You're Not the First

You're Not the First
test of life

When the exam is completed there are about two months to get a diploma. By giving a lot of reasons I was finally allowed to not go to school and attend various events that were prepared for the farewell event later.

I chose to work in a very crowded pastry shop in this city. There is no longer any desire to go to college because the cost must be expensive. Although there is a scholarship path but still it will require transportation costs, books etc. Especially considering my mediocre brain. I better use the money I get later to meet the needs of the family.

If only there was an option I would like to work while in school on a Saturday Sunday.

Our luck finally slowly began to come again.

Abah Fanani who has a printing business and has a boarding house invited us to stay at his place because he saw papi who was a regular donor there was getting a disaster.

I should be grateful for that too. Although we used to rarely pray but papi always did not forget to issue zakat except the last 3 months. Papi Seakan forgot and did not issue zakat at all during those three months.

Likewise with mami who do not do social activities for various reasons and without waiting for a long time before finally the papi business empire collapsed instantly.

Getting an offer from Abah Fanani Initially papi does not want because it feels bad fear will even be troublesome. But abah assures us that they are in need of energy to cook in pesantren and need energy in rice fields and abah gardens.

Abah, as we call it, told me if the printing business today is not reliable because of the times that make science scattered before the eyes in the hands without the need for a media book.

Now Abah has closed his printing and is pursuing agriculture and plantation. Abah wants to learn about how to market agricultural products and how to packaging them so that they can get to the hands of consumers still in a fresh state. Abah hopes that papi as a person who has been in the business world will help him to connect with papi friends who are engaged in that field.

Papi is finally willing to join abah on condition that he is allowed to go down to the rice field to work like others and papi will try to contact his friend.

The house we live in today is not bigger than our previous rented house but here the atmosphere is very thick with religious values.

While the other workers are usually cottage children who have graduated from school and want to serve pesantren first before they boyong and return to their respective homes. Just like us they are free to eat and will get a little pay for the pocket money.

And there are also some residents who participate in working with the intention of helping pesantren with pay in general people work.

During our stay at the boarding school I also began to learn to close the aurot, participate in teaching if my work happens to be a holiday and help cook for the needs of the entire family members of the cottage.

Mami is in charge of making menus for the children of the cottage and the workers are also for the family. Of course it's not difficult because our grandfather used to have a depot in the city square which has now been transferred into the hands of my father.

While the papi work to the rice fields and to the garden along with other workers. Here the environment is very conducive to make us feel at home and can really move on from the social status called rich.

My white-eyed, narrow-eyed Papi gets more attention. Their view is not a look of pity because a Chinese kok ngere but their view is even like a person who is amazed.

How can there be a Chinese who want to live hard and practice Islam properly. They do not know if previously papi converted to Islam because he wanted to marry a mother and it certainly got rejection from his extended family. Papi is removed from the family card.

At first papi and mami do prayer and fasting according to sharia but after the papi business is growing they rarely do prayer on the grounds there is no time because it is too busy.

I also became not so knowledgeable about the true teachings of Islam that made me go the wrong way and fall into free association.
