'Who yes? Oh yeah, maybe the hotel waitress.' Emma nodded and hurried to open the door. When the door opened, Emma was shocked to see who was coming.
"Devan?" Emma could hardly believe seeing Devan standing in front of her.
"Hi, sorry I surprised you." Devan said with a smile. Emma's still not moving. His face looks confused. It was like he was at a loss for words. He was silent for a moment.
"Devan, why are you here? I mean, why are you suddenly here? Is there anything important? Or did I make a mistake?" Emma is worried.
"Emma, don't worry. I'll answer all your questions later. Now you're ready. We're going out to eat." Devan says. Emma looked at Devan with a questionable facial expression.
"Come on. I wait," Devan said, turning his back to Emma. Emma had no choice. It just so happens that it is ready too. He rushed in and picked up his bag and cell phone, then walked out.
"Are you ready?" Devan asked. Emma nodded slowly.
"All right, let's go" Devan said, followed by Emma. Both of them headed to the parking lot. Devan stopped right next to a black car. He opened the car door.
"Come on, come on in, please" Devan said. Emma thanked him and got in the car.
"I'll explain everything" Devan said as if he understood Emma's confusion. Emma simply nodded and smiled faintly. On the way, the two did not say much.
"What do you want to eat?" Devan asked as he glanced briefly at Emma.
"Whatever, the important thing is to be able to fill my hungry stomach," Emma replied with a soft laugh. Devan laughed. Shortly thereafter, Devan stopped the car in front of a small restaurant. Without waiting, Emma opened the car door.
"Emma, don't you have a problem eating here? It's just a small restaurant, but I guarantee the food is nice and clean." Devan held Emma's hand. He looks doubtful.
"Dev, I don't have a problem. Anywhere as long as I can eat I will be very grateful" Emma replied with her distinctive sweet smile.
Devan nodded.
"Thank you" said Devan. Both of them entered the restaurant. While waiting for the food order the two chatted. Emma looks a little awkward, but Devan always tries to melt the atmosphere with a light joke. He's got. It's the first time she's eaten with Emma so it's natural that Emma feels awkward.
"Devan, tell me how you got here. Don't you have to go to Bali?" Emma asked with a serious face.
"After you leave, I also go to Bali, and then I come here in the afternoon. It just so happens that there's a family affair." Devan explained. Emma nodded at Devan's explanation.
"When are you going to Bali?" Emma asked again.
"I'm not going to Bali anymore. We'll go home with the morning. Devan replied in a definite tone. Emma looked a little surprised. Actually he still wants to know, but he decided not to ask again because after all Devan is his boss and he must respect Devan by not asking things that he should not know. After the ordered food came, the two began to eat. There was no conversation between them. They just stared at each other and smiled.
"Wrap one for the night, who knows you're hungry." Devan offers.
"No Dev, thank you" Emma replied, shaking her head. After eating, the two went straight home.
"Just a moment." Devan stopped his car and opened the door in a hurry and ran out.
Emma looks agitated. While waiting for Devan, she still tried again to contact her husband but her husband's phone was still off.
"Where are you reward? Why is your phone inactive? Why didn't you ask me at all? Are you all right? I'm concerned. Please activate your phone reward." Emma said alone. He stared blankly out through the window. His mind drifted far away.
"Emma, what's wrong? Why is your face so grim?" Devan asked. Emma did not answer.
"I'm sorry if I was presumptuous" Devan said, then started the engine.
"No need to apologize, Dev." Emma says. He breathed slowly.
"thank you. I feel guilty seeing you like this because you've been with me. Who knew I was doing something wrong without me noticing." Devan said as he glanced briefly at Emma.
"You didn't do anything wrong to me, Devan. I was just feeling confused, agitated and also a little." Emma did not continue her words.
"You're thinking about your husband?" Devan spontaneously asked. Emma surprised. He looked up, looking at Devan.
"Where do you know that?" ask Emma.
"That's your phone." Devan answered while pointing at Emma's phone with his eyes. Emma turned her eyes to her phone. The screen of the phone is still on with the display of dozens of outgoing calls for her husband.
"His phone hasn't been active since noon. It's not usually like this. I'm worried" Emma said. Devan reduced the speed of his car.
"Maybe he's busy. Sms it first. When you have just sent a phone. If you still feel anxious, pray that you feel calmer." Devan advised. Emma nodded.
"But I'm sure, he's fine. Probably busy. Do you want me to get my men to check it out?" Devan offers. Emma thought for a moment. He felt no need to do that, but in his little heart he was very curious.
"Can you do it?" Emma asked. There was a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"Not me, but my confidant" Devan replied.
"Do what you can do. Please, honestly, I'm very unsettled" Emma asked. Actually, she was forced to ask Devan to check on her husband. He has no other choice. Even so, his face still showed a hint of doubt.
"Don't worry. My confidants will do well. Calm your feelings. I'll stop until you smile again like you did a moment ago." Devan said and stopped the car.
"Dev," Emma looked at Devan.
"Yes. I don't want to listen to protests. I just want to see you smile." Devan said as he looked ahead with a serious face. Emma took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He tried to smile.
"Dev, Devan," Emma calls Devan.
"Hmm, already?" Devan asked.
"Yes, I did" replied Emma.
Devan. She saw a smiling Emma staring at her. Devan was smiling. He looked at Emma's face.
"thank you. You have to keep smiling. If you're moody, I feel guilty." Devan says. Emma nodded.
"Thank you Devan. I'm sorry I troubled you" Emma said.
"You're not bothering me at all. Don't say that, OK? Now I'm gonna take you back to the hotel. I'll take care of the tickets for tomorrow." Devan said and then ran the car.
