Laura…

Aphrodite stepped into the supermarket to buy the things she needed, while Francisco was busy taking care of her house. It had been a week since they had been to the restaurant where Laura worked, and since then they have been busy with her work days in the office, Aphrodite spent a week with Laura learning to cook with her. The longer, without feeling they get closer to each other. Even Aphrodite now considered Laura to be her best friend. Later this weekend he and Francisco decided to just stay home and work together to clean up the house. Aphrodite split up her duties, asking Francisco to clean up the house while she went shopping. Francisco had refused because he could not take care of his own house, but because of the coercion of Aphrodite he finally wanted to do it. Although they had negotiated with each other, Francisco negotiated to shop while Aphrodite cleaned up the house. But because Aphrodite was convinced Francisco would not understand how to sort through food, Aphrodite finally insisted on Francisco alone being at home. Then inevitably finally Francisco complied with his request.

"Well what should I buy again." Aphrodite muttered slowly she reread the contents of the grocery list she had made and checked everything.

"This is it, then this one." Aphrodite checked the groceries she was carrying and likened them to the ones on the list. Good, there were only a few ingredients that he needed on his list.

Aphrodite moved, pushing the shopping trolley in her hand towards another area of the supermarket she was visiting. While busy looking for a shelf containing groceries that he was looking for without his shopping trolley hit a trolley belonging to someone else who drove from another direction. Aphrodite gasped in shock as she hit the trolley by accident.

"Sorry," he said quickly but as soon as he saw who the owner was he was so surprised.

"Aphrodite?"

"Laura?"

"Oh my goodness, we meet again. Just a few days ago, we met." Laura chuckled as she met Aphrodite again in such an accident as this, saying it was the third or fourth time they had met by accident.

"You shop too?"

"Yes. Because the cooking ingredients in the restaurant were exhausted so I was asked to shop. Usually we contact our subscription food supplier, but because he was having an obstacle so I had to come here and buy all the ingredients. Good thing the restaurant wasn't too crowded, so there were only a few ingredients I bought."

"That's what it looks like."

"Are you used to shopping here, by the way?"

"Yes, this supermarket is pretty close to my apartment, right, so I'm here a lot."

"Oh yeah, I just realized that this supermarket is close to where you live."

"Because we just happened to meet here, we're all shopping together."

"Good idea, come on."

Aphrodite and Laura stepped up to shop together, buying the groceries they needed to cook. Every now and then they chatted, talking about some funny things that invited their laughter. Not infrequently also Laura tell a joke that managed to make Aphrodite laugh out loud.

After they finished putting in all the ingredients they needed, Aphrodite and Laura then headed towards the cashier to pay for all their groceries. The two of them stood behind a few people who were lining up at the cashier.

Laura reached into the bag she was carrying to take out her purse, the bracelet she used managed to catch Aphrodite's attention. A beautiful looking bracelet.

"Your bracelet is good" said Aphrodite, making Laura turn to him.

"Oh, this?"

"Yes. Where you bought it, I've never seen a bracelet this beautiful. You made it yourself?"

"uh? No, it's from someone special. Back when we were together he ordered this special bracelet for me."

"Oh yeah? Who her? Is she your boyfriend?"

"Ng.." Laura was silent for a moment, the water on her face turned a little moody. He was confused as to how to explain it to Aphrodite. "It doesn't seem important, I don't need to explain. My relationship with him is too complicated."

"So it seems…"

Laura and Aphrodite moved, walking following the pace of the line before them.

After paying for all their groceries, Laura and Aphrodite came out of the supermarket with a few large plastic bags on the left and right sides of their hands.

"Alright it looks like we should split up here." Laura stood opposite Aphrodite. They just got out of there and are now standing on the sidewalk.

"Yes, then I'm leaving. See you at the next meeting."

"See you. Call me if you're free and want to learn how to cook again."

"Ready. Then I'll see you again."

Aphrodite and Laura parted ways, waltzing in opposite directions to each other. While Laura is now walking down the sidewalk, it is different with Aphrodite who has taken a taxi and left by taxi.

Laura continued to step up, to be able to find a taxi that immediately delivered her to the destination. He had to look for it on a road far enough away, and to be able to arrive at his usual place he was looking for a taxi to be able to arrive at the restaurant.

...*...

Jordan was silent in front of one of the bookstores that were there, at this time he was in a state of turmoil because his parents continued to insist on matching with women who were not in love at all. And even worse, they forced him to come to the event that they had made so today, and he chose to run.

Jordan stood up as he stared at the large glass window before him. The window that has a dark color reflects back its shadow behind it. He was silent, for some reason every time he was in a state of turmoil like this, he always chose to run and find a place that always makes him calm. And the places that always make him calm, it is mostly the places he used to visit with someone from his past.

He looked at himself, staring blankly at the window. Everyone including himself and the few pedestrians moving behind him cast their shadows on the glass.

"Every time I'm in this position, every time it's also your shadow back in my memory." his inner. He misses his figure, the figure of a beautiful woman who for many years always adorned his days with every beautiful things that he presented in his life.

Even after his separation from the woman he loved until recently, he still could not forget her and often wished for her to return.

