In the car two people sitting in the back seat were silent without saying a word. They were surfing into their own world.
Sofiya looked at the street in the window glass without opening the conversation even though she was eager to ask for her cell phone which was now in Basofi's lap.
Basofi himself did the same. His eyes seemed to be looking at the street through the window but his mind was in the past few months.
He remembered that night when he drove Sofiyah home from work, the man he had called papi drove her to his car.
" Titip Sofiyah ya ko" said the slender-eyed man to her as he patted her on the shoulder. He answered a stale base and never had any prejudice.
After that every Basofi there for various reasons that he made he never met again with his future in-laws. Either he was in the garden or in the mosque but he never saw him again after that.
He sighed then looked at the girl sitting nearby. His hands fumbled something on his lap and he realized that Sofiyah's bag was still on him.
"Y....!!". Sofiya is now asleep because of the fatigue that afflicted her. He could not sleep well overnight because his tears kept falling when he remembered the actions of Basofi who kissed him forcefully.
"Yes....!". Basofi leaned in because he did not get a response from the girl he called.
He also put Sofiyah's bag on the girl's lap slowly because he saw her close her eyes.
But Sofiyah was shocked and immediately woke up to feel that something was touching her hand.
He saw that his bag was now in his lap.
"You okay?". Babas asked in a soft voice that was not as usual. Even Mikail who was sitting behind the wheel also realized that her strange boss was speaking in a soft but serious tone.
Sofiyah just shook her head while opening the bag and took her hape. He looks disappointed to find his phone dead because it ran out of battery.
He sighed. And the man who had been paying attention to it took the initiative to lend a hape to his mother's future favorite daughter-in-law.
"Wear this.!", said Basofi and again Sofiyah just shook her head.
"Take Mek power bank!" Basofi said attentively.
Mikail who was driving following the instructions google maps from her phone tried to take the power bank with one hand.
Basophi took it from Mikail's hand and gave it to Sophia.
The girl whose eyes were still puffy received it while saying thanks by just moving her lips without making a sound. He immediately connected the power bank cable with his phone.
He waited for his phone to fill up a bit and turned it on immediately.
Sofiyah frowned at seeing the call from her papa up to 10 times. The papi had never done anything like that before. He also tried to contact his papi number with curiosity and tried to guess.
The tut's voice was long ago but it wasn't picked up either. Then he tried again and the third time then he could hear the sound of his mother who sounded hoarse like crying.
"Mi.. mami... why?", she began to panic and her heart began to fret if something happened to her mother.
"Hurry home nik... awaited the same papi!"
"Mi.... Mami why? Tell me first mi....!". He hoped that nothing would happen to his family.
Basofi picked up Sofiyah's hape that was still in her ear.
"We're already on the road mi." Basofi said later.
"Titip Fia yes ko.....!"
Deg, inexplicably Basofi's heart felt anxious to hear the same words from two people who loved Sofiyah very much.
My mother is patient!" Basofi said he tried to calm his future father-in-law, who sounded like he was holding back tears. He also tried to convince himself to keep his own words.
After greeting each other, the phone was closed from across the street and Basofi returned Sofiyah's phone.
"A-what's up?", he asked stammering. His restless eyes looked at Basofi with question marks.
"You hungry? Let's have lunch first!". Basofi intends well on his future wife so that when he knows the reality later at least his stomach is filled so that he has the rest of his energy even though he has to grieve again.
Sofiya who heard it of course became annoyed. He felt something big was going on and the man responded so casually.
His eyes glared sharply at Basofi and the man he stared at became misbehaved. He swallowed his saliva and then tried to find a word to convey the sad news to the girl nearby.
"Yes.....".
"What's up?! Don't make Fia wonder?". Sofiya suppressed her words so that Basofi would immediately reveal the secret he knew.
"Fire....".
"But why ko? Don't be such a mess!!!" Sofiya seemed emotional with the attitude of Basofi who seemed to buy time.
Basofi did not continue his words as they had already arrived before the gates of the pesantren. There is a white flag with a green sign that indicates that there are people who died and people who pass by are expected to pray.
The crowd had gathered around the boarding school and the family's Sofiya residence. Keranda and umbrellas for the deceased were already in front of a small house located in the corner of the boarding area.
Sofiya turned to the car window and saw everything. As if in disbelief, he then turned to Basofi to confirm everything. He does not want something that comes to his mind that is real.
"But why ko ? Papi why?!!". She screamed and cried hoping nothing would happen to her papa.
Basofi who was silent actually confirmed that it really happened.
"Ko...papi is fine right?". He began to shake Basofi's arm to ask for answers.
"Sabar Ay's........ Papi was called God...". Basofi looked at Sofiyah's face anxiously.
"You lied you lied!!!!!! That's not true it's not true...!!!! Tell me that's not true!!!!" Sofiyah shouted while hitting Basofi's arm and shoulder.
"You are evil you are evil!!!! You're the meanest person I've ever known!!!" Sofi's shout made the people around him turn to his car Basofi.
Basofi just silently received a blow from the girl hoping that he could soon calm down and follow the funeral procession until it was finished.
Sofiyah's punch got slower and a few seconds later her body fell down. Basofi immediately embraced his little girl.
"Open Mek's door!", he shouted.
Mikail hurriedly opened the car door next to Sofiyah and the sight of the mourners immediately led to them.
Sofiya who fainted in her arms. Breaking through the mourners whose gaze followed his steps. They whispered to each other trying to guess who and what was really going on.
Even so, they gave way by moving regularly so that Basofi could freely enter the funeral home.
The mothers who were arranging flowers on the porch of the house panicked to see a well-dressed man they did not know holding Sofiyah daughter of Mr. Basuki and seemed to know the place well. Even more crowded cases are heard to make the atmosphere a little not conducive.
"Why Fiah ko?", The mother who saw her daughter in the carrying of her future daughter-in-law was also anxious. His sadness is now mixed with panic because his favorite daughter is now fainting.
"Bring it to Fiah's room!". The woman who gave birth to Sofiyah stood up from her seat limping and her mother Basofi who was already present there helped her stand up .
