Chapter 3. Meet

Hilman escorted Rina to the hotel ordered by Anjas to the front of the room entrance. The two of them seemed to stand in line after Hilman handed the room door key to Rina.

"Have you eaten?" himan asked, looking at Rina's pitiful-looking face, it seemed like Hilman could guess that Rina must have not eaten since lunch.

However, it seemed like Lina did not hear anything that others said, she was just busy with her own thoughts.

"Thank you." Rina simply walked into the room, unwilling to answer the question of the man she had only known a moment ago.

"I–iya," replied Hilman, looking doubtful.

Hilman scratched the back of his head puzzled at the cold-looking attitude of Lina. He then turned around hesitatingly as the door of the hotel room was already sealed shut.

Rina laid down her already extremely weak body on the bed, her cries breaking again as she recalled the fate that was befalling her at the moment.

Somehow his fate in a household is so sad, after trying to live and accept a forced marriage with Anjas, now after he had loved Anjas fully the bitter reality came back to say hello.

Lina wanted to blame him for wanting to yell cursing. However, he himself was confused who to blame. Should I blame Anjas for remarrying? Or blame fate as if it were not in favor of his happiness?

His memory returns when he first met Anjas. At that time Rina was shading in a hut, because of the heavy rain that suddenly fell while she was on her way home from the garden.

Suddenly an unknown man came along with him, pushing the bike.

"I'm shading, shall I?" ask the man who is none other than Anjas.

"Please," Rina replied as she shifted her seat away from Anjas.

The atmosphere of the afternoon was very cold, because the wind also felt quite strong, to make the water grains fly up to his body.

Secretly, Rina noticed Anjas who was dressed away from the other villagers. He was able to conclude that Anjas was not a villager there.

"Why is the motor being pushed?" rina asked after a long time the two just fell silent.

"My motorcycle tyre deflated, I think I will soon be able to patchwork or workshop, it turns out not only workshop, home is not there," replied Anjas while chuckling lightly.

Lina smiled as well. "Here is rarely home. About one kilometer away we will enter the settlement" replied Rina, looking down one of the streets.

"Oh, is that it?" Anjas seemed to nod his head faintly.

"You're new to the area, huh? If you can know what to do?" ask Rina again.

"Yes, I'm on vacation here, I happened to be staying at hotel H. But, it looks like I got lost so get here," Anjas explained as he rubbed his cold hand. Sometimes he blows his hands to make them feel warmer.

Lina seemed to nod her head in response.

The rain did not stop even after an hour had passed, now it was getting dark. Due to the exhaustion, Rina and Anjas both fell asleep in a sitting position on the opposite side of the hut.

Until both of them are not aware when the rain has begun to subside. They just woke up when a rowdy sound sounded closer, coupled with a flashlight that looks towards where they both are.

"Sounds like that a lot of people?" asked Anjas, while standing up, followed by Rina.

"Yes, what's wrong?" Rina got up then stood up to prepare to ask the citizens who came.

However, it turns out that the residents came to raid Rina and Anjas on charges of adultery in the hut.

"Wait a minute, what does this mean? We both just shady, because the rain was very heavy," argued Anjas would not accept to be slandered like this.

"Have not had many reasons. If only shelter, why are you still here, when the rain has subsided since?! Anyway where there's my badger!" said the middle-aged man is propocating the residents.

"Yes right, we better take them to the village bale to get sanctioned for what he did!" A young man chimed in.

"Come, come with us to the village bale now!" said the other middle-aged man while taking Anjas' hand in a rough gesture.

"We didn't do anything, sir. You have no right to do this!" Anjas still tried to resist.

"If you don't do it, you should take it to the village bale!"

"We've just beaten up that jerk guy here, he could've ruined the girl in our village!"

The discordant voice continues to be unpretentious, making the emotions of the citizens increasingly peak and the situation heats up.

One initial blow was received by Anjas making another blow prepared to hurt the man.

Rina, who is a villager, stood up to the people who would beat Anjas. His body that was quite tall and slightly contained stood confidently and surely.

"He's innocent, we didn't do anything. So to prove it we're going to the village bale!" rina yelled to quell the anger of the people.

"For what? We're not doing anything?" anjas protest stared at Rina with a deep-linked forehead.

"We do nothing, so do not be afraid to be taken to the village bale, rather than later you will be beaten up by all of them, how?" obviously Rina.

Moments later Rina and Anjas are tried in the village bale, they are confronted by the village elder and also both of Rina's parents.

Mom kept crying when she saw her only child had to end up like this. While the father stared with anger at the girl who had embarrassed his family.

Rina and Anjas were sitting together with their heads lowered, they seemed to be a free spectacle for the entire village.

You forced Anjas to marry Rina as well as the elders, because all the rumors will encourage the good name of the village, if until Anjas is not responsible.

Even if Anjas still does not want to be held responsible, then the village rules require that Rina be expelled and must not set foot again into the village.

After being given one night to think, Anjas finally decided to marry Rina by betel. Lina who did not have the right to speak up could only accept the impromptu marriage.

At first everything went well, the betel marriage done by Rina and Anjas went as it should, even Anjas chose to stay in the village for one month, to get closer to Rina.

However, when Rina asks about the Anjas family, Anjas always avoids and diverts the topic, until something that is actually important in a relationship continues to be missed.

During her marriage Anjas never told Rina about her family. Although a little suspicious, Rina and her family still think positively about Anjas. They received Anjas well, and as they should.

Every month Anjas would go home and stay for a week at home, before finally returning to work in the city. Until the age of six months marriage, Rina positively pregnant and overtake Anjas to the city.

The sound of knocking on the door woke Rina from her sleep, her head felt dizzy and there was a slight pain in the lower part of her stomach.

"Sshh," hissed Rina found it hard to wake up. Even so he forced himself to move then walked over and opened the door.

"Yes," replied Rina with a raucous voice and a pale face, her gaze felt even more faint until she finally collapsed.
