rope closer.
I found something. There was a trace of friction on the rope, a kind of friction between the ropes that caused a slight tangle on the inside of the rope.
I immediately picked up the rope that Bayu had brought. I put the end of the rope on the rope tied to the twig of the rather large tree. I then rolled the rope in my hand a few times until it was strong enough. Davi and Bayu held the other end of the rope to hold my weight.
There was a plain lower than where we stood, shallow but very steep. That's what I'm trying to get down with that rope. It turns out that there is a hole that is not too big.
When I put my flashlight on the hole “ahhh” I shouted “pull!” I said very nervously.
Davi and Bayu immediately pulled me back upstairs.
“what's Deq?” tanya Bayu urged me.
My breath controlled my breath that could never be normal. I was in shock, unable to control myself quickly after what I saw inside the hole.
“Deq, let's say! What's up?” Davi's pressing me.
“Dina” sentenceskku stuck “ada Dina below” connect me.
They were both surprised, “really?” exclamation Bayu.
“mayat” I said again then restrained by my breath.
“say clearly Deq!” said Davi in a rather high tone at that time “you saw a corpse or Dina?” tanya Davi continued her sentence.
At that moment the atmosphere became quiet. Me, Bayu, and Davi fell silent, Mia began to cry. It seems like they're starting to understand what I see down there. Bayu was silent, even Davi dropped his body limp and sat down before me with a blank look. Mia was crying.
“ini my fault! It's my fault” she said on the sidelines of her crying.
I rise, I have regained control of myself. It crossed my mind the faces of my friends who disappeared. I've started to guess how this all happened. We got up and went back to the camp.
