Before the ivory mama could interject, Ivory voiced with authoritative intonation,
"Laras Rismawati bint alm. Hariduan, I am talking about you. From this moment on I release you and release my responsibility towards you,"
After saying it, Ivory stood up.
"I've divorced you, Laras. Correctly and face. There's no connection between us." Ivory Eyes glinted at the freezing Barrel.
He stood up from his seat like he had let go of the burden pressing on his shoulders.
"I...!" Ms. Daniah was about to stand up to hold Ivory, but Mr. Pramudia restrained his wife's arm.
Ivory turned to his mother, a gaze in dark red eyes.
"Mama, no need to ask anymore, no need to try to straighten something that has been bent from the beginning. Laras is no longer my business, nor is his son my responsibility." Ivory grabbed Asha's arm.
"I'm tired, can you massage my neck now, baby?" The request is just a formality. Ivory just wants to take his wife from that uncomfortable situation.
Asha nodded her head, and stood up.
"Mama, papa, good night, looks like we're going up first." Asha bowed her body. His eyes stole a glance at Laras who was silent unblinking in his seat, like a person in shock trying to digest what was now happening to him.
"Good night, pa.ma..." Ivory said as he grabbed Asha's hand, leading her to leave the room.
"You'd better rest now Laras, tomorrow I'll help you pack." Asha spoke softly as Ivory took her past the seat occupied by Laras.
The dumbstruck barrel stared at the backs of two people holding hands through his face.
...***...
"What makes you moody, baby?" Ivory embraced Asha affectionately, at the kiss his wife's crown.
The two of them had just finished their morning prayers, Asha let go of her face and went up to the bed as Ivory called her to come closer.
As usual, the two of them always wake up for dawn prayers when the Adhan sounds resounding, praying in a state of quiet morning suana it feels more solemn.
After the morning prayers they will remain in the room, maybe chatting or just chatting something until dawn.
"I'm not moody, just thinking..." Asha curled up in an ivory embrace like a baby.
"What are you thinking?"
"Why did Laras do this to us?" Asha mutters.
"I wonder why Laras set me up and made us misunderstand so big." Ivory breathed.
"I feel guilty for not giving you more opportunity to explain at the beginning." Asha bit her lips, full of guilt.
"I am the guilty Asha, I made one mistake by being childish. I don't have to mess things up from the start." Ivory hugs increasingly era, he kissed the top of Asha's head in regret.
The two of them have seen together the results of a DNA test stating that Ivory is not Zyan's biological father, all the misunderstandings between them are complete.
"If you're angry at Laras, you don't have to hold him back, you have the right to take him out." The words were always spoken by Ivory to Asha, but his wife shook her head.
"We have the evidence to ensnare Laras in the deception article, he has made us both suffer. If you want me to do it, just tell me. I promise you, Laras will be behind the prison." Ivory Bargain.
"I no longer have anger, I just feel sorry for him, he's wasted his life." Answer Asha.
"If we report it, who will take care of his son? Her mother may not be forgiven but her son is innocent. A punishment doesn't have to be to beat him..."Asha wore a thin smile and increasingly infiltrated into the arms of Ivory.
...***...
Asha pushed the door of Laras room slowly, she entered without knocking on the door first because when she came out of her room, it had already opened a little.
Inside the room, Laras was stuffing his clothes into a suitcase. He looked surprised, and looked a little nervous but he did not immediately stand up from his seat, like trying to fight his own fear. Laras only raised his face for a while but immediately lowered his head again, his hands busy folding some clothes with trembling that he could not hide.
"I hope I don't bother you." Asha's voice sounded calm.
Barrel was momentarily stunned, in his face lift, before then turning his gaze back towards the bottom.
"You will come to judge me? Angry me? To berate me or to beat me up? I've been prepared for that." Laras' voice was calm and did not show any fear even though he was actually so anxious about what Asha was going to do.
If he was in Asha's position, he knew what it was like. The more he felt it was natural not to accept his actions, the more he was afraid that Asha would be strict with him.
Asha pulled the dressing chair in the corner, sitting slowly, the creaking sound of the chair legs rubbing on the floor felt so provocative in Laras ears.
People who know their mistakes will be afraid.
"If I wanted to go berserk with you, I'd have done it two weeks ago. You have made great evils baras, slandering and deceiving." Asha replied with no emotion at all on her face.
"You want to report me to the police? you're gonna put me in jail? Just do it. I don't care what happens to me anymore." Baras said again, looking undaunted despite the sound that came out trembling, his face getting redder.
Asha crossed her legs staring at Laras who was still sitting on the floor while stuffing her belongings, alternately looking at Zyan who was sound asleep on the bed.
"I really wanted to politicize you, Laras..." Asha folded her hands over her thighs.
"But I'm now losing my taste in doing so. Seeing you like this, I feel unworthy of your judgment. God exists, I don't have to be tired of opening up all the truth. I just need to do what I'm a part of as a human being and God will do His part." Asha spoke in such a regular voice.
Baras was silent, his lips were trembling about to say something but he was at a loss for words.
"I just want to ask you, Laras. Why did you choose the Ivory mas and me as the one who has to bear all this? I'm sure you have a reason why you did it." Asha's eyes glared sharply at Laras who suddenly did not budge in place.