"I wish I could meet him again." Jordan let out a long sigh. It has been years since their separation, until now he does not even know where the woman he loves is, how she is, and how she lives. The more he tried to forget about it, the more his figure continued to haunt in his mind.

Jordan was glued to his place, he gawked speechlessly as his two beads of eyes caught the shadow of the woman flashing behind him. Her shadow was clearly reflected from the black glass before her, let alone the state of the afternoon being so bright that she could actually see clearly the woman.

Jordan turned around quickly, looking for the figure of the woman he saw from the glass. His eyes rolled around, and there. He saw her, the woman he was thinking about was walking further and further away from where she was at the moment. He held a few plastic bags in his hand.

"D-he…"

Jordan rushed to chase after him with all his might. "Yes.this must be really you. I'm sure.." Jordan sped up his pace further and closer to eroding his distance with the woman now continuing to walk among the passers-by around him.

He was stunned to find Jordan who now looked at him intensely. His groceries fell out of his grasp.

"Laura.." Jordan put on a smile, both eyes glazed over the figure of Laura the woman who had been longed for, who had been in her car, and had been in her shadow all this time. Now it's right in front of him,.

"J-jordan.." Laura nodded her head, turning her face the other way, hiding her teary eyes. He quickly shook Jordan's hand.

"I'm sorry, you're wrong" he said, crouching for his belongings.

"I can't, wrong. You are Laura."

"No, I'm not Laura." Laura hurried to turn around, preparing to step but Jordan held back her steps.

"Wait."

"I'm not Laura!" Pressing every word that came from his lips, he brushed Jordan's hand rushing away from him.

"No-no, Laura!" Jordan chased after him quickly, but the people who were passing by there made his steps blocked.

Laura turned to another path, speeding up her pace. While behind him still trying to chase after her, while locking his eyes on Laura he continued to run to follow where the woman was going.

"I can't lose him again!" Jordan tidied the sentence in his mind as he continued to run with his two teary eyes.

His steps were getting closer, only a few meters away. "Laura! Wait!" Shouted Jordan who was not heard at all.

"I beg you, Laura!"

Laura stopped at the red light. He spread his gaze around, he had to flee from Jordan immediately and he should not be caught by him.

As soon as the lights turned red, he rushed across the street along with several pedestrians who were about to cross others.

Jordan wanted to follow after him but as soon as he was about to cross the lights had already turned green making his steps stop in an instant.

"Laura!" Jordan called back to him, he could still see his figure among the passing cars around him. But when the big bus passed, Laura could no longer see him.

Jordan waits for the next red light, crossing the street hoping to still find it. But just across there. He could not find Laura anywhere.

Jordan could only sigh. He was trying to catch his breath. Jordan was still glued to his place, he looked down with a gloomy face. Her tears almost fell.

"Again, I failed to pursue him," he murmured softly with a raging feeling.

His attenuation was seized when something hung up his sleeve. Jordan grabbed the thing, took it off his sleeve and looked at it.

"This.." Jordan was silent looking at the bracelet in his grasp.

"It turns out, he still keeps the bracelet I gave him. In fact.he never let go…"

Jordan clenched his hands, clasped the bracelet that accidentally came off and hooked it on his shirt.

...*...

Laura breathed a sigh of relief as she managed to escape by using a taxi that happened to be empty, she was currently on her way. Ask the driver to take him to the restaurant where he works.

"Why is he there? Why do we have to meet again?" Laura was inward, her eyes still teary; trying to hold back her cries.

"It's been years since then…"

"Why do we have to be found again?"

"I think after a long time of not meeting.he'll be able to forget me."

"But it turns out that he still remembers me, he still recognizes me."

Laura could not help but cry, her tears flowing slowly through her eyes.

He turned his face out of the window, looking at the people walking around the street he was walking on.

Laura was silent in her daydream, she was still crying. His heart seemed to re-scratch wounds when he had to be reunited with Jordan, the man who had been present in his life and taught him the meaning of complementarity. But that was before, their relationship was about as hard by both parents simply because of the caste differences they had.

The taxi he was riding stopped at his destination. Laura was still silent in her place, her eyes blankly staring out the window while her brain was now being forced to recall what was once in her nature. It all just spins around like a movie he watches over and over again.

"Miss?" The taxi driver called him back after waiting for a moment but there was absolutely no answer from him. He called out to her once more, and it was only the third time that Laura came to her senses from her daydream.

"We have arrived" said the driver.

"Oh, yes." Laura rubbed her wet cheeks, opened the taxi door and descended slowly with all the luggage she had bought.

Laura took out her purse to pay for the fare of the taxi she was riding in, finished paying her and put her wallet back in the bag she was carrying. But realizing his bracelet was gone managed to panic him.

Laura double-checked her wrists, but there was nothing, and then ransacked the contents of her bag and could not find them anywhere.

"There really isn't one." he said, beginning to fret. One of his friends stepped out of the restaurant.

"Laura, have you got all the ingredients?" Ask Laura. Laura turned to look at him.

"Please take everything inside, I have to find my lost things. Maybe fall around the supermarket or on the way when I get home."
