Wife Interlude
Chapter.28 The departure of parents

Anjas and Rina arrived at the village after the sky began to turn orange, along the road around the house of Mother and Father, it looks very many people gathered, there are even police officers who stand guard.

Anjas Tepaksa stopped his car when the distance to Rina's house was still five hundred meters, because it was blocked by the number of vehicles of the mourners who blocked the road.

Heni seemed to run towards Anjas car, then help Anjas to beat Rina who already looked limp, they walked through the crowd to get home.

The condolences that continued to flow along with getting closer to Rina's steps towards the house. Stoic and patient words continue to be heard even though it does not heal the wounds that have been gaping due to loss.

"Crying can. But do not let your tears touch the body of your parents, Rin, pity them," one of the village elders gave advice when Rina was about to enter the house.

It only sounded faint to Lina, even so she nodded, with a gaze pointed inside the house.

Rina's cry broke when she saw two bodies that were now neat, wrapped by a shroud, in the middle of her house. Rina's slumped body she rested beside the bodies of her parents.

"Father, Mother, I'm sorryin Rina," she cried out with increasingly more tears, the pain now radiates across the chest, until it feels difficult to breathe.

Anjas and Heni sat behind Lina with their heads lowered, the two of them also couldn't hold back their tears, looking at Rina's sadness.

"Sorry, it was Rina who was late to come ... sorry," repeated Rina again, in a soft and heart-wrenching voice, between sobs that still sounded heartbreaking.

Anjas approached Rina, he hugged her frail body, trying to give her strength, though perhaps it would not erase the sadness that Rina now felt.

After about fifteen minutes of being there, a village elder came to him, asking for permission to continue the funeral procession, remembering that the sky would soon turn dark.

Rina rubbed her tears which were still continuously dripping, she looked up to see the face of the village elder, then slowly nodded her head.

The bodies of both of Rina's parents were taken to be holed up in a nearby mosque, before being buried in a public cemetery about ten minutes by foot.

"Are you sure you'd be strong if you went to the funeral?" asked Heni who had been loyal to accompany Rina, now both are still at home, while Anjas and the others have gone to the mosque to solicit janzah.

"I'm sure, Hen. I want to take Father and Mother to her final resting place" replied Rina.

"Alright, then you better ride the bike with me, we will accompany him behind," said Heni, who saw that Rina's body was very weak.

Lina nodded, her legs feeling so limp now, she couldn't possibly afford to walk that far.

"If I take the bike first, you wait here, yes," said Heni, before finally leaving Rina to take the bike.

"You're a child, parents die come last, pity your parents, have a child like you."

One of the relatives from the Father's side immediately faced Rina without feeling any pity at all for the sadness that Rina was now feeling.

Rina looked at the middle-aged woman who was now sitting next to her, it was the older brother of the Father, he was always jealous of the Father because of the efforts of the Father who advanced in the field of agriculture, to expand the legacy fields of their parents.

Rina did not respond, she chose silence as if she had not heard the ravings of the middle-aged woman.

Now comes another middle-aged woman, it is a cousin sister of her mother who often borrowed money for capital, however, it is, his efforts always failed and eventually Mother and Father no longer want to borrow money, because it was never paid.

Heni came in time, he helped Lina to wake up. Rina looked at the two middle-aged people as she stood up.

"Don't be pretentious to care about my mother and father, I know more about what you really think now," said Rina before passing by using Heni's motorbike.

"Heh, you child do not know manners, you know how even ngeyel." The middle-aged woman's footprint stared at Rina's departure in annoyance.

The funeral took place with a beautiful twilight glow. The atmosphere of the tomb that afternoon was very crowded by the people who delivered the departure of both of Rina's parents.

Mother and Father are famous for being friendly and knowing many people, until now many also delivered his departure.

Rina sprinkled flowers on two mounds of land that looked close together, tears were dripping back along with prayers that were said in the heart for both parents.

The funeral procession was completed, one by one the people left the burial area, until now the remaining lives of Rina, Anjas, and Heni.

There were no words spoken from those dry-looking lips, Rina simply continued to be silent with tears rushing down. This incident was the most painful blow that Rina received. The departure of both parents leaves thousands of wounds in the hainya, which will somehow be healed.

"Let's go home, Rin, it's getting dark" said Ajas, who tried to embrace his wife.

However, Rina continued to brush off Anjas' hand, her disappointment in the husband now she can no longer forgive. Her heart ached when she recalled it back when Anjas kept her at home, instead of sending her home as soon as possible.

If only this morning Anjas wanted to deliver it, maybe at least Rina would be able to take care of the bodies of her parents first, before being buried.

There will be plenty of time to say goodbye for the last time, though it may only be spoken in the heart.

Anjas gives up, he now looks at Heni, asking for help in persuading Rina to come home soon. Anjas is worried about the health of his wife who hasn't even eaten since last afternoon.

"Rin, don't be like this, pity you and Mom, they'll be sad to see you like this." Heni approached then hugged Rina's body.

"Why would they leave me here alone? Now I'm alone, Hen," muttered Rina softly, leaning her head against Heni's shoulder, she returned the embrace of her best friend.

"You're not alone, Rina. There's your husband and there's me too, we'll never leave you, Rin," Heni said, glancing at Anjas.

Rina was silent, what kind of husband? Anjas had even left him a long time ago. Heni must have also returned to her husband, who was outside the island.

Then, on whom else now he had to find a backup after the departure of his parents? Everything seemed dark, with no single name coming to mind, Lina's mind was deadlocked.

While Anjas seemed to be jolted by Heni's words, inwardly he felt regret for all the mistakes he had made for Lina. He was so selfish and only thought about his own feelings, without being able to see the feelings of Rina who was always trying to survive in their household.
