Wife Interlude

Wife Interlude
Chapter.31 Decision

"For the last time, Rin. I beg you," Anjas said again in a soft and desperate voice.

Rina was silent for a while, as if she was considering Anjas request, though then she nodded her head faintly.

Anjas smiled, he was about to take Rina's hand to walk into the dining room. But Rina avoided it again.

Anjas chuckled while scratching the back of his head which was not itchy. In fact, he became misbehaved because he always got a rejection from his wife. "Sorry."

Rina did not answer.

"Then you go first" said Anjas again.

Rina walked to the dining room first, which Anjas followed behind her.

Lina looked at the toast and the flap egg which looked a little charred, she also saw there was a glass of milk on the table.

"Please," Anjas said after pulling up a chair for Rina.

"Thank you," said Rina while sitting in front of Anjas who was still holding her seat.

"This is the pregnant milk you used to drink, yesterday I asked Heni to teach me how to make it." Anjas explained while sitting in front of Rina.

"Hehe, sorry yes, I can only make this," Anjas continued.

Lina stared one by one at the food in front of her, she then sighed softly, all these breakfast dishes really did not make her tasteful at all.

"Try drinking milk, is it right?" asked Anjas while giving the milk to Rina.

Lina took it, though then she put it again on the table. His eyes turned to look at Anjas.

"What exactly are you doing, Mom?" ask Rina.

If only all this Anjas had done before he lost his parents, it might have felt very different. But now that everything has changed, things are different. His belief in parting was so unanimous that it could not be shaken anymore.

Anjas is too late, the man can no longer take his heart for now.

"Can't you give me one more chance, Rin? Allow me to fix everything," Anjas said still trying to seduce her.

"Sorry, Mas. I can't do that anymore." Rina shook her head weakly.

"You can't be selfish, Rin. Anyway the boy needs a father figure, he needs me as his father." Anjas seduced, he tried to use the child as an excuse.

Lina smiled while shaking faintly. "You've never even acknowledged this boy, Mas!"

For a few seconds Anjas was silent, it seemed like the words of Rina had surprised him.

"I'm sorry, Rina. I admit that it was my fault. But, I promise I won't repeat it again, from now on I will definitely consider him as my son," said Anjas, still trying to seduce Rina.

Rina smiled wryly, even from the words chosen by Anjas, it has been seen that until now the man had not believed that the child he was carrying was his biological child.

"Sorry, Mas. But, I can only forgive you if you want to divorce me, Mas," replied Rina with a calm face.

"Thank you for giving me so many life lessons. Thank you also because, my mother, I intend to change for my son and me. But, my decision is already unanimous, my dear. For now, I just want a farewell, nothing less and nothing more. After that, let us be happy in our own way, I will not interfere with your life, nor will I wish you to me."

After saying that, Rina took the glass of milk that she had stored, then drank it to the toilet. He wiped the remaining milk stuck to his upper lip using a tissue before continuing his words.

"The milk you made is very good, Mas. Thank you for making it for my son," said Rina, then chose to pass away leaving Anjas sitting pensively alone.

.

Rina, Anjas, Heni's parents, Heni, and two other people who are village elders, are now gathered in the middle room of Rina's house. That tense and slightly awkward atmosphere made everyone seem to choose silence.

"I am here, wanting to return my wife, Rina, to you, as the guardian of Rina. Forgive me for all my mistakes during this time as Rina's husband, and forgive me for it turns out that our soul mate only lasted until here," said Anjas opened the conversation on his intention to be there.

Lina seemed to be squeezing her fingers, holding back the uneasiness that she could not hide. This big decision he could finally get even though he had to with a long debate with Anjas.

"I as the guardian of Rina received back my son. Forgive us also if there is a deliberate or unintentional mistake, especially Rina. We hope that even though your relationship as husband and wife has ended, the relationship between us should not be interrupted" replied Mr. Heni politely.

Everyone there seemed to listen to the words spoken by Anjas and Mr. Heni, especially Rina who seemed to keep her head down since then.

Anjas seemed to breathe out softly before turning to look at Rina who was in front of him.

"Well, Rina hereby I am Anjas Gunawan, dropping talaq over my wife named Erina Dewilas, consciously and of her own accord. We've decided this divorce as a way out of our household problems." Anjas firmly pledged the word talaq to Rina.

Rina clenched her hands tightly when the talaq pledge sounded, it still felt painful even though it was her own request to Anjas. Until finally one drop of tears fell along with the end of the pledge.

It was not an easy matter for Rina to decide to part with Anjas. It took him thinking long enough to summarize all of Anjas's treatment during this time, and predict what will happen in the future before he makes a decision.

As an ordinary woman who was pregnant, it was difficult for Lina to accept her status as a widow. In his heart there is still fear if later his son grows up without the affection of a father. Both of his parents are no longer in this world.

.

Moments later Rina is seen driving Anjas outside, they stop next to Anjas' car.

"Thank you" said Rina Lirih.

Anjas smiled, he then stood in line in front of Rina who had now changed status to his ex-wife.

"This is how I made up for all my mistakes with you, Rin. Hopefully after this you can forgive all my mistakes" Anjas replied.

"I also hope that our relationship can still be good, even though it is no longer as husband and wife. At least we can relate as friends" Anjas continued.

Rina nodded. "Hopefully yes, Mommy."

"Alright, then I say goodbye. Take good care of yourself" Anjas said.

Rina nodded back. "May you also be happy with Dance, Mas."

Anjas nodded with a smile, now that all his hopes had been realized, his marriage with Rina was completely over. However, for some reason his heart did not feel happy at all, instead he felt that something was missing.

"I hope we can meet again someday."

Last night Anjas did not sleep at all, he kept thinking about Rina's request for separation. It was quite difficult for her to decide to let go of the pregnant woman, although Anjas finally decided to obey Rina's will.

In fact, Anjas' guilt for holding Rina at home the other day, making Rina almost unable to see the bodies of her parents, continues to make her unsettled.

"Ohiya, this is your card, Mas," said Rina held out a card that Anjas had once given through Hilman.

"This you just hold, this card is indeed I made for you," said Anjas refused.

"But, Mas-"

"You just hold it, I will still send money to you until you give birth" said Anjas staunchly.

"That's it, I say goodbye first" said Anjas, he extended his hand in front of Rina.

Rina kisses Anjas' hand one last time, which is greeted with a kiss on the forehead. Like a habit, the ritual is never missed as a sign of separation.

"Thank you," Anjas said with a faint smile.

"Goodbye, Mommy." Rina nodded then took her legs back a few steps, so that Anjas could open her car door.

"Assalamualaikum," Anjas said before getting into the car.

"Waalaikumsalam," replied Rina lirih.

Rina stared at Anjas car which slowly started to drive away from the view, until it finally disappeared. One drop of tears rolled back beautifully on her cheek, feeling pain in her heart, remembering everything that had happened.

Goodbye, Mom, and thank you for leaving this kid for me. The boy who has kept me alive until now.

Heni who had been watching Rina walk over, hugged her best friend's body.

"Yuk," he intended to invite back into the house.

Lina nodded, then walked alone with Heni back inside the house.
